I was skeptical at first but that was pretty damn impressive. Covering tool is no easy task and having it sound spot on is even harder. Kick ass drummer too.
I was all prepared to hate this when I saw the singer in a poncho and cowboy hat, especially since I really love this song. I was pleasantly surprised. Nice work gentlemen.

Hey Joe. I usually. don't respond to UA-cam hecklers...But, thanks for the kind words...But my bass playing, is mine. I appreciate the observant criticism, but I didn't leave the flanger on the whole time, and what part did I forget? I think if anything I added more than chancellor does...I can tell you at least this. Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto(who are friends with Carey) enjoyed this performance for them. Because they sat behind us and watched. Hope I cleared up any confusion or negativity for you..but you might be a bass player...
I am a neophyte bassist and am working hard on this song. It's my favorite song on my favorite album by my favorite band. Gotta say, your take with the fingerstyle slap and pop instead of a pick really sounded good. I watch every cover of this song for the bassists and I thoroughly enjoyed this. Great job!
Jordan DuMond fair enough man, and I don't remember what part(s) you forgot neither whether you left the flanger on, just sounded like it. Still very impressive precision with the slap technique, I struggle with it so was very impressive even though I prefure the sound of using a plectrum on this particular song :)
