Thank you for all these tips! My cousin and I have been planning our next cruise after our first cruise this month😂. We are excited and love y’all’s channel.
When i went on my Disney Cruise i wanted to keep my cc as my emergency card for travel (was learning my mistakes of my youth with cc's) so i saved and bought Disney Gift Cards throughout the year for the cruise. During the cruise we bought souvenirs and drinks and whatever. The day before our last night we went to guest services and was able to use our gift cards to payoff our balance from our cruise spending. It was wonderful. Had a balance of lets say 400$ and only paid 150$ out of my card on file!! Just a tip for budgeting prior to the trip.
I love using the Disney Rewards card to pay for my extras on the cruise. All the reward dollars I earn I use the rewards card and have guest services load that amount on to my stateroom and I use the rewards dollars up before I have any actual charges to my card.
The Disney Visa debt card also give individual discounts as well but they can’t earn rewards points. I use that to get the 10% off or special meet and greets at Disney but I use other cards for rewards.
Yeah we just don’t use it much for those discounts. They have removed many discounts at restaurants around Disneyland. We did use it to see Vader in June!
Thank you so much for this video. I live in Australia and I am so excited to sail from Sydney in January. Can you get the drink of the day with your dinner? Can you book the spa when you board the ship... I didn't know it's cheaper on port days that's so handy to know!
So fun!! Yes! You can get the drink if the day anytime from a bar/lounge or at dinner. You can book the spa on board, but you can also book it ahead of time once your booking window opens up. The spa isn’t discounted on port days, but you get a 20% discount inbthe spa on port days only if you have the Disney VISA card connected to your onboard account. Hope that helps 😊 Have fun!
We are “older” than you but, Agree with all your advice! Love the placeholder & like you both, love paying off Cc at end of month We paid off our mortgage & car before retirement!! Have a great weekend 😎😎
We have our first Disney cruise in exactly 6 months. I considered the fish extenders but decided not to do it due to cost. May pixie dust though. In terms of merchandise, our kids know that instead of Christmas gifts this year, they’ll get money that they can use on board. I’m also making our own ears but I have purchased the Disney 100 ears as something special. We will share the ears so we get to change it up each day.
We brought our own FE hanger for our kids and I brought a few items just for them. They ended up getting pixie dusted with little things as well and it was a much nicer option for us. We brought in expensive treats for them to drop off in other peoples pockets.
Tip for adult couples. Don't dine alone. Let Disney put you at a table with others. We have have met some wonderful people at dinner. And maintained friendships with them afterwards.
Could not agree more. I surprised the GF with a bday cruise and we almost requested a solo table, so glad we didn’t. Had wonderful conversations with both couples and Disney is great about seating like groups together, so no adults sitting with a family with kids, for the most part.
Question about the popcorn bucket…I feel like some videos say you can bring a bucket you got in the park and some say you can’t….do you think we can bring a bucket we got in 2023 to a cruise in 2025?
You can totally bring it, but there’s no guarantee they will fill it for a discounted price. We found that out on our Wish cruise (after recording this video) 😢
I’m looking to possibly book one finally! So you use your disney cc for the deposit and then the rest of it on the Chase sapphire? I have both cards and want to make sure I get ultimate rewards cuz I use that for hotels as well!
😄 hey friend! Hope you guys get to go! Yes, that’s exactly how we do it. It gives you 6 mo. To pay off the deposit without interest (Disney card) then we use our Sapphire card to pay the rest. Lots of chase points AND travel insurance when you use your Sapphire card. You can use your Sapphire for both to get more points, but the interest free payments for the deposit can come in handy!
I save money and buy Disney gift cards at Costco every $500 you save $15. If your cruise is $10,000 like you mentioned you have saved $300 on your cruise by paying this way.
You don't have to spend a minimum of $50dlls in the Cruise gift shop to get the 10% off if you pay with the Disney Chase anymore. Now you get 10% of any amount you spend in the gift shop now
We believe that used to be the standard rule, but it seems like they’ve gone away from that more recently. And now that we are gold, we automatically get a discount when we shop in the stores on the ships!
@AdventuresinMillerland that's awesome! I didn't know Gold gets a discount until I heard it on your video. We've been on 2 Disney Cruise, so we're barely silver. We're trying to save $ for our 3rd one. One day it'll happen :)
We really love the chase sapphire reserve card. We use that as our exclusive card when we travel, especially internationally. This is because it has zero international transaction fees and provides the best credit card security and point redemption benefit for us. The other alternative that we don’t have is the chase sapphire preferred card. You would have to look at the two and compare them to see which one is best for you. We find that the sapphire reserve card gives us more value and the higher annual fee is worth it for us because the benefits we receive surpass the cost of the annual fee for how we travel. In the end, you’ve got to go with what’s right for you 😊 Hope that’s helpful!
Excellent comprehensive DCL cruise. I pay for my cruises monthly directly to DCL.

Thank you! Glad it was helpful 😊 Have a great time!!
Hi! My dad loves your content but never is signed in to like your videos. I thought I would write this down to show his appreciation for your content❤
Thanks for letting us know 😊 It’s ok if he doesn’t do that! We’re just glad you are watching, enjoying it, and thanks for saying hi!!

Great tip! Especially if you want to stick to a certain amount of spending & don’t want a large bill to pay off after the cruise 👍

That’s a great use of those Disney reward dollars!
Yep, I 100% agree with everything you've said in this video. Though I did enjoy it, I was surprised to have it recommended to me. Thanks
Thanks 😊 Glad you enjoyed it!
This helped us SO MUCH! Thank you 🎉

Love and agree with all of these tips! We actually also use the Sapphire Reserve card and Disney Visa as well. You guys are the best!

The only way to not let credit cards own you 😊

Love this! Thx for adding some input on this 😊
Dream is going out of Europe this summer and it does similar to Wish, but longer and in slow months special cruises too. Hope to do Marvel in 2024.
Yep!

That’s a great tip - we would for sure do that if it was just Carrie & I!

Totally agree with this! We are still friends through social media with the families we had dinner with!
We loved meeting people dining when we cruised. We have an only child, so it was great for her to make a buddy right away.

I ask use my Disney movie rewards for $10 gift cards in between trips. I use this money to buy souvenirs on the ships.
That’s a good way to save too! Thx for the tip 😊

If you use your Target Redcard to buy Disney gift cards to use on your Disney cruise you save 5%. ❤
That’s how we have gotten them before (Target red card).
Do you find one of your Credit cards is better for international travel than another?
