Remember that they had already been on stage for two and a half hours by the time they sing this. Great reactions. There are some deep cuts by Queen you would absolutely love!
“It’s TOO SHORT, like they’re just setting the mood!”😸 YES… BECAUSE in live shows, Queen always played “We Will Rock You” back-to-back in conjunction with “We Are The Champions”. As a matter of fact, at the end of this video, Fred is walking over to the piano to start playing “Champions” right after the guitar solo stops.
I saw this concert live. My dad took me to see it. Queen was my favourite band as a child and even to this day it is still my favourite band. I was 13 years old on my father shoulders singing along to these songs in 86.
We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions were originally done as two seperate songs. They were actually released on opposite sides of the 45 RPM single back in the day. On the album they were in sequence with very little space between them which was similar to songs on the album Shear Heartattack. US FM radio stations started playing the two together because of the shortness of the songs. I think I was 15 when this came out and within just a few days after the release everybody in high school knew the lyrics by heart.
You are right. it cut off as it was going into ..."We Are The Champions" .. I have always heard it that way. You will find them listed together on UA-cam--->We Will Rock You / We Are the Champions (w/lyrics) ~ Queen
First solo I ever learnt when I was 10 I'm still proud of myself lol That first power chord omg tingles He felt unwell I recall could be wrong My fave queen song is save me
Freddie Mercury is and was an incredible entertainer with an amazing voice and stage presence. This song came out in 1977 when two of Queen‘s songs meant a lot when my Portland Trailblazers won the NBA championship… Because we were the champions and we will rock you! I agree… Way too short a video but I think they may have been transitioning into we are the champions… But I’m not quite sure. Great review as always M!
Usually, 'We will Rock You' is right before 'We are the Champions' - so he may have dropped the octaves down to save for WatC. If the concert held to form, this would've been the penultimately song of the concert, so they were liekly a good 1.5-2 hours in.
didn’t they play this song during sporting events at The Juilliard School along with We Are the Champions? It was also used in the movie A knights Tail, which you may like.
I LOVE IT… THANK YOU, Mike!!! BTW… Because of the nodules on his vocal cords (diagnosed in 1975), Freddie did almost always sing lower notes in live shows to save strain on his throat. (This song is also near the end of singing for over two hours straight, as the Wembley concerts were about 2 1/2 hours long!) Aside from that, tho… Queen ALWAYS changed aspects of every song from its studio recording to the version they performed onstage, just to keep things interesting for the audience. Otherwise, Freddie said, folks may as well just stay home and play the records!
hi Maggie, if you haven't already seen it, I recommend you see all the performances of Giacomo Voli at the voice Italy, simply one of the best Italian voices , especially when he sings"impressioni di settembre"
Ref Freddie's voice. At this point in the concert, they had already been on stage for over 2 hours, which is enough to make anyone's voice suffer. Sadly, Freddie had been diagnosed with AIDS in 1982, and the symptoms gradually got worse, starting then, and culminating in his death 1991. Many people would have given up, but Freddie continued performing while he felt that he could still please the fans. He was still working in May 1991 on his final project, after which he needed needed private time right through to his death in November of that year. It was a sad time for rock music, and a great loss for music generally.
They hadn't actually finished their final album when Freddie died. They were halfway through recording when he decided he needed to step out, and he didn't ever get to complete it. That's why the final few songs have Brian singing instead.
@@edenphillips644 Innuendo was released nine months before Freddie's death. Freddie completed all songs on that album. The Made in Heaven album was released four years after his death and included some remixes of Freddie's solo stuff, along with recordings they had not completed before. A song on the album, "Mother Love," was Freddie's last recording and was the one he could not complete and Brian sang the final verse.
Maggie. the picture in your collage is not Freddie. It is Ravii Malek who plays the part of Freddie in the film Bohemian Rapsody....just an observation....
If this was 1986 it was after Live Aid and more than a year after he found our he had HIV so that may why he was not hitting the high notes. He was 'The Worlds Greatest Frontman' for a reason and an ENTERTAINER til the end. RIP Freddy!
Maggie, have you seen their performance at live aid 1985? If not, you will have a hard time finding something better. Band and crowd energy n performance is off the chart. They had only 20 minutes on stage,, but made most of every second. Even though they had to truncate a couple songs including we will rock you, they were fantastic. I believe you reacted to radio ga ga., just wait til you hear it live. Promise, you won't regret it. Love your channel, energy, and content. Thank you! 🙂
I love these Queen reactions ... what a great performer Freddie was! However, please more Meat Loaf ... another great (but different) performer and singer. There is so much Meat Loaf you haven't reacted to yet.
Your an opera star and your subscribers tell u to listen to this Queen sing?how about, the show must go on, inuenno,u take my breathe away live a young fred if u want to hear his range and voice!
I'm devastated, you threw away the peas, how can listen to We will Rock you without We are the Champions, they go together like peas in a pod, they even usually played them back to back at concerts like the album.
Yes, unfortunately the spam is everywhere. I go through as much as I can to remove those comments and hopefully it’s gone now. Thanks so much for keeping an eye out.
You cannot go wrong with any live Freddie performances!
The man was a master entertainer.
There are singers. There are performers.
And then there are entertainers.
of course 🥰🥰
They wrote this song as an audience participations song.
This song was also a lead in for We Are The Champions.
Remember that they had already been on stage for two and a half hours by the time they sing this. Great reactions. There are some deep cuts by Queen you would absolutely love!

Yeah, since the song is so short, whenever I hear it on the radio, they immediately play 'We Are The Champions' with it.
I saw this concert live. My dad took me to see it. Queen was my favourite band as a child and even to this day it is still my favourite band. I was 13 years old on my father shoulders singing along to these songs in 86.

The Best Rock Band in the Past 50 plus Years, glad u decided to react to Freddie Mercury
This song is fierce!! Every sporting event with a zillion fans stomping out the beat on the bleachers! Something to see and hear!!
This flows right into We Are The Champions. THANK YOU MIKE!!!! THANK YOU MAGGIE!!!! Been watching your solo covers! They are awesome!
You are right. it cut off as it was going into ..."We Are The Champions" .. I have always heard it that way. You will find them listed together on UA-cam--->We Will Rock You / We Are the Champions (w/lyrics) ~ Queen
I’d love your reaction to One Year of Love and the1976 HydePark version of You Take My Breath Away. They are mesmerizing.
First solo I ever learnt when I was 10
I'm still proud of myself lol
That first power chord omg tingles
He felt unwell I recall could be wrong

he was preserving his voice absolutely
didn’t they play this song during sporting events at The Juilliard School along with We Are the Champions? It was also used in the movie A knights Tail, which you may like.
For Queen there's nothing better than there last concert at Wembley. Apart from possibly them at LiveAid.
You really need to listen to “you take my breath away” Queen live in Hyde Park.
According to The Professor Of Rock channel, this and We Are The Champions are a "set" of a sort. Written at the same time.
it's a live performance, so they always change it for showmanship, but it's still a world wide known hit, synonymous with queen
Freddie was amazing - the Live Aid concert was something to see.
It was unreal, lost count of how many times I have watched. Freddie OWNED the audience!
And he was sick...🤘👍🎤
@martinkasper197 he would be gone too soon after that performance 😢
Dont worry - they did the same gig on Saturday, 12th of July - on Your birthday 😂
next queen i want it all
Pretty pretty please ..
Check out the Live performance of You take my breath away, just Freddie and a piano ❤
And then maybe the studio version 😊
You must see Freddie doing Barcelona with an opera singer
I LOVE IT… THANK YOU, Mike!!!

There is a fast version of this song that they used to open their concerts with. Very cool...even has a bit of bass solo from John Deacon.
I've heard him shift high notes downward when live before. My guess it's the difference between doing one song in the studio vs 2-3 hours in concert.
I was 9 years old at that time, I miss the 80s.
hi Maggie, if you haven't already seen it, I recommend you see all the performances of Giacomo Voli at the voice Italy, simply one of the best Italian voices , especially when he sings"impressioni di settembre"
Freddie always changed up their songs. When people went to a Queen concert, it was always new and fresh.
Ref Freddie's voice.

He was diagnosed in 1987. (It wasn't even called Aids until 1982.)

1:14 Well, this is not Queen, it´s Rami Malek photo from Bohemian Rhapsody movie.✌
i dont think so
Have you ever heard the "fast-version"...?? < it rocks! ♥
You are charming as always😊
Good morning sunshine 🌄🌄
Turkish singer called Sertap Erener and her song's name is Ask. I do wonder your thoughts of her 👍🙂😘
Thanks! YOU Rock! New outro! 🙂
YOU rock! Thank you so much!! 🙏💟👍🎶🥳💃🎉
👍❤️
Maggie. the picture in your collage is not Freddie. It is Ravii Malek who plays the part of Freddie in the film Bohemian Rapsody....just an observation....
Give to me
Yeah song is short. I think if memory serves it was mixed in with We are the Champions, which worked really nicely.
🥁🥁👏🥁🥁👏
4:00 This is kinda a "at war" version, compared with the "celebratory" studio album one.
No one compares next to Freddie Mercury ❤
If this was 1986 it was after Live Aid and more than a year after he found our he had HIV so that may why he was not hitting the high notes. He was 'The Worlds Greatest Frontman' for a reason and an ENTERTAINER til the end. RIP Freddy!
THANK YOU MIKE ❤
I just got finished with all your stuff on U-tube,all I can say is: You are

You do know that Freddy died years ago.
Why is she showing the movie version of freddy played by that actor ?
Queen absolutely great. But did you ever watch a video from Greta Van Fleet ?
Freddie could hit the high notes in the middle of the 80s because of smoking, excessive partying...drugs...
yes, afther 1982 his voice get lower
I'm devastated, you threw away the peas, how can listen to We will Rock you without We are the Champions, they go together like peas in a pod, they even usually played them back to back at concerts like the album.
@maaggierenee
Why am I getting a spam telegram not sure but do you police your comment section
Looks like a fake reply to me....
Yes, unfortunately the spam is everywhere. I go through as much as I can to remove those comments and hopefully it’s gone now. Thanks so much for keeping an eye out.
If you werent alive yet in 1986, can you paypal me money to get a rocking chair and case of Ensure? Lmao jk
