It's very smooth at any speed. You hear some tire noise at lower speeds, but it's because of the type of tire. It's really an off-road tire With lots of grip.
I will never be convinced a 4cyl is enough power for a rig this size and weight..turbos or not !!!! Then put a trailer with a sxs on it behind it ..that engine will be cooked in within 2 yrs 🤦♂️....
@@joeyl1939 I have a '24 Colorado ZR2 bought in mid-March with 8,350 miles on it now, driven in all kinds of conditions. There should NEVER be any "shake" to a vehicle, you'd only get that if the tire was out of round, seriously out of balance, or something serious like that. Tread doesn't make anything "shake". You can HEAR the tires humming a little, but they're nowhere near as loud as other offroad tires I've heard. Actually, Chevy did a GREAT job with sound insulation, it really is a quiet truck, on par or better than many cars I've been in with the windows rolled up. I've run into the 98mph limiter a bunch of times when passing on the highway, and it was solid as a rock, the best driving/handling truck I've ever driven by far.
I picked up a fully loaded w/moonroof, wheel locks, paint protection, and tint '24 Colorado ZR2 in the blue on March 16th for the $53k MSRP. Having had great luck with my 2010 V6 AWD RAV4 (212k miles with minimal issues but sadly totaled 5 days ago by a drunk driver) I originally wanted a new Tacoma. But sadly, STILL no front locker (FAIL) and a $12k premium for the TuRD Pro over the ZR2 (plus now the shock bumpstop issues) nixed that. Then I considered the Ranger Raptor, but it was $6k more AND you'd pay a $5k-$10k "markup. So, I got the ZR2 and LOVE it. I'm a noob offroader and wanted the most capability I could get (no front locker was a deal breaker) because I always go out alone and need that extra capability to make sure I get home. I'm more of an overlanding guy (though I don't camp) vs rock-crawly guy, and this is perfect for me. I have 8,340mi on it now including a recent 3,700 mile trip in 11 days in early Aug (17.3 mpg total average including all the wheeling at 10mpg and 85mph highway speeds into massive headwind in WY!) from the Southwest all the way North up to do 2 full days in Glacier National Park, and on down to do 1-1/2 solid days of wheeling in Moab before heading home. In mid-April with 740 miles on the clock I did a full 3-1/2 days of wheeling in Moab, and then a couple of months ago did 1/2 day in the Front Range in CO while going "home" to visit a friend. So far, I've only had a few weird minor software glitches (adaptive cruise control stopped working a couple times, and had one bad valve stem leading to low pressure, so that was replaced free by Discount Tire even though it was an OEM issue (you RAWK!). I usually average about 18-18.5 CALCULATED mpg in mixed driving and have even seen one short tank (in Glacier) at 21.5 calculated mpg! I HIGHLY recommend one if you want a great truck and don't need the extra 95hp (and massive increase in cost) of the 'Raptor (which you CAN'T get a moonroof in). Looks weren't a huge issue for me for purchasing reasons, but, that said, I DO think the ZR2 looks WAY better than either, so, that's just a bonus. With the increased price over even the 'Raptor AND the lack of front locker, AND the shock/lack of real bumpstop problems, the Tacoma wasn't even on my radar. And before you blather on about "reliability", look at the TFL vid where they grenaded the front diff AND all the vids about shock issues.
I appreciate you ending your video's with a few seconds of you facing the camera, it gives a glimpse for the viewers to know who is actually showing us the car, a personal touch. A-lot of other reviewers don’t do this. 👍
I love this truck and I love the color if I had the money I would definitely buy one it’s cheaper than the Bison and I don’t mind a 3 inch lift it makes you feel almost like a badass when you’re driving it cause it looks so tough
@@kx8960 they are removeable. So if you are going up some crazy rock slopes, sure, but the other 99% of the time and you aren't 6'4 you can get steps that attach to the rock sliders that you can remove when you need them off.

Tacoma TRD Pro & Raptor Ranger are more expensive. The ZR2 is the best value for off-road trim/setup midsize. Nissan Pro4X is outdated, but also another value play.
Nah, not for what it is. It's the same price as a Tacoma TRD Offroad, which is FAR less capable than a Zr2. Even the TRD Pro doesn't have some of the same features like a front locker, and a TRD Pro is $65k. Same with a Ranger Raptor at $63k. I've very much looking to buy one of these, like, in the next day. Ive heard they have some issues though. Nice overall review from the parking lot drive.
You should probably wait till the things broken before you beat the crap put of it. Might last a little bit longer for the poor sucker thats going to buy it.
Bout time Chev finally got their Sheet together and made a sharp looking truck.

I was just had a question does it, shake when driving at fast speeds, do you hear any vibration from the tires thank you

Price?
Seems like all ZR2's are around fifty to fifty four thousand depending on options.
About to buy mine at 44k in Selma Texas at Gunn Chevy
Awesome color, & Awesome compact pick up. Very good review.

When you option for leather in the ZR2 you get ventilated seats! Cloth seats are also standard on the bison!

Bad ass truck & great review brother!
Thanks man! Definitely agree 👍🏼
Some dealers giving discount. Got one for 48k. Very happy
Best looking truck on the road.
The best truck in the world
Actually very quiet and smooth plus the gas mileage has been better for me at around 18.5 mpg
Those aren’t steps or even running boards . Those are rock rails to prevent side of truck from being dented
Yup!
You can get steps that attach to the running boards though.
@@kabloosh699 Right...but they screw up the ground clearance, and worse, get hung up over things, so I'll do without.

Nice way to break in a new truck . Never mind GMs break-in schedule.
Great review and a decent truck. But isn't $53k a bit pricey or am I out of step with the market?
Yes $53k is a lot for a midsize pick up, but when comparing to most of its direct competitors this ZR2 is actually cheaper by quite a bit 👍🏼

Raptor is 4 k more and has 150 hp more. This thing is SLOW no other way to put it
As many features as the TRD pro but cheaper and you can actually get one. Very happy with my zr2
The only thing the dealership would’ve been more impressed with is had you done a few burnouts with their brand new truck haha.
Thank you
Does it have electric running boards to get into the truck?
thanks for the video
I assume step rails are an option?
Thought the midsize trucks looked nice till I realized I can’t own 1 due to space in cab
It’s not that cramped! If you’re under 6’3 or so you shouldn’t have any issues 👍🏼
Why do they keep halógena bulb lights?
I love the look but inwosh gm offered a V6 engine option
While I thinks it's a great looking truck I could never pay that kind of money for a midsized truck
Every review is alittle different depending on the truck you have. My 24 ZR2 has more options than the one in the video.
do not grab your wheel to get in your truck
The classic Chevy massive ac water puddle haha

Highly doubt armrests are leather. Lol
Well, fake leather is almost leather. So.......

Ok you mentioned ranger raptor 2xs so far.there is absalutly no comparison with this thing and a ranger raptor.
They're asking way too much. Can get them cheaper elsewhere.😀

15,000 to much in cost.

that’s crazy they don’t give you all auto windows. my mazda 3 i have auto windows all the way around, they even do that for the lowest trim.
