Very informative video Vidya, you have covered important points. Just putting it out there that there is a support group called Breastfeeding Support for Indian Mothers(BSIM) on Facebook. It was a life saver and such a confidence builder. There are mothers and mother-moderators who help out with all kind of doubts/problems with respect to breastfeeding. Because of this group I could exclusively breastfeed my son for 6months and still going strong. I did this without any help at home for 4 of those 6 months. Please check it out :)
Hi Vidya ... I’m a new mom and I experienced everything that you told in this video .. I have decent milk supply but still struggling with the latch but I’m sure I will get get it right eventually .. my baby is one month old now .. I felt my baby is hungry even after feeding so started supplementing with formula.. hopefully things will get better soon
I am 6 months pregnant now. And I wish these tips are going to be so helpful. Thanks to you Vidya. U r doing a great job. One request, please make a video on how to keep home clean and so white white with a baby. I like ur home decoration so much. How do u maintain all these. Please let us know.
Tumpa Neogy haha good question, I have removable covers on my sofas that I wash occasionally 😉😉. But I’ll talk about how I manage my chores one day, good luck with your pregnancy 👍😘

Breastfeeding doesn’t come naturally to everyone. This is so so true. I tried breastfeeding my first kid but I failed when everyone said , oh.....it’s natural, why did u fail to do it. It left me with so much guilt. With my second one I tried to get as much knowledge as I can and finished 1 month of successful breastfeeding. I don’t know how long I can do it but i definitely feel it as an achievement. I use nipple shield too. When baby sleeps while feeding they don’t latch properly but nipple shield helps to get good latch even when the baby sleeps during feeding.
Good for you for getting it the second time, and don't feel guilty about not doing it the first time, you did your best, and will always do so for both your kids, it maybe in different ways but doesn't make it any less. People will always find things to say. You won't believe it, but I heard comments for breastfeeding for too long! Congrats on you second little one mama!
Hi Vidya, very informative video. I heard from pediatrician that baby must not be fed on lying down position, it might cause choking also sometimes ear infections to the baby.. is it so??
Wish I saw this 5 months ago. Had worst experience trying to learn breastfeeding. Eventually had to go exclusive pumping. My heart aches time to time thinking we couldn’t get breastfeeding to work. 😢
Don't blame yourself, it is really different for everybody. You made pumping work for you and that is great! You baby still got the benefits of breastmilk.
You did not mention how breastfeeding is very dehydrating for your body, so whilst the baby is feeding have a drink and straw nearby so you can drink up whilst supplying your baby with milk
Very useful video for lactating moms and for those who are going to be. I had a tough time for my first baby and now i am carrying 2nd, searching for videos to get rid of same old issue. A big thanks to your video and try to include tips to increase breast milk which is so effective that we can add to our diet before delivery and also afterwards. Thanks.. 👍 Your presentation is so simple and meaningful.. 👍
Very helpful. My baby is 2 months old and I have a midwife. I wish she told me some of the things. Even at the hospital no one told us how to breastfeed. I ended up giving formula from the getgo. Wtf. No wonder it's been difficult. Appreciate your insight!
@@Feelgoodmama after 2 months it still takes 40min of sucking each breast for my baby to be satisfied. Even after that, most of the time he's hungry and then I need to feed formula (120ml-150ml on average). When I pump I only get 10-20ml per breast so I gave up on it. I get more from hand pumping but not enough to sustain him. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I know the latch is correct cuz the midwife inspected it. I take Fennel tea, Malt beer, oats and lots of water. I feed him every 2-3 hrs. At nights, my husband feeds our baby formula milk once. Any ideas? I don't have thyroid or diabetes issues. Just fyi, I had a c section and it was painful healing and breast milk came in a week. We fed our baby formula from getgo. I had no idea I should've breastfed him continuously for milk to flow 😒
Looks like you're doing everything right. Formula is not the worst thing, so don't stress too much. For someone who started with formula, you're doing really great by breastfeeding as much as you can, so do as much as you can and relax.
Thanks a lot Vidya garu...this is very useful...I saw some of the videos related to breastfeeding..none of those has the information like this...I'm due in 40days...my parents can't come due to the situation of corona ....but your videos gave me more information and insight how I can prepare myself. Thanks again
Hey vidya, I have got a new born who is 11 days old. As my milk supply is still low, doctor suggested to supplement with formula. Since he is been bottle fed he is rejecting the breastfeed even if I try to put him on my breast and latch. What would you suggest to bring him back to breast?
Hi Vidya. Nice information. Can you tell me during night feedings my baby just wakes me once. My baby prefers only one breast at a time and so what happens for example if I feed at 9:30pm and then another at 4:30am and another at 6:30am so the time gap for one breast is almost 9-10hrs. What do you suggest about the long gap during night. Pediatrician suggested no need of waking her up and feeding unless she asks as she is gaining good weight
Hi Vidya, very informative video. Could you please tell me how long you took to get rid of nipple shield and how did you manage to get the latch without nipple shield? I am at day 8 and my baby is not able to latch without the nipple shield

Hi Vidya, your videos are greatly helpful. Especially for me as a first time mom. I wish I had watched this video before delivering my baby. My little boy is now 2.5 months old and I've been using a nipple shield as he could not latch on the bare breast. I'm trying to wean him from the shield now. I would like to know your experience on weaning your baby from the nipple shield. How long did it take your baby to breastfeed directly? And how did your baby respond to it?
At his one month appointment, the doctor told me that he was gaining weight and I can wean him from the shield. So around 4-5 weeks is when I stopped using it. It took a few days but his latch had improved by then.
Hello sister m mom of one girl of 3 yr n pregnant again so ur videos helping me a lot a lot.. please post such informative videos more frequently as m really waiting dear..love 🤗
Thanks for the video.. very informative.. I had similar experience in the initial days of BF.. can relate I have a request. Please provide more info about diet of a breast feeding mother .. and does it affect the baby like gas issues ??? How to reduce it ??
Have one methi ka laddo in the morning and one at night, Balaji tambe sharavari kalpa in one glass of milk that too morning and evening, Garden cress seeds kheer, take all these things daily and do pumping also
Hey hello di.. i have question and its very important please do answer it.. actually my sister's baby is not having cow's milk.. what should we do please let me know what are the other substitutes. We have this tension that how would baby became healthy.
I started cow milk at 12 months, and initially my baby didn't have it too. I kept offering everyday in addition to breastmilk. The taste is very different so it takes time for the baby to get used to it. I tried giving him the taste with a spoon. After a few weeks he got used to it, and now he loves it. Don't add sugar or anything. 11 months is still young, he can still have breastmilk, it is very good for him.
Hi Mam, 1st time mom..my baby is 45 days old, had a c section and was able to breastfeed after 2 or 3 days from the day of delivery.. now mixed feeding.. both breastfeeding and formula.. as sometimes my baby cries after latching and unlatches and cries out of hunger.. i guess low milk supply could be the reason.. my issue is he likes to be feeded only in the left side as my right breast's nipple is small.. can you please let me know what can I do to make him latch on right side as well or to make my nipple bigger.. as everybody are saying as he grows , only one side won't be sufficient for him.. pls help to share any solution.. !!
I hv very large nipples that make my newborn difficult to latch the whole aerola thus leave her frustating n crying for the feed..my milk is flowing but unable to latch my baby what to do ??
Your baby is cluster feeding which is nothing but feeding frequently to improve your milk supply. It's very common and that doesn't mean you are not making enough milk. It just means your baby's stomach is growing so your baby is helping you to produce more milk
@@shimmergirl6461 ohh.. Try keeping upright and burping lots. My daughter had that issue of reflux.. I was very stressed.. Keeping upright helped but still she would have reflux. Do check with your Dr. It settled down on its own in the end just before she turned 3 months. Good luck.

If you are trying everything and it has completely stopped, don't feel bad about giving formula. Atleast you did three months, some women can't start at all. It is different for everyone.

Breast feeding is my endless nightmare .. My first baby is 20 days today and I still can't find a comfortable position for both of us ! , I don't know when I should/n't b feed my baby and how many times ! really depressed & I feel selfish and bad all the time ! I've been learning so many tasks with my baby for the first time and I am sucessful so far at them all , so I feel breast feeding is a burden and a distraction !! I even feel so bad when I talk this way !
Oh dear, you are not alone in feeling down, many women go through baby blues a few weeks after delivery. I have too, see my video on postpartum experience. And breastfeeding will fall into a rhythm slowly, for now, just feed often when the baby is awake and rooting (google it), and burp after. It gets easier in a few weeks, hang in there!
Reham Abdel Reheem You can do it, sister! These feelings are completely normal and very very common for new mothers! It’s a huge life change and there are so many new things to learn and adjust to- it’s overwhelming but that’s normal and okay! The fact you are even searching these videos and reaching out with your concerns means you are a great and loving mama already! It will get easier and you are never alone! Hi vidya maam. I delivered a baby girl last week. I want to know how often we need to feed our baby. The docs at the hospital advised to feed atleast within two hour and even early as required . But here in my home my sister in law and other are forcing me to feed Every half an hour. According to them baby tounge will get dry. Even when she sleep they ask me to wake her up. I dont find this right. I think sleep is also equally important for babies growth. Plz share ur advise. Waiting for ur rply.
I'm not a doctor and don't know your baby's weight so can't give advise. But in my case we were feeding whenever baby woke up, which was between every 1-2 hours. If he didn't wake up after 2-3 hours I would wake him to feed. This was only in the initial 1-2 weeks. After that, he got back to his birth weight and my milk production increased, and feeding was every 2-3 hours.
Hey maam i m adding this just for general information. It took me 2-4 days for proper milk production. My mom was giving me kaala jeera ladu(very small in size) 4-5 daily in the morning with haldi doodh. Ladu was made with grind kaala jeera fried in ghee, gur, ginger. It was very helpful.

My wife is trying hard but baby is not doing breastfeeding. She takes milk from bottle very easily. But not from my mothers breast. I am very much worried about there health. Can anyone help us out
Hey just another viewer here.. don't give up. Have you asked your doctor about pumping? You can do that while still getting your baby to latch so that your milk supply stays up. There's nothing wrong with formula feeding but if you want to breastfeed, there are plenty of options to consider before you decide to give up. You are not alone !
I am pumping whatever I can but it seems like all the healthcare workers + mothers make it seem like you can eventually breastfeed if u keep trying. I am starting to accept reality and be happy that I have a healthy baby.
Hi Vidya..great effort from ur end for new moms(to be)👍..thanks a lot from my heart for sharing helpful suggestions / advices from your experiences..keep up ur good work💐 'm new mom to be🙂
Baby powders are really harmful for their lungs and skin. Try to use aveeno oatmeal or cetaphil body wash and cream. And then see your babys skin get better.

Hey hello di.. i have question and its very important please do answer it.. actually my sister's baby is not having cow's milk.. what should we do please let me know what are the other substitutes. We have this tension that how would baby became healthy.
prerna badgujar i am feeding formula milk lactogen
This formula milk is for 6 month baby.. he is 11 month old..
Prema ji lactogen 1 is for upto 6 month then lactogen 2 & 3 also available.U can ask chemist and pls consult dr before giving cow milk
Thank you so much..
It was awesome info you did awesome job

I hv very large nipples that make my newborn difficult to latch the whole aerola thus leave her frustating n crying for the feed..my milk is flowing but unable to latch my baby what to do ??
How to know that baby stomach is full as my baby keeps on feeding for half an hour or so. He s near to one month old.
Your baby is cluster feeding which is nothing but feeding frequently to improve your milk supply. It's very common and that doesn't mean you are not making enough milk. It just means your baby's stomach is growing so your baby is helping you to produce more milk
@@anutriix thnku for your reply. But is there any time limit for feeding bcz he vomits out milk, so i m little conscious about it
@@shimmergirl6461 ohh.. Try keeping upright and burping lots. My daughter had that issue of reflux.. I was very stressed.. Keeping upright helped but still she would have reflux. Do check with your Dr. It settled down on its own in the end just before she turned 3 months. Good luck.

My baby is 3 months now......I'm feeding fm only..... My BM has totally stopped....im using protein x powder and pills for milk....but no use what can I do now.... Plz help me out
Have one methi ka laddo in the morning and one at night, Balaji tambe sharavari kalpa in one glass of milk that too morning and evening, Garden cress seeds kheer, take all these things daily and do pumping also, u ll feel the difference
If you are trying everything and it has completely stopped, don't feel bad about giving formula. Atleast you did three months, some women can't start at all. It is different for everyone.
@@preranapuranick1839 I'm doing everything.......but no use

Hi, pls let me know the App. I used to forget a lot after feeding.
I used baby tracker, also see my video on apps
My baby is seven months old n bottle feed, someone said I can get milk from my breast if my baby sucks my nipple, is this possible
Seven months after birth I don't know if that happens.
@@Feelgoodmama Thank you so much 🌼🌼 ❤❤
Reham Abdel Reheem You can do it, sister! Blessings and dua for you and baby both 😘

If feels pain in breast feeding what should I do.plz rply
From what I know, if it hurts, it means the latch is not right. Try to open the baby's mouth very wide and then latch. www.womenshealth.gov/breastfeeding/learning-breastfeed/getting-good-latch
@@Feelgoodmama thanks maam. My baby weight during delivery was 3 kg.
Oh my goodness SO helpful!!
I'm so glad!

If it feels like you have blocked ducts, you can use a warm cloth to release it. This has some info, and talk to a doctor too. kellymom.com/bf/concerns/mother/mastitis/
Thanks
You are not uploading any video is everything alright?
Yes those are good tips!! I agree especially getting enough rest to make more milk! 👍🏻
Any video on breast engorgment
very useful video. thanks for the sharing
My wife is trying hard but baby is not doing breastfeeding. She takes milk from bottle very easily. But not from my mothers breast. I am very much worried about there health. Can anyone help us out
Hi.. can u please share what are the best feeding bottles..
My favorite is Comotomo and Philips Avent. Dr Brown is also good I heard, but never tried.
No matter what I try and how often I try my baby won't latch. I feel guilty about not being able to feed.
I can totally relate. I too wish I'd known these things before. Thank you for making this video Vidya. Will share with new mums.
Monika Kottha thank you, we all go through this but no one really shares the struggles
Hi Vidya..great effort from ur end for new moms(to be)👍..thanks a lot from my heart for sharing helpful suggestions / advices from your experiences..keep up ur good work💐

Aww thanks :)
Hllo mam I'm using dermadew cream & soap for my 2 month baby which baby powder is best please suggest me plsss mam
Baby powders are really harmful for their lungs and skin. Try to use aveeno oatmeal or cetaphil body wash and cream. And then see your babys skin get better.
Plzz give advice how to engage a 18 month toddler so that i can cook.. My baby has very short span attention.. She is not interested in toys and books for more than 5 min.
tanima khan it is so hard! try putting her in the floor next to you and give her different utensils and spoons to play with. Keep a drawer or shelf with plastic or steel bowls and spoons that she can take and play on her own. My son still does that!

Thanks a ton. Will definitely try it..

Its been3 months I am not feeding my baby may I start now
Am struggling, 4 weeks of painful attempts to make my baby latch well but i’ve failed 😭
Sarah Qatar I feel you. My little bundle is 5 weeks and my milk supply is lagging, I’m forced to use formula. I’ve been put on tablets, tried oatmeal, barley, overloading on water, pumping, everything and still stressful. Try not to take it on, we are all built differently
Check for tongue tie or lip tie
