Could't come at a better time. Our pair are at the right age and with our lady's belly swelling we weren't certain what to be looking for. Thanks for the info!
Thank you for your video! I have 2 females and 1 male. ( just got them, first timer) one is definitely pregnant. Should I separate her from the male and other female? Or just the male? Will he harm the babies once they get here?
You're welcome! And yes, you'll definitely want to separate her from both. It's not that the other adults will necessarily be aggressive towards the new piglets, but they won't be particularly careful around them either.
Hi thanks for this video! I have a sow that I've been watching for pregnancy signs. we've had her for about a month. if she was bred when we think-she is due in about 3 weeks. she doesn't have much teet development but her vulva just became puffy and a little more pink (not crazy puffy but noticeable). will the vulva do this 3 weeks out? everything I read says the vulva doesn't begin to swell that early before farrowing. I'm worried she's in heat instead. thoughts?
This is helpful, thank you! In a lot of pigs, you can see that part of the anatomy at the vulva points up when pregnant- do you not find this to be the case with Kunekunes? I only have 1 sow, and she's my first, so I don't have a good frame of reference. I have the feeling piglets are on the way though. Thanks!
I have a pig and breed her when she's in heat... But her vulva swells again after 3 weeks.. does this means she's not pregnant.??.. Sorry i'm not good in English.. please respond i need to know... Thanks
It's hard to base it on vulva swelling alone, but if I had to guess, especially since it's at the 3 week mark (heat cycles typically occur every 18-21 days), then I would say that it's very probable that she isn't bred back
Another excellent video!! Thanks so much!!
Thanks again!
