Hey guys (and the 3-4 girls here!)...we’re standing by to hook you up with car parts at the best price store.throtl.com find a better price and we’ll match or beat it. Appreciate any support and would love the chance to earn your business 🤟🏼
I do like the way Mickey works and gives an honest opinion on what he is working with and why he isn't fond of parts, He has the knowledge and admits he is also learning things as he works. Keep up your craft Mickey as an older fan you impress with Mickey style.
Thanks Throtl! Respect from your Northern Neighbours. This channel keeps getting better and better. Nice work on the FD Mickey...also, Nice work Throtl on treating your staff that way, I have a happy crew of guys I work with and it's because of the mutual respect and abuse we give each other. Keep up the great work!
The recovery of this car is really amazing! Almost tears to eyes how much some will and knowledge can do. I'm sure most of body shops would say, this is dead crap, it needs to be repainted. But please, please get some decent wheels for her, like she deserves in all of her glory.
you guys are such good mates always looking out for each other, helping each other but buying you parts cause they want to see your car on the road as much as you
i really enjoy when Mickey takes over because his videos are so in depth and descriptive. Even if you arent a car person you can probably do something after watching one of Mickeys videos
I'm so glad you bought that car! love watching the progress. can't wait to see it start and hear what it sounds like. looking forward to the next videos.
I did the por15 3 step gas tank restoration for an old metal one for my bike. It is pretty expensive but well worth it. You have to do all 3 steps how they are told to be done or won't work as well.
From what that rx7 looked like when you got it to what it looks like now in such little time looks like a completely different car (exterior wise) keep up the good work
Hey Mickey, nice to see these restore videos. I think your restore videos are better than TJ Hunt's because you talk about the details and you film more of it. We like more technical stuff. After this project please do the Supra! Then you will have the GTO, RX-7 Supra Trifecta
Glad to see things moving on this car! You guys are really bringing this thing back to life. Now for your fuel tank situation seeing as for my work I work on small motors there is no "100%" on getting all of the rust out sadly in most cases you end up with some sediment staying behind even after a full flush of the fuel tank, and stuffing it with multiple rags and other sorts of wipes to clean the inside. On the bright side your new fuel pump and fuel filter should pickup the particles so I highly recommend changing that filter out probably looks about the same as the old fuel pump does old rusty and falling apart.
Just caught up and watched all the videos from day 1 of purchasing the RX-7. Very good job getting it all together thus far. Subscribed and hit the Bell for notifications. Keep up the good work brother.
Pour 15 works great we use it on our aluminum race gas tanks for our dirt bikes cause the gas eats the inside of it. Pour 15 worked awesome to help stop that and sealed everything inside the tank
You can put vinager in your take and let it sit over night and it will clean it out. You might have r To put your hand in and scrub a little. It will look like new.
Sweet Mickey content today. Keep it up. U guys should have a Mickey-spec sparco apron promo. Wouldn’t mind having one. Maybe signed aprons would be Coolio.
Just my opinion and practice of what I do when I pull out suspension, hubs, sway bars whatever everything's is open and I spray degreaser and take a scrub brush and clean all the grease, road grime ect... And things like the sway bar clean and wipe it down real well hit it with rattle can primer and then use hi-temp black paint (it seems to hold up the best) and shoot the wheel wells with the paint to it protects everything and just cleans it up wonderfully. Just my tip for the day Micky killing it again can't wait to see the FD finished!!!! Great job throtl!!!!👍🏻 Way to clean your 🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩 as well Micky!!!
Man I have been out here in San Diego for a year now and I have yet to meet people like y’all that treat each other with respect and don’t bring drama in the circle I hope I get a chance to meet y’all in person before I have to leave CA
I hope you guys hit 200,000 soon. But I have a question I would really like to know where I can download this instrumental from for some of my videos hope you can drop a link
As a muscle car guy, I find myself watching these videos and going "wait...how much do I really want a muscle car"....darn you for brainwashing me with your coolness.
Yeah, my wife and I are starting to look around for something like an FD around here (Pacific Northwest). In the Land of Outbacks, finding something really sporty, fun, and customizable that is different isn't quite as easy as one would think.
Love the flash ahead in and out of your beard feature. Plus, I wonder if you think a fuel cell in place of your fuel tank location, to have it sticking through your trunk is a good idea if you don’t want to run your fuel tank that you cleaned up?
Fill fuel tank with muriatic acid, wait 1-3 hours for it to remove rust, grime, etc and then coat the inside. Works wonders on rusted nuts and bolts too.
All you need to do the dry a fuel tank to make it safe to work on is connect the fill tube to the exhaust of a car or truck and start it let it run for an hour or so
Man you have no idea how badlly I'd love to win that Subaru, not only is it my favorite car, but I also need one to go to university, but I have no way of joining or getting entries and also live in Puerto Rico. God bless the person who wins that car, I hope they enjoy it and they're happy with it. Dope video as well, I enjoy watching Mickey fix the fd. He makes it interesting and you can also see he's honest about the products, I like his style. mad fun to watch, God bless ya guys.
I would replace the entire fuel tank. They are cheap enough for the piece of mind, no? I have a 94 Cobra that sat for same 10 years and my fuel tank and pump were like sand the rust was so bad. anyway, good luck, love watching the progress!

It’s cool to see Mickey actually working on his own build instead of everyone else’s

I had the same problem with a 79 scout2. didn't know por15 had a product for the tank. I did use on the entire floor. ready to see install/review!
I'm so glad you bought that car! love watching the progress. can't wait to see it start and hear what it sounds like. looking forward to the next videos.

Wow, bum luck on the tank/fuel system... glad to hear you figured it out though. Looking forward to watching the rest of this build!

Mickey reminds me of James May and how he would always lay out all the tools and parts needed for any sort of work lol.
LOL> That's a compliment! Thanks!

Mickey the only one who could do a beard zoom in and zoom out. Btw nice install 👌
I've been perfecting it for awhile now. LOL
Braaten Brews that was me 2 years ago, i loved muscle cars.. n then I started watching various Jdm builds n was like "shit... im into Jdm now"
DatAsianGuy serious. I am going from wanting a 70 Nova to an FD
Braaten Brews i wanted a mustang but now i want a shit tone of jdm cars😂😂😂
I was a huge muscle guy but here I am.. owner of a Subaru BRZ lmao. Such a difference but I really appreicate the car's cornering and customization
Yeah, my wife and I are starting to look around for something like an FD around here (Pacific Northwest). In the Land of Outbacks, finding something really sporty, fun, and customizable that is different isn't quite as easy as one would think.
Can't wait to hear it run
Me too!
The beard transition was cool
Thanks!
got some flex Zs on my 96 Miata, love them great ride quality and can go low af!:))))
Love the flash ahead in and out of your beard feature. Plus, I wonder if you think a fuel cell in place of your fuel tank location, to have it sticking through your trunk is a good idea if you don’t want to run your fuel tank that you cleaned up?
Thanks! I been workin on that transition. LOL
Ran some tein super street on a 2012 honda accord. Best mod i ever did
I hope you're replacing the old rubber bushings with either new rubber or poly urethane (replace with rubber unless it's a street/track car)
Fill fuel tank with muriatic acid, wait 1-3 hours for it to remove rust, grime, etc and then coat the inside. Works wonders on rusted nuts and bolts too.
All you need to do the dry a fuel tank to make it safe to work on is connect the fill tube to the exhaust of a car or truck and start it let it run for an hour or so
Def looking forward to fuel tank repair kit
Nice.... first MCM builds my dream Z, and you're building a very very very nice FD3S.....
The is coming along good👌👌👌
soon to be on the road !
Legend has it, those clips of Mickey installing the coil overs were actual speed and wasn’t sped up
I can't wait until this fd and that fd fully built and all us subs that have been here forever remember how bad y'all's cars were before they we fixed
Love this serious I’d def invest in a new gas tank tho
Naaaaaaaaah. I got this.
Mickey Andrade you the man brother
Mickey... the quality man your looking for..
another nice video to watch Mickey 👌
1 piece of advice: wear those thin rubber/plastic gloves while you wrench, much better on the hands 🤗
its another war zone coming up: Mickey vs over 10 years dirty fuel tank! great video by the way
XD more presents for Mickey! YES
I’m in the middle of an 08 vw mk5 build. And every day I find myself wanting to trade off on a rotary more and more lol
Thank God. Finally someone goes static!
Nice videos keep up the good work from new zealand
Nice can't wait to see it running! Please notice me from the Tacloban City, Philippines. I'm a typhoon Haiyan Survivor
How does TIEN not give u hardware? & what's your plans for the tails(Why the tape)?
I guess not. And the tails are the new 99 specs. The tape is so that I don't scratch the lenses while I'm leaning over them to work in the truck. ;-)
pbm angle kit is a must
Naaaaaaaaah
Like the content on the channel. More of car content. Petrol_enthusiast approved 👌🍰
I wanted to add less bull shit. No squeekers. Ha
saw the thumbnail and knew what was going to happen ... great choice :)
Pretty sure that down pipe looks like that because it is for a right hand drive car. Otherwise the steering would not work.
I got the same suspension for my 07 tsx 👌👌
Does mickey plan to go on bags later on in the future for the FD? Either way cant wait to see the finished product for this car!
Yes
Man you have no idea how badlly I'd love to win that Subaru, not only is it my favorite car, but I also need one to go to university, but I have no way of joining or getting entries and also live in Puerto Rico. God bless the person who wins that car, I hope they enjoy it and they're happy with it. Dope video as well, I enjoy watching Mickey fix the fd. I noticed you didn't remove the ABS sensor from hub?
Lool omg I just saw Calvin scratching his assss
That's typical. He is very good at it.
Do strut manufacturers not supply the 12 nuts for the top or is this just Tein?
I would bring the tank to a machine shop have them toss it in the vat I have a feeling the scale rust would be a completely removed
Mickey needs a youtube channel!
A wild Calvin and Teej appeared
Also why are the other wheels not on the FD? They look better imo
I would replace the entire fuel tank. They are cheap enough for the piece of mind, no? I have a 94 Cobra that sat for same 10 years and my fuel tank and pump were like sand the rust was so bad. anyway, good luck, love watching the progress!
You guys really need to get that engine out of the engine bay and re-build it & make it cleeeaaaann !!!
@5:57 and you got me hahahahaha
Mickey keep the good work!!!
Thanks Benjamin!
