Double overhead cams, torsion bar valve springs, in 1965 it was possibly the most advanced mass-produced engine made. With a screwdriver and stethoscope a good mechanic could adjust the valves while the engine was running. Centrifugal oil filter never needed replacement. A four speed at first, also ugly at first, it gave one the impression of being a bigger bike. About 1976, Honda increased the stroke by 7mm to bring it up to 500cc, which ruined it. The 180° crank was pretty smooth even without counterbalancers, but the 500cc version could shake your teeth out. Top speed was actually about 90mph, despite "140" on the speedo. Honda's claim of 45 horsepower was probably 10hp optimistic. For its time, there was little to complain about, except the fact that an RD350 could eat it alive. I had a brown 1972. I wish I had kept it. I wish Honda would make more of them.
Did anyone else notice that " SWITCH A SWITCH "??????? moved the ignition switch to the top triple clamp!! Had one for my 1970 CB750 😁😁😁😁😁🏍🏍🏍🍺🍺🍺🍺
This exact model and colour was my first purchased motorcycle. Excellent machine and great fuel mileage!
Always good to hear Led Zep in the background!!
These are great old bikes. I've wanted one since I was a teen....I'm 65 now! 😨
Actually nice to see one that hasn't been turned into a cafe racer.
Outstanding bike, was able to run with the Harleys and the 650 Beezumphs. Those were the days.
