Shoutout to these 4 guys for working so hard to keep this community alive the last 8+ years. I can't imagine how cathartic of a feeling it is for you all to see a new official controller release. Not sure what the future holds, but this is happening in large part due to this group of guys. Hats off to all of you!
Thank you, that comment made my day. The past few months have been kinda surreal, it's been a dream come true for me. It's already crazy that a new guitar controller is coming out in 2024, but the fact that the manufacturer wanted to work with me to help promote it is truly an honor, and validating. 10-year-old me would be proud.
1:19:18 It was actually schmegery who borrowed my guitar and then beat you on Sultans of Swing. I totally forgot that it was down to the last note, that shit was crazy. That guitar should go in a museum
In the beginning Jason's face actually got me. Its episode 23 and its still a really great podcast. I didnt really manage to listen to all of the episode due to me being busy. Good to see the 5 fret community still being alive!
I KNEW THIS POD WAS GONNA BE WORTH THE WAIT🤘🏽 lets hope i can squeeze my way in and preorder my Riffmaster but in the meantime im learning how to Zeroboard mod some old guitars
I don't know too much about songs that were specifically edited, but sometimes there were songs that would actually would fade out, so the last 10 seconds or so, the song would start to get quiet, even though that's when you'd want to finish with style.
After going back to catch up on all the episodes I missed hearing "Metallica faceplate when?" and knowing that you all now have a Metallica faceplate - an official one at that - is kinda insane.
possibly insane take, but I genuinely prefer pad/guitar charts for vocals to actual singing. aside from all of the weird intricacies exclusive to how vocals work over the course of RB/GH history, there's also the factor of how a lot of people just straight-up can't sing. having those as actual *chart* charts is a massive accessibility boon.
I think they should have both for both kinds of players. I personally would like Pro Microphone charts as opposed to playing with a controller. USB mic is fun for me
I really love the show but y’all need to be careful about talking over each other and interrupting each other! Noticing it quite a few times in recent eps and I hate feeling like anyone is getting steamrolled when you are all so interesting to listen to.
@@760creationsthat’s fair! I just worried it was shutting some of your anecdotes down so wanted to comment about it. I wanted to hear more about the strum bar lmao getting into controller modding myself and trying to understand the RB line better
@arthgc8710 Ironically, that's the *exact* argument I made with my friend. Sure, hardcore enthusiasts are into it, but a casual gamer isn't going to be picking up a $200-$300 racing wheel any time soon
For anyone that needs to hear this: A "sponsored review" is NOT a review. It is an ad. If money exchanged hands at any point, look for different source(s) of opinion.
I personally received the guitar for free, but no money for an ad deal. I am being truthful that I like the guitar. It definitely won't be my daily driver, considering the fact I mod guitars in the first place, but the opinions I expressed on it are genuine. I just want to see this genre succeed.
I agree with your sentiment, I share the same opinion actually, you should always be skeptical of paid promotions. I just want to clarify though, that only Alec was actually paid money to promote this guitar, and that was back in January when it was first revealed. Jason, JP, and myself were given the guitar for free, which tbf is a payment in and of itself, but there were no strings attached - the only deliverable we had was to promote the preorder date, which is today. Beyond that, our opinions are our own and were not paid for by PDP. Granted, there were guidelines about what we could and could not cover, but the main takeaway should be that we are all very passionate about this community and want to see it succeed well into the future, and having a manufacturer bring a new guitar to market is absolutely necessary for future growth and sustainability. #notanad
Thank you both for the clarification. I had no doubt that what you said wasn't genuine, it's just that sometimes people limit themselves by what they won't say more than what they do say. Regardless, it's good to hear that it wasn't a "#ad" in the traditional sense for the most part. This is something I'd be more clear with in the future, you don't want people dismissing your credibility for no good reason just because it says "sponsored" in the corner. See you on the GH Gauntlet later!
@@zanesix. Thank you. That probably would've been a good thing to mention during the sponsored segment, though I believe we do clarify our partnerships later on in the show
@@zanesix.to be fair they have said and demonstrated that Epic nor PDP are controlling what they say. If it were anyone else I think the criticism would be more valid, but these four people have spent *years* demonstrating their authenticity as community members

omg you're absolutely right. man that guitar really does deserve to go in a museum
Just bought one! Cannot wait to get mine!
I got it preordered, absolutely sick, the rb/gh/ch community has grown so much more today! I'm so happy to return back to the community!
JP speaks the truth; GH guitars are so easy to open up and mod, RB style guitars are a headache.
I just bought one of your solderless kits, figured I'd give the money to someone doing cool stuff as opposed to scalpers 👍

already got mine preordered!!!!!!
One song I remember being edited was "Our Truth" by Lacuna Coilin Rock Band 2. Harmonix made some significant edits to the final riff and the outro.
Man I was so nervous they were gonna break their Rock Band guitars when they were twisting them - also yikes, they can do that???? Unacceptable lmao
THANK YOU GAMERS I GOT THE FACEPLATE LETS GOOOOO
WORTH THE DELAY

Got my limited edition PS5 Riffmaster preordered this morning!! Can’t wait!!! Does anyone know if it might drop before April 30th??
Does the Xbox version of the Riffmaster guitar use a dongle like the PlayStation one does?
So when will JerryRigEverything get his complimentary PDP RiffMaster? Science demands it
@DankPods should have it
Riffmaster should be a pick axe in Fortnite with PDP sponsored events etc.

damn... $130? I was sold until then. I could get an older one for less. Hopefully it goes down or something.
I wonder how many more casual gamers will be picking this up for $130 tho
Just think about how many people spend 200-300$ on a entry level racing wheel for example
