I know you’re worried about your weight, I mean I get it, we all deal with those thoughts. But I found you recently and have been binging your videos (working my way from your first video to the present), and I can honestly say you look incredible. You look so much healthier.
I’m sure how your clothes fit and how you see yourself in the mirror can discourage you from being comfortable in your own skin, but you do look so good! I, too, struggle with these same thoughts (although I don’t have the medical issues you do), so I know it’s easier said than done. But I just wanted to let you know that you look great. ❤️

Hey hun ❤️ I feel you about the weight gain. I’ve had a past with disordered eating and honestly, sometimes our bodies will gain more weight than what we were at “before” because being malnourished for any long period of time causes a lot of damage internally that we just cannot see. Trust the process! As you said it can also be the implant birth control!! And didn’t you say your doctor suspected you had low thyroid function? Low thyroid also lowers your metabolism. Multiple things cause weight changes!! It’s good that you’re keeping an eye on it but remember to cut things some slack. I hope to see your next vlog!!

Good luck and don’t worry it’s not as bad as it sounds I had one done 2 weeks ago. My biggest piece of advice would be to tell the nurses and doctors that ur nervous once I told them they really did everything that they could do to make me less nervous
I have an embarrassing story about that lol.
I had never been under general anesthesia before so I was nervous and when the nurse put the IV I started feeling weird and I told her if that was supposed to happen and she was like "that's just saline water......" I was like "oh". 😂😂😂 bet I was the joke of the day the rest of that day lol.
And yeah to me the worst thing was the prep because I'm a picky eater so the drink was gross lol. But everything else is fine.
I'm too late to this thread to really give advice, but I hope everything goes well. And to anyone else getting a colonoscopy soon, the prep is the worse part honestly.
Where I am in Canada we have to pay for the wafer zofran, but the tablets are covered by the public system. Crazy what they will or won’t cover. I do iv NS at home through my Broviac, but they won’t cover it unless you’re on TPN/need a bag with vitamins, or palliative. It’s covered if you go to the day unit at the hospital though. But I can’t sit there 3x a week for 4-5 hrs! So I chose to pay out of pocket.
In the U.S. when I had insurance they refused to cover the wafer zofran because according to the insurance company, I could just take the regular tablet with water. Umm, no, not when you can't stop vomiting to the point of ending up in the ER.
If you’re talking about the dissolvable Zofran I’ve had it prescribed for me at home numerous times and both my Insurance’s covered it (in USA)

Hello beautiful! I’ve been watching your videos for quite a while now and got very interested in EDS because of some symptoms I experience daily and because I study psychology and guess what?? In my health psychology class (chronic illness managing) we had a full on 2h course just about hEDS! In this class we also learned about how hypermobility has been linked to anxiety. I’m hypermobile and suffer from chronic anxiety and OCD for my whole life now. I never knew where it came from until I stumbled across the HSD/hEDS community. Now the funny (or not so funny 🤪) thing is that I think I might have POTS (my heart rate does increase around 40bpm as I stand up, I experience symptoms like fatigue, lightheadedness, brain fog, ... some more severe than others but never knew it was not normal). Now because of my severe OCD I was put under anti depressive (Zoloft/Sertraline) and since then my anxiety has dropped drastically (my OCD not so drastically unfortunately 😅) and so I checked my pulses again and found out that my heart rate wasn’t going all over the place anymore as I’d stand up and felt so much calmer. So I feel like this kinda confirms the link between my anxiety and my plausible POTS diagnosis. I talked about it with my psychiatrist but didn’t believed me and minimised it by saying that all women experience dysautonomia and hypermobility... do you guys think I should fight for it and ask another specialist or is it not worth it or am I making a big deal out of nothing?

Implanon does cause weight gain, I had it myself, I also suffered from bloating however it did help my skin ever so slightly. I’ve been wstching your videos for a while and your brilliant, a genuine funny and compassionate person. Keep doing you! Do you have any advice for being diagnosed with Eds, I have suffered with a number of symptoms for a while and get nowhere with my gp surgery.

I gained 2 stone with the implanon in 2 years. I've always been a bit on the heavier side but that just made me gain weight like crazy regardless on how healthy I was eating! Its been 6 years since I had it and I'm still struggling to get the weight off.

MrsRW411 I was going to comment this as well. I’ve always been able to put my pop socket on the mount without opening it. But I know my best friend always opened hers to put it on, and then pushed it closed once it was on.

Please check with your doctor before you consume donuts or anything for that matter. I'm going through chemo, long story short, I had to get a drainage G-tube, I typically don't eat anything by mouth but occasionally I can have purees (no more than 4 cups and 1 liter of liquids). I was dying for a taste of my grandma's tamales once... I had a tiny bit, chewed it very, very well, didn't have any of the filling, just the "masa", needless to say, it didn't go very well 😑. Anyway, hope you check with your GP beforehand 💕. Take care 🤗.

I know a girl who gained 10 kg in 1 year because of the contraceptive implant. Have you ever considered putting the hormonal IUD? Because it can decrease menstrual flow or even stop it
I'm sorry to hear you are not feeling comfortable at your current weight. Personally I think you look amazing! It very well could be your new implant since different birth controls have weight gain as a side affect. I hope it sorts itself out!!!

Birth control is horrible! I gained so much weight when l was on it. That’s why l came off of it and l also came off my anxiety medication and l lost over 100 pounds
I'm not gonna lie I gained 30 pounds after being on nexplanon. It was awful I had it removed because I gained so much and felt so miserable from it. I hope you don't have to go through that but it is possible!

I always tuck my port tubing down my bra so it's not so obvious when I'm out. I hate people staring or asking questions. I'm so self conscious.
guardians animal rescue/ state certified 501c3 she’s not allowed/supposed to by doctors orders because it hangs right next to her feeding tube and puts her at higher risk of infection

@@guardiansanimalrescuestate7289 Perhaps you'll be advised to continue to tuck it in (which is what I was told). According to my oncologist, the risk of infection is greater if it is exposed to the elements. I tape it down so it doesn't swing uncomfortably. Like you, I'm also quite self-conscious of the stares😔.
@@NovemberRain007 I was told to tape it under my bra, and not let it go near the feeding tube. I'm so self conscious enough having seizures in public, I just hate stares. So I twist up the extra and tape it so it doesn't hang down low. I mean she needs to do what her doctor said she should do. I have a medical service dog So people already know I have medical illnesses, I just hate any attention drawn to myself. I hope u r okay. I'm sorry u r going thru so much. U r in my thoughts and prayers.

Hey Amy! I hope you don’t worry too much about your weight, you look the same as always to me anyway. Even as someone who technically has ‘control’ over their weight, it never feels like I do, but I understand the feeling of being very uncomfortable in your own body.
I know you have mentioned before you suffer from body dysmorphia, which I imagine must be very difficult, especially when you have even less ‘control’ than the average person. It’s actually one of the first things I heard about you that made me relate. Anyway hearing you say these things made me want to say something. I think you’re beautiful and powerful however you feel, but I think it’s also important to allow your body to grow, even if it screws with your mind. If that makes sense?
