Stock vs. the flowmaster outlaw series cat back exhaust system for the ram 1500 5.7 Hemi. I absolutely love this system. HP and torque gains are noticeable and also improved fuel economy by 1-2 MPG! Bought a 2015 ram for my 17th birthday and put this exhaust on and my teachers yell at me when I use my remote start 5 minutes before the bell rings 😂😂.Love the sound though and I get a lot of looks pulling in the parking lot

I just put this system on my 2016 Rebel. It sounds amazing. Before I ordered it my wife was like it's not super loud is it? I was nah it's not that loud. First spin around the block after I had it put on and she's like you said it wasn't gonna be that loud! 😂

I just put the 3" Outlaw kit on my 2013Ram Sport truck just before Christmas and must say it is awesome. Guys at work say it sounds wild coming off the highway. Very little drone and I took resonators off. Took me an hour to install with little tools. Thanks Flowmaster!!!!!!

Luke Miller depends what you mean, still wastes gas, but at least its not clogging up in a catalytic converter creating destructive back pressure on the engine
I mean the cylinder shut down, multi displacement I think it's called. And yeah I suppose they do still use more gas than really necessary. :-)

I know this video is a couple years old but thank you for this! I'm going buy a 2017 Ram 1500 Hemi and I've been debating between this Flowmaster Outlaw and the Borla Atak. But I'm leaning towards the Flows because I LOVE that idle sound!👌

@@Joe_celano Does it have that muscle car rasp at low rpm's and on idle when you give it a 1500rpm Rev does it have that heavy breathy rumble? Mine did then I got my manifolds replaced because the bolts snapped and now that rasp it had that I loved is gone and also do you have a cold air intake added or any other mods like headers or tunes?

Yeah that's the same muffler. The only thing different is that mine is a full cat back system. The one your looking at will replace the muffler and keep the existing pipes

They stick out on purpose. The angle of the video makes it seem as though they stick out a lot more. But they stick out just enough to to see the flow master logo on top of the tips
+Joe Celano to each their own I guess. Factory tip location looks better. If you can fully read the name on your tips they are too far out. You need to read it in case you forget they are flowmaster? Lol

Yes it does! Direct bolt on system. But Depending on your cab and bed configuration one of the pipes may need to be cut. Other than that it fits right in
How’s the drone in the cab? I’ve had flowmaster before it the noise in the cab would make our ears ring. I know your gonna have some sounds in the cab but I’m just worried about a lot of the drone in the cab
Evil AMC it’s there but it’s not bad, can still have a conversation and music will drown it out but it will get worse as mds engages
tip clamps bolts are awful, had to put bigger bolts through as my tip almost came off, also the compression fitting upstream of the muffler was a pain to get off. sounds and loots great though

Are your tips and exhaust supposed to flex like that when under a heat load? Looks like they move back and forth almost half inch when you romp on it.

+Eric Losey yeah I'd say it's normal. most cars and trucks have some flexibility in the exhaust. I've never had an issue with anything coming apart either. but you gotta remember the the exhaust id only supported by rubber gaskets and hangers

Pappys Porch I haven’t had the chance to compare the two in person, but I would assume as far as loudness they’re probably about the same but have different unique sounds, the biggest difference would be that the outlaw system replaces the 2 1/2 inch pipes past the muffler with 3 inch pipes, but does add the tiny muffler

some but not bad. my cruising rpms stay low because i have a 3.21 rear. a bigger rear may have more drone since your cruising rpms will be higher
Alex Witherow I have just the Outlaw muffler fit and 3.92 gears. It drones a bit above 70 mph cruising but cruise speeds below that aren’t bad at all. You won’t notice it with the radio/music on
Just added this to my 17. Did u have issues tightening the clamps? How far back do the clamps go from the edge. Mine has slight leaks at all 3 fittings. Can i use foil tape?
You have to just cover the back of the Z-Notch with the clamps on both ends of the muffler. Then clamp them down tight. They say 80ft lbs but I didn't trust the bolt to go that tight. You can see when the clamp is closed all the way. No leaks so far.

RBL STRM it’s not really a cutback system. It’s just a section that’s the same lengths as the OEM muffler that clamps in its place. I’m just getting a super 10 welded on. Cheaper
Well, and that's what I'm getting at... why pay for pipe that you already have? If all I want is the sound and performance of the outlaw, and if I can get it from the super 10, then that's what I'll do too!

yeah it probably won't be as loud but it will have a similar tone. i have a 3 inch pipe from the cats to the tips
your truck sounds beast, especially when you hit the gas. and one more thing, if I were to get dual side exhaust for my truck, do I still use the muffler and the adapters too or that's something different?
i did a muffler delete for 1/4 of the price and it sounds the same.. if not even meaner.
I don't know what it is about the 4.7 but they sound ten times better then the HEMI with exhaust systems
