The way they incorporated technology with the magic system just worked, and made the show better. Another thing that was disliked was the age factor. In avatar, the main character was 12 (technically 112). In legend of korra, the main character was 15, and the series ended when she was 18. This let them take a more mature direction with the show, and allowed for an older feel to it. The last thing a lot of people hated was the female representation. This show has strong male and female characters everywhere. There is a multi generational matriarchy who play a major supporting role here, and the main character is a young woman. The shownwas controversial in how it portrayed women and their rules.
