The fly by wire system was probably the most important innovation that you didn't touch on. Most flight controls were connected with mechanical, physical systems at the time, and the F-16 was electronic. I never thought it was weird or dumb looking in any way. Everything about this machine is beautiful and it looks like the most aeodynamic thing possible. As for the name, falcons are my favorite bird, so I always preferred thinking of it as the Falcon.
When you call out fly-by-wire, the next word is flight-control-system FLCS which allowed the pilot to fly the jet in subsonic flight. As he mentioned, the F-16 is aerodynamically unstable.
The Viper is known as a brilliant jet at suppressing enemy air defense (SEAD). One Viper driver dodged SIX sam missiles just by maneuvering without even using countermeasures. The USAF has almost a thousand of these mean little jets!
In case you haven't flown it in a video yet, Panavia Tornado please. I used to love seeing these at the airshows at RAF Conningsby here in good ol' Blighty!
Oh yes panavia tornado however he would need dcs, war thunder or older simulator by digital integration to show it and he seems to be focused on flight simulator here but I'm new here to be certain
I swear Trevor does so much research for every episode and the level of commitment is like no other been watching since 350k Subs and still my favourite gaming UA-camr of all time
I work at a base that refurbs the components on the F-16, ...We specifically work on the radar systems and HUD systems ...we are already starting to refurb F-35 components as well...its an honor to be apart of our nations defense I'm going on 20 years working for the DOD...
The cockpit looks a bit awkward from the front but otherwise i don't even think the cockpit with the "bubble" looks that awkward, this is just a very sexy looking plane/fighter jet in my opinion. :)
I worked at an airport a few years after 9/11 which had f-16's stationed there. They would take off nightly for patrol around the boarder and when those things would take off with the afterburner, the noise was deafening. Beautiful sight as well.
I lived on Yokota Air Base in Japan when my dad was in the military. The only way to get from one side of the base to the other was driving over the ends of the runway. One day I was riding my bike as F-16s were taking off. I wish I had a smartphone at the time.
Actually the F-16 Fighting Falcon is used for new manufactured airframes. F-16V Viper is the designation given to any existing F-16 that is upgraded to the Block 60 or above standard. That's not opinion, that's per Lockheed Martin.
Fun Fact: The F-16’s nickname is “Fighting Falcon”, but most crew and pilots nickname it the “Viper” cause of its resemblance to a viper snake, and the fictional Colonial Viper star fighter from the show “Battlestar Galactica”.
I would love to see you actually work through the lessons to learn how to fly properly vs shoving it to the runway, etc. I think you will love flying even more when you know how planes work better (ex, "I think we are dropping" vs looking at the vertical speed indicator and altimeter to see if you are decending).
Hey Trev! Just wondering if you’re gonna be playing the new mortal kombat story? You’ve gotten me through so much over the years anytime I needed to destress you’re videos were always the best. Love ya man❤
Fun facts about the F16: after the Vietnam war we needed maneuverability. The f16 was designed to be a cheap and maneuverable fighter. All the screens were added later. The jet was designed with a lot of John Boyd’s ideas. The f16 was only meant to have 2 aim-9s on the wing and just be a speed demon. Anyway enjoy the pack.
What about the A-10 Thunderbolt. It's basically a flying gun. Tank destroyer. Such an amazing airplane. Or the F-4U Corsair. All time favorite warbird.
I love the F-16 Fighting Falcon. It’s one of my favorite jets along F-15 Eagle/ F-15E Strike Eagle and the F/A-18 Hornet/Super hornet. F-14 Tomcat will always be my favorite though.

I absolutely love the history lessons with each of these.
blue angels should just let trev teach them to fly
You got it wrong f-16 thunderbirds f/a-18 blue angels
@@allanthomas332Trev could do either though lol. He flew the f-18 in an episode about a year ago
@@aldenationvideos2582he also flew a UFO as well bro
@@aldenationvideos2582 true that and flown f-14 & f-22
Why would you even say that as a joke?

Ah yes, the F-16. The Falcon that keeps on fighting
As someone from the UK would love to see the Eurofighter Typhoon would be an epic episode!
Yes please! I need this!
CJ Simulations one though! The other one is awful
Its a Eurofighter. Not ukfighter lol

I can't believe I missed this video yesterday. The F-16 is literally my favorite fighter jet of all time.
ayo 4:48 is kinda wild tmartn2
lol I was like woah bro…calm down…
I love the F-16 so much, and it is smiling! In my pictures of it from the front, it’s SOOOOO happy.
Love that Swamp Fox scheme. I'm in the works to fly F-16s for their squadron.
Can’t wait to see these kinds of videos in 24

Great clarity, field of view and guide. A lot of realism and fun!

I agree. Besides, as silly as it looks from the front, it’s a very small radar profile from that angle, it’s like flying a pencil. They cant see you.

Love the content. IDK if it's in the game but "The Spruce Goose" H-4 Hercules is something that I would love to see.
I'm so happy he's starting doing Microsoft flight sim fighter jet vids again, not saying I didn't like the other games

Huh? Every f16 official name is the fighting falcon but everyone calls it the viper since it’s that’ll given nickname.
I really love these flight sim vids! Have a great week Trev.
4:45 what did u say 💀
Whenever Trev uploads a flight simulator, my mind instantly got reminded to ask him to finish ace combat 7 lol.
“Your gonna have to touch her the right way and make her feel right” TMartn2 2023

Turkish air force pilots are in love with this Jets amazing handling and the design
MSFS in an F-16 or Typhoon, with VR full throttle through the mountains is ridiculous fun.
Always love a flight sim vid from you Trev‼️
Its so cool to see you visit Norway! The flight simulator series are the best!!

I love these videos. The facts are awesome. Keep it up trev!
Why is no one talking about the fact that in 0:58 he almost hit the car passing by
The best series hands down can't wait for msfs 2024
enjoy these vids. just a dude enjoying some flight simming. hope to see many more. msfs 2024 when!?!
And I believe that bubble top cockpit roof helps with airflow and aerodynamics. Smooth, steady streamlines are critically important in that, anyway.
Same thing for automobiles.
I LOVE THESE VIDEOS OMG!!!!❤❤❤

Better known as the “Viper” this was the first plane my son started flying, he then transitioned to the F22
Words cannot describe how much I envy your son. Good for him.
My college is right beside Lockheed Martin so I see these types of planes all the time they are really loud 😂
Very nice Trev ,I really love F-16 Jet!
Loved this. Does MS Flight Sim have the Avro Arrow?
The F16 was a joint venture of The US, Denmark, Belgium, Norway and the Netherlands. It wasn't mainly produced for the US.
Pretty sure this isn’t true.
@@mike-0451 maybe you should read up about it then.

Maybe a good time for him to check out the legendary Avro Vulcan made by Just Flight...
wouldn’t say the F-16 is the most manouvrable fighter… but it’s still wonderful machinery
There is a game called Digital combat simulator (DCS) it’s an awesome pc game

You should do the U2 Trev very interesting reconnaissance plane with a cool story and a wild incident in 1960 spy exchange the whole shabang😂👍🏽
Rip 8,05 min. 😭💥
The top Mach studios f 22 raptor is a raptor unlike the one that you’ve flown 10/10 way better than the last one.
You should try forbidden west again
I bet Jas would be more agile hehe. Even think they did beat the meeeerica plane in dogfight training for some years ago🤔
