I love all nightwish song, this is one that is with in the top 5 on my list. Y'all should do the opening song to this concert.

Guitarist Emppu is a black belt judoka, won Finnish youth championship two times and in Nordic youth Tournament got bronze (his weight class).

One of the best NW songs (in my humble opinion). That drop from operatic back to heavy towards the end is simply epic. Great reaction. Keep up the good work. You will soon get to a point where almost every NW song is a ‘favourite’, and when someone asks ‘what is you favourite NW song’ your brain will just seize up 🤪. Looking forward to seeing a reaction to Dark Chest of Wonders - the opening for the Wacken 2013 show, and one of the best show openers of any concert ever (also in my humble opinion). In portugal i remember this song starts to play in radio, and it was the most radio song ever from them since the 90´s. This song on radio (the studio original) made them to be noticed. somewere between 2002 to 2004....
When Floor gets the crowd chanting I envision thousands of Vikings listening to this to get jacked up for a battle.
Whatever guard you have up, when Floor's voice comes in she cut's thru it like a fresh sharpened butcher knife and get's you right into your soul and while your bleeding out you feel satisfied.Go for high hopes, without Floor but a real great song! Even Gilmore gave tribute to it!

Enjoyed your reaction! This song is from their Imaginaerium album, a concept album based on an old composer on his death bed relieving the memories of his life. One of Tuomas's favorite topics or themes in his music is lost innocence. As a poet and artist Tuomas values the sense of wonder and imagination that innocent children have. In Storytime the composer is remembering the joy he got from childhood tales, thus the references to Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland (Tuomas often uses literary references in his lyrics and as inspiration for songs). It is through these childhood stories that we discover ourselves and who we are (I am the story that will read you real). Song is inspired by a popular British Christmas movie The Snowman. Storytime" was born when Tuomas wondered why no-one had made a remake of the film, and pondered on what his version of the score to the scene in which "Walking in the Air" plays would sound like. Tuomas ""How would it feel to take a midnight flight with a snowman through the most wondrous landscapes, like in the classic animated Yuletide film? The meaning of our very existence is created though stories, tales and imagination. They are at the very core of humanity." Walking on the Air is a very popular Christmas song in the UK and Finland and Nightwish did a beautiful cover of it with their first singer Tarja that is worth reacting to.

I know Tuomas is a huge Disney fan, and those lines above, for me, call to mind Mary Poppins very strongly…as much as the imagery from Peter Pan.

He contributes backing vocals, occasional lead vocals, tin whistles, low whistles, Ulleann Pipes, Irish bouzouki, guitar + E-Bow, and any other instrument that might be lying around. The Gringa - The keyboardist who composes the songs (Tuomas) is highly influenced by Disney, and Floor has done fantastic covers of "Let It Go" and "Into The Unknown". She was pestered by her daughter during lockdown 😉
We would be happy if you wanted to put on subtitles so that you can see the lyrics on screen when you react. They are not always correct but they are pretty good

@@TJandTheGringa Make sure you get the remastered version from her YT channel. It was her and her husband's (Hannes Van Dahl, Sabaton drummer, and videographer in training) first try at doing video covers on YT, and Floor's voice in the mix was a tad low, so they quickly corrected it and re-issued.

Weak Fantasy is one of my absolute favorites also try a newer song Tribal . I seen them in Boston in 2021 by far my favorite concert ever . I flew half way across the USA to see them so worth it !

Yes, Nightwish is a group made up of ultra-talented musicians who play for the song. No egos here. You never get bored because every song is different and there isn't a bad song in the bunch. Someone else suggested High Hopes next. I totally agree. Time for you to see what Marko (and Emppu) can do.

Dark Chest of Wonders is a great opener of this same concert. Song of Myself is one of my top favorites along with Storytime. Ok so this whole concert is amazing.

In this very special show Epica has the orchestra and choir on stage with them, whereas Nightwish normally has written and pre-recorded London orchestra and choir backing tracks they use in the album tracks and on stage, all coordinated by the keyboardist/.composer.
Epica's singer Simone is phenomenal as well, and the 2 of them harmonizing together will blow you away.

It's important to Keep in mind this was shot in early August and Floor had turing constantly with the band since she joined them to finish their north America leg of their past tour roughly 6-8 months. They haven't gone to studio to record new songs so she is still singing songs written for other singers..... and owning them.... that is all

There was always something about the chorus of this song that felt strange but i couldn't put my finger on what it is until i saw a composer analyzing the video and explained it. In over 90% of songs the singing of verses goes from low to high notes and in this chorus they go from high to low which is harder to pull off correctly and so its rare.
❤❤ All songs are different & the next one will be your new favorite - so I recommend „Everdream“ (Wacken 2013)… BUT „High Hopes“ will also blow you away… a phenomenal tribute….
