    Another outstanding video. My hats off to Kevin for having no fear sharing his pilot skills. Did you notice how much easier that jet was to fly and manage? I have been humbled by the amount of work it takes to manage my C310 compared to the Jets I have flown.
    Jaime thank you for being an inspiration to my wife. I hope to get her in the sim later this year.
    Congrats to you both for successfully making GA fun and sharing your experiences with the rest of us.

    • @310Pilot
      @310Pilot  4 роки тому

      Thanks Mark! I did realize that I was a little too twitchy on the yoke in the sim and could/should have done a few things different but that's what training is all about I suppose. I know opening it up for everyone to see will generate some extra opinions but I like to keep it real. :)
      I'll smooth that out next time. Honestly I think the King Air and Citation are easier to fly than a Twin Cessna. Of course there are a ton of systems you have to know inside and out but the actual flight in normal conditions were easier than I expected.
      Thanks for all the support and hopefully your bird is treating you guys as well as ours has been us. Just need to get her back from the skin rehab project before I go crazy. :)

      @@310Pilot Actually, you did quite nicely. I've flown sims twice a year for the last 36 years both turbo props and jets. Sims are generally much for sensitive and less forgiving than the aircraft. I thought you did outstanding.
      You should appreciate your skills flying the C310 after seeing just how easy the other two sims were.
      I can't wait to see your paint scheme. I purchased a C310R remote control plane and will use that to design my paint scheme. I just couldn't fathom spending $3k to let someone design it and I just wasn't feeling it putting it on paper. Now I have a 50" wing span 3d model to paint to my hearts content.
      My bird goes in for a full panel on March 9th. I will loose it for 6-10 weeks. I will feel your pain.

    • @310Pilot
      @310Pilot  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks Mark! In my limited experience for sure more sensitive and less forgiving sounds right. I couldn't stand to spend that kind of money for a designer either. Smart move on the 3D model. I would have done the same if I thought about it. Paper does make it tough to envision. Congrats on the new panel. Send me some pics when its done. I hope it is done in 6-10...I'm never lucky with the time quotes. :)

    What a fun day. Thanks for the video Kevin. 4 cushion Jamie...haha. Too cute. Nice to know she could get you guys down in an emergency. I too would like to see her get her PPL. It would be great to V-log her training if it wasn't a distraction, but I understand if it's not her thing. Can't wait to see BC in the new paint!

    I spent a day at that hangar, 15 or so years ago, helping to install the first two sims; the wrap around screen and the basic sim. My late, great friend Gene L was part of rhe predecessor training company and the wrap around screen was, at that time, one of the first ever installed anywhere. Yes, full motion sims were long in use, but the Frasca manufactured units, though not full motion, were very realistic and made sim training more affordable for nearly everyone. I'm new to this channel and am enjoying the videos. Makes me feel like I'm back in the air after 14 years - lost my medical and still miss my Stearman.

    Love flight simulators, the ultimate video game. In my 42 year career at Gulfstream I was fortunate enough to have a friend who worked in Flight Safety. On weekends during lunch and the pilots who where in training went to lunch, we would jump in the simulators and fly around. I flew in GII, GIII, GIV, and GV sims that had 6 axis movement, very cool.

    Very cool. Thanks for sharing, Kevin. Jaime did a great job as I think flying sims is as hard or harder than the real thing. (Working on my instrument now and getting in some sim time in addition to air time). She nailed on the second try with instructor, husband and few thousand UA-camrs all watching! Great work!

    GREAT video K&J ! One of my favorites for sure ! I came for my favorite flying duo, but stayed for the “experts” in comments, who offered up their usual serving of never-ending critique. I’m guessing that your annual proficiency training and future ratings, can be done by simply reviewing comments on your videos. It’s unlikely that you will find a finer collection of experts, assembled in one place, ever ! From the humble C-172 to the F18 and C5, master instruction and critique is available right here ! 🙄 Safe skies Kevin, great time here !

    Nice video (as usual). Interesting sound recording. Played back several times with the stereo speakers set across the room in front of me and I would swear that Jamie's voice saying "you are a jet pilot" came from behind me. Probably because I knew she was in back and my mind was playing tricks, or maybe room acoustics, but it was so real it took me by surprise.

    Can never do enough training, especially on things, you can't practice in real life. Good job landing Jamie. Would it be better for her, and doable on that simulator, sitting on the right side, since that is, more than likely, the seat she would be in, if something happened. Hopefully, you can use the simulator some more and add other variables, like wind, etc., so she can get the feel of landing in that. Can't wait to see the new paint.

    • @310Pilot
      @310Pilot  4 роки тому

      Agreed on never too much training! Good point about the seat difference and we will be sure to do that next time. That would be easier than her dragging my lifeless body out of the left seat. :)

    • @trainmagnet5845
      @trainmagnet5845 4 роки тому

      @@310Pilot Training from both seats is important but mostly training, from the right seat, where she is likely to be, would help get her mind memory, eye memory, muscle memory, trained, so her actions would come to her automatically. Which is very helpful, in high stress situations. More pilots should take the time, to give those who fly with them, often, enough basic flying skills, to help give them a chance to get the plane on the ground, if something happens to them.

    I think in general that if your Partner knows how to land, thats a great thing, especially if you are flying together often. Great video as always

    The jet is a whole other ballgame for managing speed as you see! Going from a Seminole to a citation 5 it took me a bit too!

    Great video guys. Wtg Jamie. Can't wait to see her first real take off and landing. Should be awesome especially when you have a coach like you do. I'm envious. I'd love to learn to fly one day. Can't wait to see the new Bravo Charlie's Paint job.
