- *UPDATE* I now have a new exhaust on my truck. I installed a Spintech 9000 series and it sounds 10x better than the Flowmaster. Get on my page and watch it!
My new to me 2011 Ram 1500 Sport with the 5.7 Hemi. I replaced the stock exhaust with a 3" in Dual 2.25" out Flowmaster Super 44 series muffler with 3.5x18" stainless tips that deleted the rear resonators.
Yup. Sounds good. It's a sound you'll never get out an EcoBoost . REAL trucks run V8's
Fuck yea just got the 44’s for Christmas, happiest 16 year old alive rn
Thank you for actually understanding how a flowmaster works and knowing it can’t pair with those stock resonators. I always say cut em out or the flowmaster can’t do it’s job of sounding like it should
Anyone else think that stock exhuast was still pretty throaty?😅
Excellent job on this video and I have to say the 44's sound really good!
Unique sound of a hemi 😍😎
Sounds great man! Nice and clean rumble to it. I'm getting the super 44 installed on my 2010 Avalanche tomorrow. can't wait. did you have one muffler with twin exhaust or two mufflers installed on it? Also, did you keep your catalytic converter or had it removed?
Sold. Well done. I hope they're cali legal.
IMO Hemi and Flowmaster were made for each other.
As a long I'm talking long time FLOWMASTER user this sounds nice. May I suggest the MBPR exhaust. MBPR sounds like a rumble in the jungle like Ali and Foreman. 😂
Sounds good
beast mode sound, great video!
Sounds nice
Thank you for the video
Sound a lot better with turn downs.
Yes I'll take it
I, love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks me too!!
This makes mew ant to do a before and after after video now. 03 ram 2500 is already LOUD but im putting a 44 series on my 3" straight piow with and E cutout. I was gonna do the super 10 but it wont be delivered for another month since its on back order. But nice clean sounding truck
David B. The only difference in sound between the super 10 and super 44 is popping, ask me how I know...
Yup it's 4x4 alright
Underrated comment lol
😂😂😂😂😂
Nice truck and exhaust!! Im deciding either the series 44 or the strait Y pipe w/ the resonators left on. I want performance though, and I'll lose some low end having the straight pipe..Plus, the wife might not like straight pipes!
Did you ever make a decision? I like the super 44. While I personally wish I went more aggressive, it definitely has a good tune to it.
AnimalYates Yea man, went with the super 44! Sounds great! I love the way dodge's sound, so deep and aggressive!
Christopher Breneman you can get a dynomax y-pipe part number 88029 for $66 at advanceautoparts.com.
Went from a puppy to a Big Dog !!!!
Nice sounding truck.
damn i love it
Veeery good !!
There's some confusion in the comments. Yates, did you go 2.25 diameter or was that the stock diameter? I measured mine the other day and I swore I measured 3.00 in / 2.25 out. I have a '14 Ram 1500 and I order super 44 with 3 in 2.25 out...?
Banqrup22. Its 3 in and 2.25 out. I just did mine today .
Banqrup22 2.25 or 2.50 will work. Two 2.25 or two 2.50 outlets to clarify.
just asking a honest question..but why does a ram take so long to drop back to idle? is the flywheel that heavy?
i drive a '00 silverado maybe my trucks just old..but after driving a '14 ram i thought id ask..
NineFiveEG. I have a ram and did the same muffler today and that's when I noticed it takes like 5 seconds to come back to idle. You can't just rev it to listen to it. I had to take it for a drive
Emissions. The slow return just means it wants to burn off ass much of the fuel it can instead of sending out unburnt fuel into the air. This can be tuned out I'm sure. Probably explains the rev limit in park too.
ChillCosmos I know this comments kind of old but that makes perfect sense. I’ve wondered the same thing the two or three years I’ve had my truck. I guess that’s also why our trucks don’t pop and crackle that much when we let off the gas
it's called rev hang and it's in the truck's tune program. it can be adjusted.
Is this a super 44 muffler only with no resonators?
What does that mean, no resonators deleted?/
I am confused with the dimensions. I know the in is 3" but are you sure the stock out is 2.25"?
Have you compared your sound with CB vortex?
Sherif Rehim I am sure the stock outlet is two 2.25 because that is what the pipe at the catalytic is for one. For two, if you get a flowmaster direct muffler replacement kit like the outlaw or American thunder, it utilizes two 2.25 outlets. You only get two 2.50 outlets if you get a full cat-back.
Question. So all you did was install the super 44 flow master to make your truck sound like that? Or what would I have to do to get my 2012 Ram to sound like that?
Yep, this was only the muffler. I also had the shop remove my rear resonators but that's all,
+AnimalYates sounds great man. I just bought a 2010 ram 1500 few months back. want to do something like this, are u able to tell me roughly how much it costs?
Richard Lynch, more than you can afford pal Ferrari!😂😂😂
I'm so turn between the super 44's and the 50 HD on my hemi Ram
Tim McWha Jr the 50 series h.d. is a super 40 that blocks out mds drone. The super 44 is a revised regular 40 series. The super 10 is a single chamber 44.
What is the parts number for that muffler?
REFxUxG just go to flowmastermufflers.com dude.
I don't really hear much difference between the stock exhaust and the Flowmaster. I think Flowmaster sounds much better on vehicles where the cats are deleted. Its a nice truck for sure, but it seems like there wasn't any change in sound. You will get some extra power though from the Flowmaster.
I'm thinking there is something else done on that truck. I have an 07 Jeep Commander Overland with the 5.7 Hemi. If I Rev her up it stops at 3 grand. Damn limiters lol
Jeffrey K No sir. In this video she was bone stock aside from the exhaust.
+Jeffrey K Gotta remember, the exhaust design is different for a Jeep vs a Ram.
Jeffrey K that's because of the restriction on the jeep from soccer equipment and shopping bags.
Jeffrey K you don't think that is stopping at 4k like it's supposed to stock? Trust me it is, cause I got one. If he had a tuner you would hear more valve sound because it would be revving higher.
What is the loudest most aggressive setup i can do to my 2011 ram 1500 5.7. Dont really care if its legal or not. I'm talking everything thing for mufflers, exhaust, converters, headers, spark arrestor, etc. Just want it to be the loudest it can be.
Thanks
Probably long tube headers straight piped and no resonators
Glass pack cherry bomb
open headers is definitely the loudest but you probably wont make it down the street without getting pulled over. Your chances will be a lot better with a straight pipe, I've even heard of people hollowing out mufflers and welding them over their straight pipes to pass inspection.
I would go cat-less with true dual 2.5" pipes into SLP Loudmouth resonators. That would sound amazing and loud af.
SpenDowdy10 Just do what I did, have true cauls with 2 10 series flowmaster mufflers (single chamber) with an X pipe, long tubes, high flow cats and 4"x12" echo tips. Trust me, I had a straight pipe and it was raspy as all get out and sounds 10x better now with the 2 10 series flowmasters
Yes it's 3 in 2.5 out from
Factory. How's the drone inside. Especially when the eco turns on???
Drone isn't too bad, for my tastes anyway. And the Eco makes it sound like crap, naturally. I need to get a tuner and would recommend anyone running exhaust does so, it sounds that bad.
do you have any drone sounds from removing the rear resonators?
Can you provide an example of this drone sound?
Honestly, would you go any more aggressive. I've never heard the series 44 outside of youtube.
Yes, I would go more aggressive if I had the chance. I may redo the exhaust soon anyway. Perhaps some headers through true dual flowmaster super 10's. Had them on an 09 5.3 Sierra and loved them. Have a video on this channel check it out.
Christopher Breneman the super 10 pops more, that's it. Stick with a super 44.
AnimalYates if you go true dual super 10's use an x - pipe.
Animal Yates can u send me a link for this exhaust please?
Matthew Lessard just go to flowmastermufflers.com and go to products, then street mufflers then click on super 44 then pick one 3in inlet two 2.25in outlets part number. Then go to advanceautoparts.com and type in the part number and order or take the part number to your local parts store.
do you think its too loud?
Lucas Brown no way. Actually wasn't loud enough for my tastes. I recently upgrade to a Spintech 9000. Video on my channel.
Deciding between the 40, 44, and 50 any opinions?
Matt Hummel, 44!!
Go super, super 10, 44, or 40 that is. Don't waste your breath on the regular 40 series or the 40 series delta flow. The 50 series h.d., notice I said h.d., is pretty much like adding a 3rd chamber to the super 40 to catch mds drone. At full throttle the sound bypasses the 3rd chamber. The 50 series h.d. and super 40 both have 5in. cases. The 50 h.d. is recommended for your truck. The 40 series is recommended on exhausts running 3in. pipe mostly, like trucks. The 44 is a better flowing regular 40 series with out the annoying aftersound of the 40 series. The 40 series and 40 series delta flow could be replaced both by the 44. The super 10 is like straight pipe with slightly less decibels, because it snap, crackles, and pops so to speek. Another option would be the thrush glasspack part number 24224 because it is a 3in. glasspack with a y-pipe on the end with two 2.5in. outlets. It's not as loud as you think and is pretty much a more affordable approach to this carven thing people keep getting.
Matt Hummel 40
O-H!
any mds ,backpressure, mpg problems?
Nope none at all. Only thing it did was make the truck sound like it should've from the factory.
AnimalYates Along the same lines, is there any in-cab drone with the MDS active? That's been the thing to hold me back...I can tell when MDS is active and I don't like the way it sounds with stock, I can only imagine this would be amplified with your setup. Video sounds great though - good job on that!
@chad0429 yeah you can definitely tell when MDS is active with the exhaust setup the way it is. It is annoying and sounds like crap, there is also a small amount of drone in-cab but it's not bad. I plan on tuning my truck and removing MDS, it's that annoying.
I love my hemi but am trading up slowly b 4 I upgrade parts 😎
cobra cherry bomb
Should have put on SLP Resonators and delete the mufflers. Trust me
Does anyone know how much flow masters 44 cost?
around 75 on Amazon
Thnks dude!!
eddie king like $90 dude.
Clean but weak
WEAK
