Appreciate the review. The car is beautiful. As for the trackpad, ADULTS who own an LC 500 hardly ever use the trackpad. ADULTS read the OWNER'S MANUAL and learn about all the features of the car and also VOICE COMMAND. Then, the first thing they do is run MENU/SETUP and select their default personal preferences which takes care of 95% of EVERYTHING. You can go back and change your preferences as often as you like. The trackpad is mainly there so you almost never have to use it. Using VOICE COMMAND, simply press the TALK button on the left side of the steering wheel, wait for the BEEP and then TELL THE CAR WHAT YOU WANT TO DO. No trackpad involved! For instance: "press button, wait 2/10ths second for beep, say "radio", say "AM 760" and the radio goes to that station. Or, press button, "say FIND, say PIZZAHUT and you get several choices, say the CHOICE NUMBER" and your GPS will guide you there. Or say "Text John Smith and tell him I'll be ten minutes late". In the rare event where VOICE COMMAND won't do everything, such as warm the seats, you simply press the button and say "SHOW SEAT HEATER SCREEN" and you're right there to simply slide your fingers up or down a bit. So, having covered this "trackpad is garbage" subject, we can now all agree on one thing. This car sells for about one-third of what it is worth. When you consider EVERYTHING including Lexus RELIABILITY which means it will never leave you stranded by the side of the road at 2 a.m. because a cheaply made, poorly designed circuit board failed and/or if you ever needed one new wheel bearing it won't cost $750.00, as compared to many other cars costing three times the price, THIS IS THE ONE HELLUVA CAR. I've had my 2018 for just under four years. It's InfraRed with Toasted Caramel. I drive it almost every single day but I know I am not a race car driver and don't drive on the public roads pretending to be one. It's plenty fast. It steers well. It brakes well. It does everything it was designed to do without exception. The trackpad has never been an issue because I learned VOICE COMMAND and didn't assume I knew everything there was to know about this highly, complex machine. As a side note, I opted for the 20" wheels because living in the San Francisco Bay Area means driving on more pot holes than smooth road. With the 21" wheels, if you hit a pot hole at 65-70 mph, you aren't going to be happy. I recommend the 20" wheels but that's just my opinion. My car has been 100% perfect. No problems. No squeaks. It's just absolutely flawless! Sometimes, even after four years, I just sit and look at the car and can't get over what a marvelous looking machine Lexus brought to market. These are the best cars produced today but...isn't it nice to have a choice???
@@CompletecarIe You missed it again. I only use the trackpad when VOICE COMMAND doesn't work...which is hardly ever. The trackpad is there SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE IT. It's dangerous to take your eyes off the road. It's much safer to talk to the car and tell the car what you want it to do. You SHOULD LEARN VOICE COMMAND and then you can join THE ADULT CLUB.
4:35 the feel of driving those Toyota CVT's is awful. On video, the mic doesn't usually pick it up as well as you have. It sounds like a mix of wheel-spin or clutch slip!
Glad you liked it! Colour choice is down to personal preference, but I'd have red over white for this. There are loads of other great colours available, including a distinctive mint green. LC and F-Type are very different cars. The LC is probably the better car overall, but my preference depends on the powertrain fitted. I prefer the hybrid LC to the four-cylinder F-Type, but it might be the other way around when it comes to the V8 Jaguars! ^ Shane
Great vid but those damn insects flying around were a real distraction well done for managing to ignore them, it really looks a fantastic car nice review.
Ordinarily I prefer a V6 over a V8, but this sounds awful under hard acceleration, so it would have to be the V8 LC 500 for me. This drivetrain may be acceptable in the LS 500h, but not in a car that is supposed to be a sporty GT.
Great car, now if only they'd get rid of that gawd awful Alcantara and instal some premium leather which a vehicle at this price point deserves, they'd have a winner!
The Alcantara isn't bad at all. My car is four years old and the Alcantara still looks like new. On hot days, it doesn't get "hot". However, all leather seats are an option and also not a bad choice. Honestly, I had the same feelings four years ago about the Alcantara but I was wrong. It's not a problem unless you simply don't like the look.
The cool thing about this Lexus is that its performance is helped by the 4-spped hydraulic fear box after the Toyota Hybrid system. But it's still a lean and old Lexus at the heart of it. Instead of a 52hp peak battery that's juggling between assisting power, starting and adjusting engine speed and regening - Toyota/Lexus missed out on making this a superior plug-in hybrids with more battary power and energy capacity.
I'd rather have them stick to self charging, in practice people don't really charge plug in hybrids that often and whole benefit of even better fuel economy isn't realised

Wonderfully stated guy wonderfully stated
We appreciate that some people like the trackpad. Glad to hear that you've had such a good experience with the car.
100%

I'd be inclined to import the V8 full beans version of this. Apparently the driving experience is night and day between the two.
In everyday driving the hybrid delivers almost as much performance with less running costs.
Dash moves also in rcf, don't knock track mouse it has its values.
We accept that some people like it, but not everyone does.

Great review thankyou it a piece of modern art.
Glad you enjoyed it
Have exactly the same one, same color and I ❤ it.
Great car!
Epic video, gorgeous car
It really is! Such an underrated car, and properly rare too
Hi! Great review! Which colour is the best for this vehicle: red or white? Which car do you prefer between LC and F type? Thank you

Excellent choice!
I love it . I have the 2018 rc300h in white. It's amazing with the f sport Dashboard . Lc500 I think will be my next car. I just have to have it. Lol!
Good choice! It's one of our favourite cars too.
Great vid but those damn insects flying around were a real distraction well done for managing to ignore them, it really looks a fantastic car nice review.
Thanks! It's not always easy making these videos!

Good choice

interesting video
Glad you think so!
I am in 2 minds about the 2017 model of this, or a 2010 Audi R8
The Lexus is a more considered choice we think. ^Dave

Better check the price of alcantara before you pug your foot in your mouth.
A Lexus that's more like a Ferrari ? but is reliable
Excatly!
