    YOU ARE A GENIOUS...AND THATS COMING FROM THIS OLD MAN. Im now losing the use of my hands, so it's super painful and hard to do a lot, so i love your videos. GOD is good. When i have severe back n joint pain, i think of someone paralyzed, and im sure they would love to feel a little pain, i pray, and now i watch your videos, and i love it. Thank you so much. If i lived near you, i dont have a lot of money for a steak dinner🙄, but I'd take you for coffee n eggs and watch you make something 🙂🙂🙂. My wife is probably happy i don't inker so much anymore 🙂. Have a good day.

    Many times I have posted that "DIY is the order of the day," here in the Philippines where I grabbed an early retirement. There is a literal army of folks picking up recyclable materials to earn a few coins. The junk shops along the roadsides, that "pickers" sell to will be the first place I look for raw materials for larger stoves like your new projects. Many folks have a few items out for sale as we walk and or ride around on errands,. Hopefully we will find some damaged pots for conversion. We are constantly dragging limb wood home when we walk around our subdivision. Family practice sessions are a regular thing around the fire pit where we BBQ and cook camp meals of the breakfast, lunch, and dinner varieties. We also have our young troops practice water filtration and then heat sterilisation over the fire pit.Your builds are great and just the right size for truck/van camping, and for emergency use. Thank you big time for this excellent post. We will work to get some time freed up to watch those "camping and bushcraft gear" list videos you mentioned.

    These are fantastic little stoves! I have several camp stove options, one of which I made out of a #10 can and all the rest are store bought.
    For some reason, I need a few more camp stoves now. This is a easy project that I can share with others. I thrift shop pan doesn't cost much at all, and these can be life saving.
    As a chef, this'll be fun.
    Thank You for sharing. I subscribed and can't wait to see your other projects.
    Sending Montana Love. ❤

      Thank you so much Montana Chef! I remember the first stove I made out of a coffee can when I was a boy and then I found a small hibachi at a garage sale and I got hooked on grills and stoves! I just counted my cooking options in my outdoor kitchen…13 between wood and gas and that doesn’t include my camping versions! Thanks for subbing and watching!

      @blademan175 I'm not a shopper. Can't stand shopping for anything other than food and frarms. After watching this video, I think I might be spending a lot of time in thrift shops this Winter. Old pressure cookers! I never even imagined! They're all over, because once they lose their seal folks would rather buy a new cooker than to put a new seal in. I'm reluctant to use aluminum for much these days. They melt if it's too hot. Speaking of melted aluminum, do you have any idea how to get it off a electric stove burner?

    • @blademan175
      @blademan175  20 годин тому +1

      @ yes, you can find some great deals on used cookware! Pure aluminum melts around 1200f but aluminum alloys will raise that. As for your burner problem, if you can remove the element, muriatic acid should dissolve the aluminum away but you have to do it in a well ventilated area and wearing a respirator is highly recommended as those fumes are dangerous! Might try a propane torch first with leather gloves and pliers or picks to see if that might do the job, good luck and stay safe!

      @blademan175 Thank You Kindly. I'll give that a try. At this point, I might just go buy a new burner. They don't cost much......

    Excellent ideas to repurpose cookware that was destined to the landfill. Cheap cookware can also be found at Goodwill. 8:28 I might recommend a 1" square pad on the bottom of the feet that if a hard surface isn't available, it won't sink too deep into soft soil or beach sand.

    Great channel! Some advantages of bigger than your heat source grills are, you can have while making a couple of burgers, 2 burgers in 2 opposite corners warming up or cooling off a little. Once the in the fire gets ready place them on top of the cornered or, place the hot ones in the other 2 corners, bring back to the fire the first burgers ready, place the others on top so the 4 stay as hot as possible while you prepare your breads, cheese or sides or toppings, or simply leave the burgers in pairs on a couple of corners to stay not too hot while you go get your bread.
    Consider yet making a bigger grill with handles that can take under 2 burners. In case you use 2 burners you can always swing forward the grill or farther the fire to avoid burning while also using the corners & extra spaces as hot pot/metal mugs with your chosen hot drinks. And since you're home you may share with the family your meals or if cooking for yourself just make the round ones as you mentioned. If adding 2 handles & the grill rests in the burner lip, you may add 2 extra handles for bigger pots to be stable & you carrying the grill with something hot evenly if you want. Just remember, things can slide from hot grills so I only would recommend you to carry something small enough or better to get the pan/pot/mug off the grill!
    Enjoy them, super inspiring brother!

    Well I'm inspired !
    I have a big old aluminum stewing pot down in the cellar that hasn't seen the light of day in decades ... I'm thinking that might be the beginning of something.

    Nice work! I’ve built several gasifier stoves as well as alcohol stoves and really enjoy the challenges of repurposing things I find in thrift stores into camp stoves. I might try doing a rocket stove next, have you made one yet?

    • @blademan175
      @blademan175  3 дні тому +1

      Love to hear that! Yes, a rocket stove was the first thing I made with the intention of making a video on it almost 10 years ago. It’s turned into a plant stand in my front yard and I’ve kind of forgotten about it. I haven’t looked in a long time, it may still be a unique design? Thanks for the question and for watching, I’ll try to make a video on it today!
