Thanks doing it! Yes I'm in the opinion that Floor doesn't always sing the best version of Nightwish songs. Yes that claim is often made in comments. I initially estimated in a comment I made, that there is about 20-30 reactions to GLS. When I started counting, I soon saw that was a huge underestimation, and new reactions come several each week. That made me curious to see how much reactions get the songs where I don't think Floor shines. You say this was good. And I see other similar comments. If this is good, why so few reactions, why isn't it suggested?
This had quite good audio quality! But audio quality matters big time. Almost every Anette's live videos has even worse audio quality... yet people somehow can tell it was a bad performance. People, go see what comments people make on this perfromance's page. Seems like people seem to be able to make a judgement, either great or sucks.
Audio quality for sure isn't the reason why these had so few reactions. I mean, you can say that Floor didn't sing this the way Tarja sang it and I guess that'd be true, but I wouldn't say that she doesn't still shine. She's not as operatic as Tarja but I feel like she more makes up for it in versatility. Nothing against Tarja either, as I've been a fan since their first stateside release and I fell in love with the band with Tarja as the singer. I appreciate all three singers and what they each brought to the band.

No really, there is a difference to Tarja's favor what comes to operatic singing. I think Floor's Nemo is pretty good, and with superior audio/video quality from the Wacken concert. Can't think other reason why it's not popular, but because of Tarja's version. Her Sahara is even better than Nemo, I just personally think she is boring in Sahara, sings it monotoneously. I know Anette doesn't shine in Sahara either, but it's more lively to me sung by Anette. Edit: just meaning Sahara is not among my fav Anette's songs... but her version still is the fav Sahara to me.
I didn't notice any thing bad about Floor's version. Tarja's version sounded like Tarja to me. When I discovered Nightwish on UA-cam it was with Tarja. I fell in love with them then. Then I found the Floor videos and I was still in love. The only difference is that Floor is more versatile in my opinion. They both have beautiful voices. What we need to remember is Tuomas had not written such beautiful music we would never have heard them sing these songs............. :-)

Well, that is imho the reason why "Deep Silent Complete" and "10th Man Down" are songs where Floor doesn't shine. Yeah there are operatic staccato sung in The Siren as well. And so is in Ghost Love Score.
I love Floor's version. Tarja might do the ah-ah-ah-aaaahhs with more operatic precision and her version might be a bit more haunting, but Floor? I believe she *is* the siren. As for the meaning of the song, you're on the right track. The original idea came to Tuomas from a documentary he saw about this Scottish lady who would go to the rocky beach to play her violin to the seals, but mostly the song seems to allude to the Greek mythology -- though Odysseus tied himself to the mast, not the wheel. :D
I know this video. The audio sound is pore . It don't even match with the video, because the audio is not from one of the different performances you see on tape. So how can any person say if she did a good ore a bad job with this song. I think you have to deal with a Tarja fan here.

This is far from the super quality of Nightwish recorded and post produced Wacken, Tampere and Wembley concerts. Yeah I still don't think the singing was great.

Tarja did 3 albums classical operatic style and 2 in contemporary style. When Floor does Nightwish's classical style songs properly... then you would have a point that Floor would be as or more versatile. At the moment Floor is just as versatile as Anette (and there's no growling style songs in Nightwish).
Yeah Tarja can do one style. Period. She does that style well. Floor does every style well. And not just that, the way she moves effortlesly between them is perhaps the most impressive part of her singing. I liked Tarja back in the day and respect her part in the band gaining popularity in the early days, but if I had the choice I would definitely not want her back. First of all this songs are made for Tarja voice and diapason. Second Floor took just 1 year of classical singing not whole academy. And last i think she doesn't have the time to change all the songs to her adjustments. How ever she is doing a very great job, take Gethsemane for example live in Helsinki

People get used to one version, then automatically dislike a newer version. All Nightwish singers are DIFFERENT, not better or worse than the other. Floor is a VERY skilled singer.
You could expand since you´ve listened to Finnish symphonic metal you better listen to some Swedish metal.... ;) !! Like Brothers Of Metal - Yggdrasil or Prophecy Of Ragnarök or if you like beer their song Mead...other great bands Arch Enemy or viking/pagan/folk metalband Månegarm. Månegarm - Hemfärd, Månegarm - Hordes Of Hel, Månegarm - Hervors Arv, Månegarm - Blot, Månegarm - Nattsjäl, Månegarm - Blodörn, Månegarm - Mother Earth Father Thunder...Månegarm is one of my personal favorite bands they have one record in English and the rest are in Swedish.....thx for your reactions and may your channel grow so that you maybe can strike even.... :) !!
I don't think it's bad vocally, but stylistically it's not great, most fans just associate this as Tarja's masterpiece, that will always be the go to, this is still enchanting though.

Despite the big audio quality difference, she is compared to Floor's performances. Sure this wasn't the super quality and post production done to the Wacken, Tampere and Wembley concert vdeos recorded by Nightwish.
This was plenty good enough audio quality for LIVE reaction. There's some people who only accept super high quality, but it's up to the person who reacts. Otherwise the only thing you have are official videos. And it appears there aren't much better live versions of Floor's The Siren. Best quality I was able to find is this: ua-cam.com/video/6UDMceDwU0Y/v-deo.html. It's safe to do blind reaction if the song has millions of views, it's likely good quality. But how about listening a few seconds? It should tell if the song has good enough quality for you. It's still first reaction to it when you watch it properly.
