Bruised Pelvis is easily the example of someone who knows when to take the game seriously when it matters but never too seriously. He goes too illegal stages in locals bracket so often just because it'll be round 1 or 2 and doesn't matter. Losing to Bowser on Poke Floats is an experience.
from my own experience, i believe there’s a crucial ego death that all mid/low-tier mains will experience at some point. pelvis is on the grind to enlightenment
It really can't be understated how bad wireframes are. No up-B. Huge hurtboxes. 7 frame jumpsquat. 1.5 runspeed (compared to Falcon's 2.3). Nerfed A moves.

The battles with Loadspiller on ranked have been and will always continue to be legendary. Glad to see the spotlight shown on an incredibly underappreciated character and player
imo every character beats AND loses to fox so hard that its not even a mu, fox is the baseline, he is always 50/50 because it always depends on the skill of the two players
Great great job drilling down on little details, like how Bowser can use trades (a super underutilized part of the metagame) to make his laggy moves actually functional as setup. I also appreciated all the little edits, like the dandelion metaphor for an "idea sprouting" or that segment with the CRT and Windows Movie Maker interstitials. Keep up the awesome stuff wuss

There’s something really ridiculous yet sweet about that, like that’s more faith than many people have for mankind itself, and does that speak better of bowser or worse of mankind? I remember I was around 3 years old and a family friend of ours brought over Melee and gave it to me, and I saw Bowser on the front cover, and I freaked I was so happy, I never forget that day it was special to me

Imo Pichu is even underrated on the tierlist, because he's fast with some good moves, great recovery, small hitbox is a good thing so he can crouch to low profile a lot of tall characters like captain falcon. He has plenty of great moves like nair, bair, uptilt, dtilt, angled ftilt, jab, upthrow chaingrab like pikachu, upair juggle, thunderjolt and an extremely strong fsmash if it reaches. There's also the classic "Pichu has the best ledgedash galint in the game" thing, tied with Fox lol. Imo Pichu's biggest problem is being a clone of Pikachu with no "real" upsides. He has some better stuff like wall jump, more angles on his up-b and way less end lag on it, and his fsmash is stronger (but way smaller). And Pikachu himself has like zero winning matchups vs the top like 10 characters lol. Pika is a good character on his own merit but against the top tiers he loses or goes even with every one of them, and Pichu has it even worse because of how Pikachu's most important moves got nerfed when given to Pichu (no multihit downsmash, no upair tailspike, no hitbox on up-b, damaging himself etc).
It’s honestly so simple and so good. He just learns the character, how they function, then used his own skills at reads and mixups. It’s just fundies, everyone. His fundies are so so good too

I had no clue about the bowser meta developing this was sick to see. Also one suggestion I have is in future videos, putting the music list less close to the end. Because at least for me, the auto-suggested video covered about a third of the list.
My take is that every single bottom tier (except Pichu) is underrated. Bowser beating relevant players is just a reminder that being a bad character doesn't mean having 0 : 10 matchups against the entire cast. Every bottom tier has movement and moves that can kill, which is enough to be able to win. IMO Bowser is one of the more underrated ones, though.
As someone who tends to main low-tier characters in basically every fighting/hero shooter game I've ever played, 29:30 is insanely relatable. One of my favorite things about playing unpopular, objectively bad characters is that it throws a wrench into people's perception of the game. Suddenly they're reminded that they aren't playing a perfectly balanced, 100% skill-based game. They're thrown off by gimmicks that they don't expect, or playstyles that completely fly in the face of convention, or they're crazy tilted because they're getting beaten by "that" character. And the salty cope you can get out of high-tier players when you pop their inflated ego is SCRUMPTIOUS. >:3

Coming from other fighting games, it's so refreshing to see people like Heavenly and amsa who want to put their main on the map instead of crying about the rest of the roster. Guess that's one thing that is better about games that don't get updates anymore.
Honestly if this video acts as a spark for Bowser to come out of the bottom tier into even low tier I’d be so cool with that. Of all low/bottom tier characters I was expecting to rise next I would have thought it would be Game and Watch. Bowser gaining some ground is a legitimate delight.

Bowser didn't just drop from second worst to worst. In fact he has been 3rd or 4th worst on the following tier lists: December 2002 March 2005 July 2006 October 2008 September 2010 December 2010 & July 2013. So about half of them!

I love this video so much. Coming from a nobody who has always loved this character since Melee's release, it's nice when somebody understands it's the player not the game. Anyone will lose. That is the law. And once I am humbled it's where I go from there that matters.

my sibling was an earlier bowser believer, around 2017-8. as a result, i'm great against the average bows, and honestly my copycat bows usually wins on unranked. so much more going on there than most people think. though, when you get trounced, it feels like a crazy uphill battle. great vid.
