Finally someone who acknowledges the economic realities of cost. Every other review talks about buying one like they have unlimited funds. That's simply not the reality of the vast majority of consumers. I'll stick to driving my 80. Drive perfectly fine even with 29 years.

Understood, but if you are in the market for a car and you know your financial status, how did you find your way to a review for what has always been a very expensive, niche vehicle? Try searching Nissan Versa or Kia Forte.

This review does what most other car reviews don't do; it tells you right from the get-go what market segment it is addressing: the off-road buyer who doesn't make $200K a year but wants to buy a new, quality vehicle. I like how she describes the base model and contrasts it to the higher level trims and concludes for the things that matter, the base model is the same as the higher level trims; it's the creature comforts that are different. The base has the same powertrain, transmission, gearing and clearance - the things that matter to most buyers. I like how she highlights the 'creature comforts' that the base doesn't have but notes who it's not really a dealbreaker for her. Let's face it, wireless charging is nice but everyone has an extra cord to use in their new vehicle if necessary. I also like how she shows its capability off-road, even with stock tires, and how the lack of MTS is not a big deal as long as you have some basic understanding of off-roading.

this is not an offroad vehicle. it's 6000 pounds, if it had a front locker it would snap the cvs or destroy the front diff. both the bronco and jeep weigh 1500 less than this thing. and that's still heavy for an offroader.

I also like to wait a few years go by before buying vehicles, and it has definitely saved me money. However, I seriously doubt waiting just 3 years is going to save you $30k on a Land Cruiser. Toyotas in general hold their values so much better than most other cars.

That thinking is only for luxury euro brands which have bad resale value 😂 Now Japanese brands are a different story. I bought a used Crv in 17 and today it’s still worth a grand less than I paid for back then. Tacos and 4Runners are just as good if not better at holding their value ! Thank you so much! We are in the market right now, and I want my wife to drive one of these. I am heavily considering the GX 550, I think it is a great boat towing rig for what I do. But this
would be an awesome off road rig after she has put the first ten years on it. We keep our vehicles for a very long time, and I have come to terms with the cost. But this Landcruiser is about 20K cheaper than a GX 550.... not nearly the same for towing, but I have other vehicles for that...need my wife's car for the kids now.... Your video is SO REFRESHING, THANK YOU!!!!

I have to agree, I have driven what is probably a dozen BMWs between what 2 adults in my house have at hand over the last 10 years and I am over the overly complicated electronics that keep BREAKING. This truck has wireless CarPlay. Tellurides and Palisades (2025 models) STILL require a wire but have all those cute electronics to go with cheap leather and shiny black plastic. Yet people are lining up in droves to pay $53k for that. Im going back to basic, saw this exact model/color yesterday and picking one up soonest.

I LOVE TOYOTA!!!… BUT I Test drove the 1st edition and it made me love my 4runner even more now. The LC is more narrow inside. Were not missing much from this slightly lifted turbo 4cyl scion box. But then again that would be something most new Toyota buyers wouldn’t understand. This a loud drive and the materials used is noticeably thin. That rear thin window and then the rear mudflap found hanging after my test drive was embarrassing. Toyotas prime days are OVER. I would never take this offroad long term wise. Toyota is riding on the nameplate now for the money. 🙈

The Land Cruiser I grew up watching were tough survival vehicles that could last in desert roads in Africa and Middle-East. It was named the "Land Cruiser" because the original model was designed for a military procurement project back in the 1950s. (Toyota still makes a "mega cruiser" for military and law enforcement in Japan). I don't like what Toyota did with this as it's now an urban SUV for city folks. A Land Cruiser should always be extra-durable and redundant so it can survive the arctic circle or the Sahara desert.

In a word it’s unrefined. Not as smooth when it comes to chassis response. You feel the road more. It’s less controlled. A unibody construction absorbs a lot of that feeling. Some people don’t notice it. Others don’t. I like it just fine. It’s what I grew up with. Will happily mention that in a future video. And thanks. This kind of comment helps me with how I do my job and I appreciate the feedback. It’s better than hearing my hair looks messy or I’m stupid. The Land Cruiser , and new Forerunner , both have the same problem due to the Hybrid engine . The Hybrid battery placement under the rear cargo area ,makes these two nothing more than a soccer mom transport . With a 125Lb weigh limit on the cargo floor , and the warnings regarding water or moisture in the cargo area due to the battery location , how can this truly be considered as a all purpose off road vehicle ?

Great looking vehicle. Like the base except for the cloth seats, we have two dogs so there would be a lot of fur trapped in those cloth seats. I am also not a fan of Toyota throwing 4 cylinder engines in everything, especially at this price point and above. The output of the 4 cylinder is impressive but how stressed is that motor and how long will it last? Also 4 cylinders simply lack refinement. Also not a fan of not having a flat cargo area with seats down. I'd pass on this one despite loving the look. Great review though, thanks.

$45k? Perhaps you can explain how this Land Cruiser should cost $45k when a base 2024 4x4 SR5 4Runner with 270hp, 278 lb/ft torque, and 5-speed auto costs $44k, which lacks full-time 4WD, center locking diff, rear locker, crawl control, automatic climate control, heated steering wheel, etc. It’s 2024, not 2014.
