Kenmore Whispertone 300 Canister Vacuum

- Hey viewers, I apologize that I haven't made a video in a while. I've been away for a bit, my previous phone or camera had technical issues, and I haven't had the time to upload anymore videos. Now that I got a new phone or a new camera, I will try the best that I can to find a time to upload more videos, especially the ones that have been requested to see. I will still be around here and I definitely don't have any plans of deactivating my account, especially since UA-cam is no longer going to monetize my channel unless if I can get 500 more subscribers
Anyways here I'm showing is one of the vacuums that I've been after for a long time. This Kenmore is made by Panasonic. I got this off of Ebay for about $175 plus shipping probably 7 months ago. I rarely buy stuff from Ebay but this one was one of the exceptions. It came with everything including new bags, although these Micro Lined bags aren't the ones that I prefer to use but they are still better than some other bags, and I definitely do have plans of switching to cloth bags for this as well. But other than that, this is in excellent condition, it looked like it had only been used a couple times however the hose isn't in the best shape. As I said, I've been after one of these for a long time, I think these are probably my favorite Whispertones of all time, definitely one of my favorite Kenmore canisters of all time, and perhaps one of my favorite canisters of all time as well. I would love to find a white version because that is also one of my favorite Whispertones as well. Overall, this is a really good vacuum. Good suction and airflow, really quiet, and the power nozzle does an excellent job agitating the carpets since this has a beater bar. Not a huge fan of the current wooden brushrolls they sell today. The only downfall I would say is that the filtration isn't really the best compare to the newer Kenmore canisters today.

Have had ours 30+ years and it still is in top shape. Had an issue with one of the tubes clips coming off but Sears replaced it no charge. I miss Sears. We are a Kenmore/Sears house. Stove, Fridge, washer, dryer, water softener and lawn tractor (Craftsman )
My grandmother had this same canister vacuum when I was little but it was dark green. I vividly remember when I was watching TV, my grandma used to have a cleaning lady come over and I would listen to the vacuum while I was watching TV. Fond memories.
Seeing this exact blue Kenmore brought me all the way back to my childhood when I was 6. My great-grandmother had this, and for some reason I loved that thing.
Same here. It’s part of my childhood when I was born 23 years ago when I used to live in Niles Michigan and my mom used to have that.
Yeh in like i was born in 2010 and when i was around 5 my grandparents let me use there kenmore just like that but older
We also had a red tear drop shaped one with a tan power mate to an older one that died because the power mate to the red one died then we moved when the blue one died and the red one was auctioned off at our storage unit the i “STEP DAD” didn’t pay for so
after that we never had one again and i wish we did because i loved it

My house has this vacuum, and it's excellent.
This thing made me love vacuuming as a kid, then my mom bought the LG kompressor at a sears when this kicked the bucket and I’ve hated vacuums because of it. It broke and made awful grinding sounds and ever since my mom claims i get the look of a murderer every time she vacuums with our third vacuum in my sixteen years.
I had one exactly like this. It was a silver / grey color. I miss it

My mom has one very similar but it's a hunter green color. But hers doesn't have the wand storage on the bottom and the Power Mate junior is gray instead of matching the vacuum color. Also hers didn't come with that bag, usually that bag was supposed to come with ones that had a second set of attachments to use for cleaning in the car or garage.
I loved that vacuum as a kid. I was with my parents at Sears when they bought it back in 1999, it was the first vacuum they had bought since I was born. I remember how it smelled when it was new and when I got home from school the next day after they bought it, I vacuumed the entire living room with it.

Found one on the side of the curb......haven’t used it. Turn on and has suction. Just saw this vid and wanted to get some sort of instruction without all the convo........wish came tru with this vid......lol
I have a similar whisper tone that thing kicked ass for years. But it hasn't been the same since it accidentally sucked up bunch of yarn n broke the belt. Replaced the belt but, theres a high pitch screechy wheeeeeeeee noise when using the floor carpet motorized brush part. Louder than it used to be. Could it need oiling? Could it be bearings?
Probably. To confirm, I would take it to an authorized vacuum store to have them look at it to see what the issue is.
Could there still be some yarn wrapped around the ends of the beater brush?
I have one in perfect condition it's unbelievable good condition green Kenmore made by birtman model number is 2 second one ever made in perfect shape I have a feeling it's only one existence like it that works that good

How do you open the base to replace the belt, don't see any screws
There's two screws underneath where the light housing is at but that's not all you would need to remove the cover. I would highly suggest to look in the owners manual where it would show you on how to remove it.
I saw a vid on how to do that just search it up
