After listening to this version, studio version sounds like a cover by another band. Floor absolutely owns this.

* To me Ever Dream is a song about longing for true love, about longing to find that special someone.
* He really believe that true love exist but you do not know how to find this.
* Every now and then you stop and wonder what it will be like when you find them. (I think that’s also how Tuomas the songwriter sees Tarja’s voice as the perfect singer for this kind of lover).
* She will be the kind of person who is so perfect that they'll make every bit of hell you have had to go through worth it and then some.
* It is dreaming about a person (singing perfect like Tarja??) and wondering if maybe, she she dreaming about you too (even though he knows they will never get together).
* But (in his imagination) this person is not just a passing thought, dreaming of her is his lifeline. She represents hope. And Tuomas: he definitely is looking forward to find someone singing perfect like her and I think after decades he finally did met that kind of love in his current wife Johanna Kurkela. After 2012 Nightwish and Tuomas performed a lot of more enjoyable songs in a much more joyful setting than ever before. He could also play without too much pain melancholic songs like ‘Poet and the Pendulum’ and everyone can see they have so much fun on stage. I think sinds end 2012 when Floor entered the band Nightwish’s mood has changed dramatically into the good direction.
Any Nightwish is great. Doesn't matter what order you play them in, each one is better than the last.

The sound is good, loud and clean. I like the format too, it's cool to see the whole vid with you just chillin in the corner. You're not reacting during the video much though. You could literally be watching a seminar LOL
Well, this is just who I am naturally. I understand if it doesn't appeal to you but I would rather have that than try to react more than what comes natural. It would feel dishonest

Lack of punctuation is what's known as poetic license. It makes the meaning more ambiguous, more open ended. For me, it's about knowing that you will never be with that ONE soul that means the most to you, no matter how much you try.
I'm going to bore you to death for a minute. There used to be the concept of "courtly love". Way back when, girls were married off to whom ever their fathers chose for them. If she was VERY lucky, her parents might present her with a list of names of men she MIGHT have met before, and told that her future husband would be one of them. Marriage was about BUSINESS, not something as ridiculous as love. And getting a girl married off before she caused her family TERRIBLE shame by some transgression was always in the parents' best interests, because no one would marry a "fallen" woman.
So girls grew up knowing that how they felt about someone had nothing to do with marriage. You were the property of the man your father gave you to. You and your husband could become friends and care for each other over time. Maybe. But there was always the knowledge that you were his chattel, kept because you were part of a business contract.
BUT....it was understood that you could have emotional attachments. Someone who would write you poetry, or songs. Someone who might send you little gifts, little notes, or who could sit near you and give you long smouldering looks. Someone who could let you know that he thought you were just the most beautiful wonderful girl in the world, and if things were different, he would carry you away and make your life all fairies and snowdrops. As long as a girl had supervision, she might have this person round for a visit in the garden, to flirt harmlessly with them. A lot of cast down eyes, eye lash fluttering, giggling, fan swishing, blushing, and other such tomfoolery.
There would NEVER be ANY impropriety of ANY kind. Because the WORST thing that could happen would be for RUMORS to start up, about maybe this little "romance" had gone a bit too far, and that maybe her husband couldn't be sure that the next baby was his. Because THEN, she and the baby could be tossed into the street with nothing, and her own family wouldn't take her back.
You can't help who you love. If you're lucky, you get to be with THAT person. But life is rarely that fair.
