I was just listening to the two songs that has always carried me through some of my most difficult times of my life. Currently it has been my Cancer journey that has tested me in every way. You never know just what you are capable of until hoing through it is your only choice. Thank you for being there from the early 80's till now. I will always love Styx.
I watched a talk and Chuck was the guest speaker. It was a group of people who were suffering or in remission from cancer. Chuck has walked a hard path. I look at him as a strong and resilient man. It is so special that they consider him a part of the band again, seeing him in pictures of the band. He is one of the founding members since he was 12.
Nice recording, thanks! Couldn't make it to the show this year but it's nice to hear they sound amazing as always. (And Sucherman on drums is just incredible...)
Saw him sing this with Styx in '77 or '78 @ Tucson Civic Center, right after Grand Illusion was released, but before it was a hit. Rossington Collins opened? I think. Tommy had his double-neck 6 and 12 string guitar. Sounded better that way.
He left Dennis DeYoung out of the story. Dennis co-founded the band with the Panozzo brothers, and Dennis would go on to write and sing 7 of Styx's 8 top 10 hits. Dennis and co made FIVE Styx albums before Tommy even joined! They'd already had a hit with 'Lady' (a Dennis track) and then a big success with the 'Equinox' album. Disgraceful for Tommy to rewrite history like this. True Styx fans should check out Dennis DeYoung's two most recent solo albums '26 East, Vol 1 and 2'. They sound far more like Styx than anything the Shaw/JY band have made in years.
Tommy Shaw wasn't even in the story until the 6th album and yet deliberately leaves out the key founding member who WAS there , Dennis DeYoung....What a 'class act'. It is a fucking miracle that Dennis still wants to be in the same room with these guys who continue to profit from the glory days with very little new material in 25 years. But Dennis wants to put up with it to say 'thank you' to the fans he loves so much regardless of the shit that Tommy and JY have thrown his way over the past 40 years.
Relax buddy… it’s rock’n’roll. There are issues and people go their own way. Lawrence Gowan is an equally good keyboard player, although doesn’t have Dennis’ vocal pipes. However to say it’s not Styx is ridiculous. Styx really broke out AFTER Tommy Shaw joined the band. Several of the other members are original. Just listen to the music… this is Styx, and it’s great!
@@profdave2861 It was Dennis’s band and Tommy stole it!!! Why didn’t Tommy and JY leave and form their own band? No, they wanted to steal Styx from Dennis. 🤬

JY was with his wife as she lost her battle with cancer and JY was devastated but he’s back! I
The Stix are not the same without Denis
this had to have been during the time JY was mourning the loss of his wife
Yes

Is that my aunt ?
Tommy is fooling himself if he think this is STYX!!! The is no STYX without Dennis, it’s only the Tommy Shaw band with I want to be a rock star JY.🤬🤬🤬
