If you haven't already check out my first video on the fundamentals of How to play Bayonetta in Smash Ultimate here: ua-cam.com/video/ymfgALO6874/v-deo.html
This is the kind of video guides I need, with the inputs shown on screen and also with lowered speed to show the moment where the inputs are required. Bayonetta is one of my favs due to her comboing potential and her long off-stage recovery, so this guide is super duper useful. Dude, thank you so much for this!!
So sorry guys, I had to reupload because of a number of input mistakes. I didn't want to cause any confusion so I got them all fixed. If you could like and comment on the video again that would be great!
One problem I have with Bayo is that everytime I start with a combo, the enemy can airdodge out of my combo instantly like 90% of the time. This goes for both real players and cpu, I have no idea how to execute my combos faster.
Did you have the high ground? Haha sorry I couldn’t resist. But in all seriousness there’s a few things it could be. Comboing someone at 0% is a bit tough because knockback doesn’t last long at low percents. And if you’re trying to combo someone at really high percents the knockback may be so strong they’re getting pushed too far away. There’s no real easy way to combo fast you just have to practice it a lot. I would recommend trying to master the Up B to Up B combo I show off in the medium difficulty section. It’s the hardest for opponents to escape once you get it down. Hope this helps.
@@new2you410 Somehow having the high ground only makes it worse. Perhaps the archives are incomplete. Yes, 90% of the time they fall out of my combos or air dodges in what seems to be in the middle of my attacks. I'm trying to utilize the up B to up B as much as I can. It works pretty seldom, I think I hold the b button for too long, on the first Up B. But my biggest gripe is the lag on everything she does. I watch other people play her and it looks so fluid and smooth. When I do it myself I find it near impossible to play fluid, most of the time I watch enemy players punish me even if I land before them, I have to wait for her landing animation to end, even if I use down A to minimize the landing lag, it's still not fast enough. I know grabbing ledge is the optimal place to land but I rarely have that option. Thanks for your reply!
Oh I know what the problem might be. Like you said if you hold any of her moves they’re more powerful but also much more laggy. For air combos you want to make sure you’re just pressing her moves and not holding them or else you will have too much lag between moves. Also, if you’re holding neutral air for example and land you will have like double the landing lag compared to if you just tapped it. If you’re still having trouble we could always talk on discord and make an arena my discord is: Brennan#5299 May the force be with you.
@@new2you410 Thank you! I tried it out and it felt much better with the neutral air attack, I have yet to land another up B up B tho. I would be honored, I'll add you on Discord but I can't play that often because of studies. May the force be with you too.
Idk if you’ll see this but after six years I was finally able to get smash bayonetta looked really hard but also really fun and I really wanted to learn how to play her your two guides have been really helpful in learning her I really appreciate all the effort you put it the guide was really easy to understand especially when you put the inputs on screen thank you very much I hope you have a blessed day
A cool zero to deaths at any point of the stage on big characters is. Heelslide - uptilt - jump - up B - jump cancel up b - up air - jump - up air - side b- down side b- foward air. it also works on other character put its di depended
Thank you for making this vid I have been playing bayo quite a lot and I figured out a lot by myself but this has really help get better with the character
Very thorough! Not sure if you knew this one but at 8:47 you could have done a third Uair to land on the platform to reset and kill him off the top. It’s an amazing 0-death on battlefield if you can land a heel slide at ~0! Maybe in the future you could make an advanced-only guide and put some Enka style combos in there lol.
Thank you! Good observation! Yeah I actually struggle to do the three upairs in a row. It's probably because I don't do them with the C-stick so I'm stuck holding up on the control stick when I input them. Is that how you do it? DI in the opponents direction and just do the up airs with the C-Stick? I'm unfamiliar with Enka style, what is that exactly?
Here's a quick tip: You can actually get a triple jump (Technically). You can double jump up b cancel twice. If you used that twice you wouldve probably killed that jiggly puff even sooner when you used the bounce combo
I'm pretty comfortable with my bayonetta and I can do a lot of these already. But I struggle hitting immediate double witch twists at high percents I also didn't think downward after burner kick was a useful combo extension due to its awkward launch angle on airborne opponents
Yes I’ve definitely been experimenting with it! So far I’ve only found one thing that’s pretty useful for Bayo but if I discover anything substantial I’ll be sure to make a video.
Helloo nice tutorial id also like to point out a common combo too which is side b on the ground up air jump fair (this should get u on the platform) shorthop side b jump cancel witch twist side b jump cancel witch twist fair. This combo works on a majority of the cast and u can mix it up a lot with rar up air and such sometimes it's a 0 to death depending on weight and sdi
Great question! Personally I like to practice a new combo repeatedly in training mode on an opponent that doesn’t move until I can do it every single time without messing up. Once I get to that point I’ll start using it in real matches or if you want to practice it against a CPU that works as well.
@@new2you410 Thank you very much!!! I'm trying to give bayo a go as I'm starting to get frustrated with sheik's kill confirms. I imagine bayo will be even more frustrating but I'm gonna put in the hours practicing.
Bayo has a really fun moveset. It can be a little frustrating at first when you pick her up since she’s so technical but once you get the hang of things you’ll have a blast! You got this.
Yes, doing a double witch twist on an opponent with high percent is a lot more difficult. They want to fly away because of the knockback of the first witch twist so you have to input the second one very quickly. Just remember that you can’t input your jump cancel and second witch twist until the first one is completely over. This can be a bit tricky but I use the sound of the move as my que to know when input the next jump cancel WT. I talk about it in my first Bayo tutorial if you want to check that out. Hope this helps!
6:50 tengo una duda y es al momento de usar UP B to Up B mi oponente siempre se sale a altos porcentajes, aproximadamente a partir de 50% a 60% alguna solución para esto?
please help man i don’t understand i will up b then side b then cancel by pressing x so i can up b side b but after i cancel by pressing x and going up b the character is out of reach / behind me and i can’t turn her around mid air
Hmm I’m not sure exactly what you mean. You say she’s standing? You should be jump canceling mid-air between the two up Bs. You have to wait until the first up B is completely over before you very quickly hit jump and instantly up B again. Also, just tap up B don’t hold it or else it will have too much lag to jump cancel. You might want to watch my first video on Bayo’s fundamentals where I explain it.
In your previous video you mention Up B can be held to do additional damage but for comboing, is it done with the unheld version? does doing the held version have any impact on the combos?
Basically it all comes down to timing and speed. If you’re doing the jump cancel after an up B or side B you have to wait until that move is completely over before inputting it. At those high percents your opponent will want to fly away because of the knock back so you need to input your jump and then your next special very quickly. It’s a tough mechanic but you’ll develop muscle memory for it. Try practicing it on an opponent at high percent in training mode over and over. Hope this helps!
Having some trouble with combo2(am new to the game) so on the rare occasion I can even land the combo for some reason the cpu ends up on the opposite side of me after the second witch twist. And I accidently turning mid combo or somethin?
Bayonetta is a character that feels so foreign to play for me, so I'm trying to get better. I struggle the most with knowing how many jumps I have and jump cancelling; I often end up SDing.
Yes, if you’re doing Up B to Fair buffering works just fine. The only things you really can’t buffer with theses combos are the jump cancels because they won’t register. But generally, yes you want to input everything quickly so the opponent doesn’t have time to escape.
hey this might be odd but do you think you can maybe do one for joker and tips like the bayo ones because i switch to bayo the the tutorials don’t do it like you so do you think you can maybe do it with joker ?🙏
Idk, I don’t like the combos that start with heel slide, it’s kind of a bad habit to get into. Her heel slide is very very punishable and telegraphed, once you start vsing better players it’s very easy for them to just shield, and they’ll blow you up after that. It’s just not a good move for her to use in neutral.
There's some amount of misinfo, untrue examples and frankly, basically everything in this video is basic. You need to be showing people the things that aren't actually common knowledge and already easy to find on youtube

It really depends on their percent. It depends on the opponents size and weight but once they’re over 100 it should work on a lot of characters.
