7:27 the artist couldnt have picked more beautiful or detailed still life to challenge himself. I dont usually go for any of the paintings but that one is exquisite gosh!
it is breath taking and im sure worth a lot more that the 5 k
Hilary was (and still is) a great looking gal!!!
I wonder what the other great problems with toast racks are.
I don't know why, but this comment has made my day.
@@jamesofarcadia ha ha quite
41:03 The de rigeur wedding gift was either a roast rack or a fish slice - certainly into the mid 20th century. Consequently, they are far from rare
Love the furious fake constable owner.
@Melissa Alexander. I didn't think he was furious, the truth had to be told.
What happened about the picture the owner thought was a Constable, please? Did they film the follow up?
Sadly furniture is not that valuable today, but still...
I'm American to and I learn alot from the show for my retail shop. And I do love it so
Geoffrey Munn looks like a kid!
Love to know what the scrimshaw whale tooth? (Ithink) was finally worth.
It’s a horn, not a tooth
I know Germany an America didn't use toast racks.
Love the Abbey at the beginning and it’s history. The High Altar reredos is by Ninian Comper-spectacular, one of his best works.
how to say your family was privileged: “My father bought these on the day war broke out.” Silver wedding cups. Not silver coins to hide in hems...Some large fancy cups...Glad the mother was furious! Maybe she was not so privileged growing up and she was more worried about feeding her kids...if the war came close...
I absolutely love the UK Roadshow so much!! I'm American, I love it so much more the the American one!
ah the vengeance of Mary Tudor...good for her-LOL...
Thanks so much for uploading these!
I'm still waiting to hear a Norfolk accent 😮
It looks like Earnst Barlachs works
Why did he want a quick word with Hilary?
Thanks!
27 minutes... his wife seems to have no voice about what she likes... talking about her like she isn't there. Maybe the woman next to him is a second wife!
There’s a very good chance that she wasn’t mic’d for the piece to camera.
Thank you ♥️
19:20 🙄
The man with the eggs. 🤔😅
I absolutely love the small regency table and the 3 pedestal dining table!!
Horrified how the antique appraiser handled the old devotional book without gloves.
And on top of that, the manuscript is not German. It is written in old Dutch ( I should know I am dutch and also speek German)
Professionals in the museum field believe it is safer to handle books and paper with clean bare hands than with gloves because gloves tend to be bulky and may do more damage than bare hands.
What he couldnt believe was 'how appalling the condition of the binding' was. nearly what 800-1000- years old book? the binding was probably purposeful in hiding or disguising the marvelous contents.
@@sweetdreams4789 I've always wondered why "duetchland' is germany. and 'sprekenzie deutch?' to mean do you speak german? (misspelled surely) I guess i'll have to look that up! I looked it up. Im still confused
@@kevinchambers4848 Not true!! Some very astute appraisers wear gloves that are hardly bulky, and they realize the delicate nature of the items.
I live there lol
Such a treasure to see these
✔️😊😊
Thank you.
At 34:00, why is he touching that extremely old book with his bare hands? Should he not be wearing gloves?
Any notice the faces on those marriage cups at 42:43? I think they look like Bunny.
The squeamish fragrance cellularly box because trouble coincidentally march concerning a precious stool. endurable, large ornament
Is this supposed to be a sentence?
Lol
