- Come take a ride on the very last (V) in service from 2Av To 71-Continental Av.
The (V) ran from 71-Continental Av in Queens to 2Av in Manhattan from December 17, 2001 To June 25, 2010.
The (V) was discontinue on June 25, 2010 Due to the 2010 MTA Budget Cuts.
The (V) was replaced by the (M) which now mimics the (V) by 99% From 71-Continental Av to Broadway Lafayette.
The only stop not covered by the (M) is 2Av which just has the (F) stopping there.
This is awesome! I love how everyone is screaming and having a good time WITHOUT vandalizing the train
[clears throat] December 19, 2021
I'd maybe bring back this train
“Attention, customers! Final arrival at the terminal for this V train. When it arrives at the terminal, V line will be history. This is the last V train! The last V train! When it arrives at the terminal, the V line will be no more.”
RIP (V) train u will never ever be forgotten even if ur taken out of service 🫡
So this explains why 2nd Avenue Station for the F has 4 tracks every time I pass it
That and I read before that the 2 middle tracks were supposed to cross to Brooklyn to a station at south 4 street I think
The Dedication to these videos makes me feel inspired. Keep up the good work.
Thanks
@@NYCREDBIRD During the V’s run, when this station was a terminal, it was called Lower East Side-2nd Avenue, to make the terminal more appealing. Both Kathleen Campion and Carolyn Hopkins recorded their station announcements for the F and V, respectively. When the V was discontinued, the station was shortened to 2nd Avenue as it is no longer a terminal, and Campion’s program is now used on all NTTs, only removing Lower East Side.
@@jadenmuniz8817 nice
@@Dragon-Slay3rsorry for my mistake did u know the V’s announcements were actually done by Carolyn Hopkins? Her voice is very similar and that’s why she’s often mistaken for Catherine Cowdery. Cowdery only made announcements for the E, J/Z, L, and M lines. Today u can still hear Hopkins on the 7, G, R, and one Q train in the AM rush.
(V): Take care people lovvvvvve u guys🧡🧡
(F): Going to miss u brother 😢👏👏💔🧡
(M): 👏👏👏
(B): 😢
(D):😪
I wish the [V] made a comeback along with the brown [M].
???
immense amount of nostalgia
thanks for uploading this, been waiting a long time for a video to surface.. don’t ever take it down
I wrote this comment almost exactly 10 years to the day after the V ended
when i was very young i recalled the map having a yellow square at 2nd ave and then one day it suddenly wasnt there along with the brown M not being brown anymore and now that i grew up i knew what happened
It’s enough to make a grown man cry
Ah yes, I remember The (V). I wish it came back tho.
Same but then again it doesn’t need to exist.
Maybe in the future as part of a new subway route the V train will come back. Who knows
@@Amiri_Francis there was a proposal to make the (V) (W) And (Z) run on the 2nd Avenue Line So Maybe it will happen
I was in the L train but then it turned into the V
We have M train to take its place
bring back the V as extra service along 2nd Ave; Canarsie - Rockaway Pkwy to 96 St, weekends to 145 St, 168 St or 207 St
I never took the V train but damn that was pretty shocking how they removed it
This is sad my heart dropped when i saw this vid
No it isn’t
R.I.P V train, 2001 - 2010.
I gotta say. The (V) helped with the (M) reroute. The service is much better now because no one crowds the (F) as Essex. The (M) helps out. So really the (V) was a pretty useless line to begin with. The (M) & (V) merger helped save crowding. Thank you (V) you were a useless bastard but you saved yourself for what was right in the end.
i would say the orange (M) is useless and the (V) and brown (M) were better
@@realAutoman How? The merger helped a majority of riders get to where they are going.
@@TheRailLeaguer yea, the Brown (M) was useless because it made extra stops in Brooklyn, and the (V) made no alone stops. So they took them out of service and have the orange (M)
@@realAutoman no, the (V) and brown (M) are useless and orange (M) is better. Idc if the orange (M) is trash
They only brought back the W, because the Q was going to 96th St and the N train riders had a place to breathe.
i miss the V train
K train idk? Probably it's back in service. The 9 🤔 idk? But yeah let me know if it should return?
exactly 10 years ago, the "very" end

4:24 Downtown 6 Trains?
Yes, prior to 2012, you could only transfer to downtown 6 trains at Bleecker Street. They had to shift the Uptown platform south in order to connect it with the 6th Avenue Line.

If The V Train Was Back , Shouldn’t Run From 71st Avenue To Bay Parkway Where The D Train Is?
No.
Instead, The V should Run from 145 St to Kings Highway, only in Rush Hours, at late nights, a (V) shuttle. Runs BWAY-Lafayette to Bergen St.
At (V) train returning service, it can have R160A/B, R179, and R211 from 10 Cars.
At Late nights, it has R143s or R179s at 4 Cars

The v train is replaced with the m train
12 years aho today it got discontinued
Why the closed V train
Because the v train never made no alone stops so that why they killed the v train

How to bring back trains threaten and protest
Why?
Some people just want it back. I mean they did bring back the W but at this point with the rerouted M there’s no point in bringing back the V.
Do y’all really think protesting for a TRAIN ROUTE will do anything
@@Amiri_Francis it definitely won’t.
@@TheRailLeaguer Agreed some formers just being idiots as usual
