Hoover Floormate H3045 Floor Cleaner (Chapter II)
For today's Black Friday special, I decided to show off my grandfather's Floormate again but actually clean with it this time. Mainly because when I arrived up here for the week, the floors were just so sticky and gross. And I've had comments in the past from the last video of this wanting to see it in action to show how well it does, so I got a fresh bottle of solution, and here it is. I didn't tape the whole thing, but I got the entire kitchen done, and I even tried it on the tile floors as well to use up the old bottle of grout cleaner. Overall, it's not too bad. But I think for Christmas I'll buy my grandfather a Rubbermaid wall mop just like what I use at home because it still does a better job than this and his other mops I'm not a fan of. Not to mention the amount of time I spent to set this up, use it, and clean it afterward. I still stand behind that Floormates or any floor extractors are a waste. Floor scrubbers/polishers, I don't mind, but only if I want to go crazy, Hoover used to sell those types of cleaners in the past. If it were up to me, I'd rather hire a truck mount professional to deep clean the floors, especially for his tile grout, just like what we had done with ours recently. Despite all of that, I'd love to take this home with when the time comes because it is another one of those Nostalgia machines.

SEBO Automatic X4 Upright Vacuum

Here I'm showing off is a rather rare SEBO, at least I should say. I got this vacuum last year from Facebook Marketplace for $80. Came with a couple of new bags, one paper, and one cloth. Put the cloth bag from my Kenmore onto this and the paper bag on the Kenmore instead because I know I won't ever be using my Kenmore anymore except to just play around with it. The unused cloth bag will be put...

NOTE: In no way I work, own, represent, promote or sponsor a company in this video so I will not give out the business' name. This is to show my long time subscribers and new upcoming viewers of what we'd use to clean our floors with. So I will likely not do another tile grout or carpet cleaning video, any requests in the comments below for more videos like this will be turned down unless if I ...

Here I'm showing is the newest vacuum I recently picked up. I bought this yesterday (10/14) for $25 from Facebook Marketplace. Only thing it was missing is the dusting brush. Other than that, this was in terrific condition. It looked like this was used a handful of times as you can see. I honestly just dusted and wiped the machine down, that was it. I know the bag, filter, and belt weren't fres...

Here I'm showing is something my brother bought several months ago for the shed cause he does projects over there. Wasn't too fond with the idea of having to drag out the long central vac hose which I totally get. Plus he'd be able to take this wherever he goes like the other weekend for example when he put up a fireplace for my other brother, he was able to use this to clean up. So I thought I...
Kenmore Progressive Direct Drive Upright Vacuum
Переглядів 1,5 тис.3 місяці тому
Here I'm showing is a long overdue request. I got this vacuum 7 years ago for $5 from the local thrift store. Came with everything including the extension hose. Only just cleaned it up a little and put a new bag on but it works great now. Been after one of these for quite a while. This was one of the last first generation Kenmore Progressive uprights they've sold before the Intelliclean models ...

Kenmore Self-Propelled Upright Vacuum

Here I'm showing is my all time favorite Kenmore direct air upright. I got this vacuum about four and a half years ago from eBay for under $200 I believe plus shipping. Came with the hose and crevice tool but the bags I later bought separately. All I needed to do was replace the belt. Other than that, there was one problem with this when I received it. The handle was bent forward due to poor pa...

Here I'm showing is my only bagged Swivel Glide that was requested to be seen. I got this vacuum two years ago from my local thrift store for $10, I remember I bought this shortly after getting my blue Swivel Glide Vision MVP. It worked when I got it but it was missing two attachments, just needed a new belt as the old was very old and it snapped in two areas. I just simply cleaned it up, washe...

Here I'm showing are two of our cordless hand vacs in our house, at least that's working. I also have a Dustbuster I personally own for my collection but it doesn't work anymore. Anyways, the red one we've got first. It was bought I believe in the summer of 2020. It may have been bought from Amazon, I don't know where my dad got it from. But definitely for certain the white one came from Amazon...

Here I'm showing is one of our cordless machines. We bought this brand new since I believe a year ago. And this has been our 5th cordless stick vac that we've owned in this house. Our first one was a blue Bissell GoVac which I thought was trash cause it picked up poorly and the batteries didn't last for very long. The second one was a grey Shark cordless sweeper that we bought after using my gr...

Here I'm showing is my aunt's other wet dry vac my uncle uses. He bought this back in 2019 I believe when he started building the house here. Originally he brought his black Shop Vac QSP 12 Gallon with him during construction and while at the old house he used this for other garage work until he ultimately brought this down to finish the up the new house. So now this is basically the garage/sho...

Oh yeah good old Kirby's I used to have the G6
The problem is that the grit collects in the bottom of the nozzle and you can't get to it to clean it out esp if it is wet grit like coffee grounds. Upgraded to a Bosch Move 20V - more expensive but better filter/cleaning system - only negative it that it does not have a stand attachment for the wall.
Wow bro that motor sounds very healthy some people said that they’re old one was loud and bad bearings and started to sound bad so yeah I enjoy the good deep hard floor cleaning I love it
This is not a deep cleaner, there were still spots showing afterwards that a wet rag was able to easily wipe them up. That's one of the reasons why this doesn't get used much and why the motor still sounds fine.
Is this a vacuum you would recommend?
Only if it was just for like installing in carpet for a living. As much as I like this vacuum, I wouldn't buy one back in the day. Loud, it's bagless, and filtration is terrible. Let me give you my take. I personally could care less with just almost any vacuum sold through department stores in the contemporary world, I mean there's only a few that I thought was worth buying and the only Dirt Devil I would've recommended back then is the Platinum Force carpet cleaner. All the other Dirt Devils I really don't care much about. I mainly like vacuums that were sold in vacuum stores because they are professional/commercial grade machines, and Royal happens to be one of them (Dirt Devil's sister brand).
I own a Dyson Ball Multi Floor original with the same color scheme
dyson is crap
I like some of their models, in fact I use a V8 at work.
Is this a vacuum you would recommend?
Honestly no. Cheaply made, loud, and not enough filtration.
That motor 😂😂😂 13:18
Does the Shark or the Dyson have better suction?
Definitely the Dyson.
Is this a vacuum you would recommend?
Nope. Too loud, too dusty, too cheaply made, and there are other Eurekas that can do a better job than these.
I have a Eureka the boss smartvac and I really enjoy using it! Is it a machine that you would recommend to people?
Which Smart Vac are you referring to? You have a model number?
The 4870
I never was a fan of those cleaners. I don't think they're bad, but they're just weird for my taste. Awkward on my hands, changing bags out are harder than I realized, and they look ugly. Personally, I'd take this Bravo over it because it just feels better on my hands and doesn't look as bad in my opinion. But bottom line is that they weren't the best Eurekas from my experience.
I got this for $20
I have 2 10 amp Furys along with 5 later ones and I love them. The 10 amp is my favorite version though, the dark green with the teal bumper and handle grip is just so pretty. Seems like most 10 amp models have bad motors though, not sure why the 10 amp ones get bad bearings more often, one of mine sounds OK but the bearings are a bit dry, and I have yet to turn on the other one as I just picked it up last night. Maybe this one will run great? I doubt it but fingers crossed!
I have one of these! Anyplace to find the discontinued replacement filter or a suitable replacement?
Your best bet is finding one from a vacuum store, that's where I got mine from. Or you're gonna have no choice but to customize one. Easily you can fit a Shop Vac foam sleeve and use a Shop Vac reusable dry filter with a ring they'd come with.
@@panasonicvac4036 Thanks There are scads of different ones for Shop Vac. Have a part number?
Yeah of course, the dry filter is #9010733. And supposedly the foam sleeve filter that should work on this is #9058533 but I'm not completely certain. Another suggestion is to use disposable bags like what I did with mine.
Can you do a video on your eureka the boss self propelled vacuum?
I don't have one.
I loved this vac most before I started buying "real" ones. I bought two Sharks after this (giving this one to my mom so I could upgrade), and hated them both. The debris would just mock me I swear, as I passed over it time and time again. But I'd buy a NOS one of these in a heartbeat to have a bagless worth adding to my personal workforce.
You can still buy these today.
I’ve always liked that red and white model. Classic Shark design!
can you do a video of the eureka the boss self propelled esp and im joeelam1951 by the way
No.
Now every single major budget vac sounds exactly like this.
I was gifted this vacuum. I DO NOT LIKE IT 😢
It also sounds like my shark apex powerfins and my electrolux versatility sweepers
How long is the battery life when fully charged
I just answered you that.
How long is the battery life
No more than 25 minutes.
This reminds me of a Kenmore canister vacuum
This is how they are supposed to sound like. ua-cam.com/users/shortsNkR9xL1PjOw?si=B4t8KmufOYM4m8X-
Actually that one sounds rough too, I can easily tell the bearings are dry.
I didn’t expect it having an ametek motor. The ones that we get in the UK are normally equipped with a domel motor.
Maybe the UK had some at one point as well, I don't know. But I do know that the new X7/X8 models in the UK now have Italian made Ametek motors because they were forced to lower the power down, in the US we're using Domel motors still on the X7/X8. We both did had American made Ametek motors on the X1/X2 models which the EU regulations would allow you to still use, my Kenmore Professional 12 which is technically a X1 has one.
These are pretty good vacuums, but I think I prefer the Essential G series models with the manual height adjustment. I'm not a big fan of the fact these don't sit too deep into the carpet, but I still do love how well built and quiet these are.
Owning both a X4 and a G1, I can honestly say that I favor my X4.
My middle school custodians had one and I was allowed to take it apart but unfortunately the motor looked like it was under the sea
Pretty good deal for 80 dollars
I have that exact model!
am I the only one that doest have the 3m filtrate Logo on the dust cup
My parents had this vaccum cleaner since we were little kids! I do not want to replace it. I must fix her and unclog her
Is this a vacuum cleaner you would recommend back in the day?
Yes absolutely, such an American classic.
I have one of these in my collection
They're my all time favorite Hoovers.
Hi, my name is Kel!!!!! And i love your UA-cam channel. it's the amazing channel that i really love!!!!!! And i am a huge fan of Panasonic vacuum cleaners!!!!!!! And i been watching your UA-cam channel for a long time!!!!!! Keep up the amazing work that you are doing!!!!!!!! Have a wonderful day!!!!!!!!!!
Well thank you, I appreciate it:)
I have one too. Pretty cool
This performance is not very impressive
@@erickincaid9779 Works fine for me, especially when the leaves are wet.
I have had one for many years and would not be without it. I don't even own a rake. Best 800 dollars spent.
Excelente
Is this a vacuum you would recommend for an apartment?
No. Filtration is terrible, it's bagless, it's hard to push, brushroll doesn't shut off, and the wheels fall apart.
Ha😂
It looks so similar to the kenmore progressive 100
This reminds me of a carpet pro because of the color
I love the fact that these old kenmores have a wiring diagram similar to a car when you lift the hood tells you were belt diagram or fuse diagram is if you removed the fuse panel, shame to see a lot of these old kenmores got heavily used and abused over the years, there good vacuums but I see alot especially the twin fan models are subject to bearing failure atleast the ones ive got used
Ive tested those and the cansters a At sears before REST IN PEACE SEARS
I remember this vacuum from my childhood. It started getting really loud one time to use indoors tho. Because of how loud it got, my dad used it to vacuum the cars, of course he attached the hose. I wish I could find this vacuum again because I miss the loud noise and I would use it to vacuum my truck.
This is honestly a poor choice to use for vacuuming out vehicles. While the airflow is alright, the suction is terrible. You're better off getting a wet/dry vac if you want a cleaner truck.
Got a Performax Sanyo SCA4A looks the same and its the same except the bag system but the bags are compatible? Mine doesnt have the quick detach
They should still work.
This reminds me of the older Kenmore duo power ease self-propelled upright from 1977 through 78. It was a cool upright, it had two Motors. One for the vacuum and one for the self-propelled feature. The self-propelled motor had three travel speed options, low, med, high then off. And what was cool is when you would lower the handle it would stay in the reclined position all by itself and it wouldn't fall over. I remember as a kid using it quite a bit cuz I had to do the vacuuming and it was so cool to use it and it would make this really cool sound when you would Engage The self-propelled motor I wish I could find one of those I would love to have one. It was blue and white and it had the faux wood grain on top of the headlight and then also on top of the switch panel which had high and low and then off I would love that vacuum
Nice Hoover ultra self propelled windtunnel. I have an ultra model as well, except mine is an early version without the turbo brush. The last bypass vacuum Hoover made before this was the dial a matic. The transmission in the windtunnels are very similar to the dial a matic, and the concepts. The self propelled feature on this vacuum is definitely not a marketing technique. It just takes off on you. This machine has tons of airflow and suction. I can feel the nozzle suck itself on the carpet. The brush roll shut off feature is another thing I like. Too many upright vacuums keep claiming to have a bare floor setting without the brush roll actually shutting off. The machine just zooms on bare floors. I turn the self propelled off on bare floors due to how fast it is. I wish the hose was longer, but they did make a 20 foot hose. I might be the only one that finds this machine to be not heavy. The agitation is impressive for it being ran on a v belt. The only thing I don’t like about this machine is installing the flat belt. The fact that this had a long production run shows how good these machines are. They just lasted. I read some old Amazon reviews and found it funny how some people got upset because they carried the machine by the handle, or the belts breaking from the setting being too low. People can break anything and get upset over it. A lot of these broke due to people snapping the self propelled cable and the arm. The original brush rolls also worn out quickly if you let the v belt wear into the brush roll. I honestly prefer the Maytag models to not only have a better sounding motor, but to be more better looking.
Yours is likely a model that got recalled, just a heads up. Hoover made other bypass machines after the Dial-A-Matic. Canisters, central vacs, and handhelds. Personally, I wouldn't have wanted to use these on barefloors because they're one sided suction and the wheels are plastic which are guaranteed to scratch on like wood or such. Overall, I like these machines but I don't love them. Or I love them but I just don't like using one. Maytag could've designed a better vacuum than this honestly but they never had good engineers, one of the reasons I blame them for ruining Hoover. TTI did made some improvements on their own Windtunnels which I'd prefer over the Maytag/Whirlpool versions. But I do agree about the motor and looks wise. Still though, they were problematic. In fact, Consumer Reports stopped recommending these as their top picks when they finally realized the repair rates had gone up from vacuum shops. Despite it's flaws, I think they should've kept these around for a while longer. I know would've bought one over a tech drive Kirby.
I've seen this model type with the Kenmore and Whirlpool branding, but I don't think Panasonic ever had its name on these. They were already starting to go obsolete by the time Masushita rolled into town.
Yeah so far I've never seen one of these under the Panasonic brand. Would've been cool if so. But they were already being outdated anyways.
This is why I have a MD flomaster
Esta suena rara no hace el sonido normal es una modelo 3670G vacuum Cleaner
¿Qué quieres decir con que suena diferente? Mighty Mites siempre ha utilizado diferentes motores a lo largo de los años.
