  • Thousands of people have gathered at an intersection in the Canadian city of Winnipeg to create the country's "largest living maple leaf".
The event, organised by Downtown Winnipeg BIZ, was filmed from above and released as time-lapse footage.
It formed part of the day's national celebrations as Canada marks its 150th anniversary as a country.

From an aerial perspective, hundreds of people looked like ants. I love how they dispersed. It's as if they already consumed food and just left on different directions.

Congratulations Canadians on your 150yrs. I shore do love your whiskey ( Crown Royal) Number One In My Book Of The Best Whiskey Ever Made. 👍👍

My Canadian Grandfather loved his Crown Royal. I am not partial to whiskey, myself, but I do long to repatriate myself to Canada some day. Unfortunately, even though my ancestors were among the first English settlers in Canada, I cannot afford to even visit the country anymore. America has bled me dry. Now I know why my grandfather never became an American citizen even after marrying an American and living in the USA for 40 odd years. Sigh.

Damn, all those excuses made by the seemingly useless railway companies in Britain over the years, regarding closed lines due to leaves on the tracks, this must've been what they were going on about.
    Sorry, I doubted them.
