Something that may help in this situation, is to soak the parts in vinegar, it will clean off the corrosion and the rust, it will even clean the bearings enough to be reusable again, just put bearing grease in them during reassembly, also use dielectric grease other wise known as silicone grease on the plastic gears during reassembly and when hitting on a threaded shaft, always put the nut on the end of the shaft your hitting to prevent thread damage or the shaft from flaring out. To help with disassembly and assembly it helps to put a hole in your work bench to let the wire go through so you dont damage the motor harness when your tapping on things.
