I had the honour to be the sound guy for the opening support band of Jimmy Cliff, Tom Tom Club and Talkin Heads in 1982 in northern germany... the Talkin Heads arrived very late, and Tom Tom Club was then kinda doing sound check with three songs, after my german band and Jimmy. When Talking Heads played, the sound was set, and it was huge. for this event the town hired three of the biggest PA companies of germany. About 40.000 Watts and big horn speakers that could dry your pants in a minute.. which was kinda record in those days. I will never forget that energy that came from those musicians.
Didn't know Tom Tom Club were still going in 2010 !!! Great to see them doing a TH track, must have thrilled the audience. Also, that's the first time I ever heard Tina speak!
Exactly thirty years earlier, she played this in a concert on 1980 with the Talking Heads. Thirty Years and still wearing crazy hair styles Tina! Cool!
I remember I went to see Melissa Auf Der Maur back in 2003 or 2004. She looked 8 feet tall on stage. She was actually the opening act but I wasn’t interested in whoever the lead was. I got to meet her in the lobby of the venue at her merch table. She barely came up to my shoulders.
I.....WANT.....TINA !!!! It's always Kool to hear your Favorite Jams Live and with different sound systems and what not....Raw, and I like how the Drums are sounding!!!
Tina Weymouth still pulls out great basslicks like nothing and looks gorgeous - and even with a....substantial belly, Chris Frantz keeps that pulsating groove going....no wonder the crowd cheered like mad!
David Burn and Talking Heads were such a unique."outfit"I think they started out in the "Punk era" but changed &adapted to the times without losing their identity, As we saw here!!! A fantastic band, with respect for their fans👍 .But of course we do have all the latest "Genius" to keep us company!
Total respect, Tina & Chris are great musicians but you just can't get that same groove without David Byrne on vocals for this track. But I still love Tom Tom's man.
My dad's best friend died suddenly the day after this show. Crazy to think that while this footage was being shot, he alive and well. The next day, he was relaxing in his chair watching TV and an embolism in his lung killed him. 5 years ago, in 2016, his grave looked like he'd been in it for 30 years. My God, life is crazy. Death is insane. Thank you Jesus, for Tina Weymouth and her hotness.
It's credited to David, Tina, and Chris. When you see everyone listed on song credits, it means everyone came into a session and threw out ideas and created their own parts and lyrics and they mashed it all together. No one person wrote this song. And the person who probably did most of the work (we don't know who that was) was generous to their bandmates.
@@billbrandine5857 it doesn’t take a whole lot of contribution to get credit. Not sure about now, but there used to be a saying, “write a word, get third”.
Sorry folks, but this is not Tina's bass line. Psycho Killer was written, rehearsed, and performed in 1974 by The Amazing Artistics years before Tina even picked up a bass. I have the rehearsal tapes.
@@royhumes9989 Yes, Tina helped with the lyrics but played no instruments. I was the bass player and there was another guitar player named David Anderson.
Great rendition, but David Byrne and talking heads were too awesome in Lexington Kentucky at Memorial Colliseum in early 80's... Lora and l were a bit wild that concert. Great song!
i love this whole thing but i just gotta wonder who that dude with the cowbell is... he might be a really important dude but all i can think of is the SNL sketch
How true. Tina has made more money playing bass than any bass player critisizing her. Looks like they should use her as a role model. They probably bash Janice Johnson of 'Taste of Honey' also.
I like Tina and her bass playing, so I am not a critic. But money is a very poor metric to use for talent. I’m sure even you could think of entertainers who have made tons of money that you don’t consider very talented.

You can't NOT be HAPPY when you hear TOM TOM CLUB. I truly love these people. They're TOTALLY for real.
So many great nights out listening to these fantastic musicians,,, dance dance dance the summer nights away, missed you soooooo much....
Tina Weymouth...the most gorgeous bass player...ever. And that bass line...is just as beautiful.
still prefer D'Arcy or Melissa but Tina is very fine also.

If you created one of the greatest bass lines in rock and roll history, you'd want to keep playing it too. She sounds and looks great.
She is great !!
She didn't write the bass line, David Byrne did
Incorrect Jack
Actually, they both wrote the song together
If you want the bass line, you have spunk rock in the greasy truckers party of man.
Changed my life when I was in high school. Didn't make it easier but sent me on an incredible path that supports me to this very day.
Best post on this thread by far!
Bear in mind that Tina Weymouth was 60 years old when this video was made and she's still going strong.
I'd do 'er.
And I'm 61 RIGHT NOW.
YOU STILL GOT IT..GOOD FOR YOU MAN !!!!!!!! GOOD FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!
People are getting younger, I'm 68 ha ha. Btw who's the babe singer?
Exactly! Who cares who wrote the bass line, she's a great performer, looks happy doing it and I wish I looked that good at 60 yrs old.
She obviously has early onset of dementia. For a while she was singing in french!!
Great Tina and the rest 💗, Talking heads was a great part of my youth and Tina and Chris continue to keep that memories, always interesting music.
I don’t care what anyone says: Tina Weymouth still smoking hot in 2010.
And in 2020
that’s a 2010 performance. The video not gonna change with every year/decade. it’s the same video.
I think what you're saying is what most people are saying...
Sure AF is
tina was a month away from turning 60, she looks amazing.
Dang!
Superb
Awesome crowd reaction, stage looks bonkers and one awesome tune
And that amazing Bassist still looking and sounding mythical
This will never grow old. If it does, we are all dead. Damn, that Psycho Killer!
Tina Weymouth is the most interesting character ~ such a fundamental bassist, so cooooooooooooool in her style.

Got to see TomTom Club at UMass Amherst concerts on the pond in '89. . Fun times at the zoo

Tiffany Houchin And those legs!
Coolest female bassist ever. The riff to Psycho Killer is so addictive it should be classified as a controlled substance.
I agree
And yet it's one of the simplest bass lines ever
Tina's cool, but imho Kim Gordon takes the title.
Oh I think Suzy Quattro May have something to say about that....
Coolest would be Kim Deal for Me, though
I love this version.
I was growing up in the era when the Zodiac was terrorizing the Bay Area. Brings back horrible memories. But love the tune ❤.
