It’s embarrassing to admit you fucked up but she took it as a lesson and tried to help others in the community. Keeping them sheltered from the world and all its dangers until they turn adults isn’t a healthy environment to be raised in. It’s honestly not surprising to me most of them lean to drugs, alcohol, and partying. It’s like taking a kid to the candy shop for the very first time, they wanna try everything and experience it all. It’s sad the community doesn’t see the overall affect it has.
I can understand the temptation to leave the Amish to see the world, especially for young people who want to experience what life is like out side the Amish community. The young people see “English” people with all this technology and imagine having the power to learn anything instantly and have the command at your fingertips the collective knowledge and history of mankind comprising thousands of years and being able to talk face to face with anyone instantly from anywhere in the world just about. That must blow someone’s mind that uses horse drawn carts to communicate and still relies on beasts of burden to farm.
This show is about their coming of age experience they get where they can experience English life and decide if they wanna stay Amish or stay English/Modern
As a fellow recovering addict i am so proud of Sabrina ❤
