- Over winter Tropical bonsai when they are inside deteriorate. However, in spring it is easy to get them right back on track. Bring them outside. Water well, fertilize and see your tropical bonsai grow over the season!
Whether Brazilian Raintree bonsai, a Jade Bonsai or other tropical trees, there is work to be done in spring to get them strong again for a season inside!
Nice to see them do so well over just one season!!
What a difference after being outdoors! The fight with the insects is crazy. I have already lost a few trees in the fight with insects indoors. I will definitely be keep less indoors as well.
I do enjoying seeing the progress over a year for these. Mine are all looking pretty decent on the windowsill right now but are desperate for some 'clean light' and 'clean rain water' :)
Great video as always. I like the tomato plant. I’m currently trying to turn ornamental peppers into bonsai. The first plant I bought 2 years ago this coming spring isn’t looking great right now, but hoping it comes alive again with warmer weather and I’ve got 3 more I recently got on sale at a local nursery. Oh and I’ve got several seedlings from the original plant I bought, many peppers equal many seeds.
Just finished planting a gazillion zelkova cuttings (obviously with your baggy method) and thought "time for something non-bonsai". Then saw "Jelle has a new video up, oh what the heck😂". Thanks for the great video! Good point about not giving full sun immediately. We are still months away from bringing indoor trees outside, we still have walkable sea ice for example. But slowly and surely the spring is coming here too!😅
Your videos are instant gratification for bonsai lovers
Thanks Jelle. Always look forward to your content 👌
Jelle, do you live in Deutschland? I was there in 70 and 71 in the Army. We are on the same latitude I live in Indiana so our climate is about the same. I keep my trees inside under lights over the winter. My pines stay outside and, they are doing well. Thanks for all the videos.
Great sense of humour…”deteriorate over winter” 😆
No trouble with tropicals here in Florida. Its the JMs that have trouble with all the heat here
A truly successful year for this trio of bonsais. The repots, pot change and outdoor light has really improved the health of these trees.
Could you share your soap/alcohol recipe that you use for insect treatment?

@@GrowingBonsai Much appreciated Jelle! I forgot about this awesome video - thanks for the link!!
Hello Jelle!
I like the rain tree too. I'm wondering if it branches well after pruning?
1:33 are you sure that it's a maple leaf? :D nice pot! :D
thank you for another great video!
Of course I am sure.
If that raintree needs a new home, let me know =)
Are you sure they are “Maple” leaves on that lovely little pot?
I love your time-lapse videos. Do you have a link for the soap/alcohol? I cannot find it on your site. Thanks in advance.
Hey Jelle, where do you get your seeds? I haven't had a lot of luck with them and I would love to get some japanese black pine seeds and white pine seeds that actually are viable.
Also that Jade got fat!
1:27 I am not sure those are necessarily _maple_ leaves
They are.
