I just love your Mudlarking adventures Great finds
Thanks Mandy! Glad you're enjoying our vids. Hopefully next year the weather will be kinder. This outing was probably the only one that was actually BETTER for having had all that rain! Many of our other sites were inaccessible due to high water. We go where we can, when we can. Thanks for coming along with us!
-Cathy 👋😃
Wow! great finds! Cathy, I love that marble! The buttons are amazing:)
Thank you Kathi, Only one marble, but it's a beauty! 👋😃💖
The Navy Pea Coat button is my favorite and the bumblebee marble! My grandfather was a band master in the navy he wore a blue and white Jacket. I just don’t remember the buttons that were on it. You found some amazing buttons and buckles. The dandy button was interesting, but incredibly! Great day have a fantastic weekend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜
Hi Susan! You KNOW I looove that marble.. What a great surprise that was!
I love the pea coat button too! By WWII, the design was a bit different than this one. I'm still pondering the "dandy", as it is SO large, and missing the shank. I have posted more pix and have begun a discussion on that one, on our community page. 🤔 Glad you enjoyed the video! Have a great weekend!😃😎
My grandmother saved all buttons and I named my first dog buttons as a very young child😊😊
That dandy button was a heck of a find at the last minute, Cathy. I absolutely love it and the marble. Best two finds third place is the pea coat button. 4th is the PD button in my opinion. Lol
Lots of favorite finds in this one! That is the only Akro Agate Co corkscrew I have with 🐝 colors! And it is near mint! Not sure that last "button" is as old as I first thought.. It is VERY large, and " pat appl'd for" suggests a later date. Some large, fancy "buttons" we find are actually the tops of hatpins (minus the pin). So that is another possibility. I'm really not sure on that one. 🤔 -Cathy💖
Super finds! Thanks for sharing!
It’s so funny because I say “Yay” everytime I find a marble. Fabulous buttons. Love the big navy coat button but gasped when you found the New York FD button ❤. Then the dandy button. Fun time you guys had.
Always a "Yay" for marbles 😁💖
Cathy the amount of buttons you found were amazing. Loved the anchor button with the stars around it and the fire department one as well. Of course the bumble bee marble was cool. I have seen Rocks Cousteau find them. Awesome day to be out.👍😀👏
Hi There! The number of eyeballed finds was no doubt due to all the heavy rain uncovering the buttons. After a rain is the best time to check out trashy hillsides for finds! Yes, I've seen Rocks Cousteau find Marble King bumble bees, but never an AKRO corkscrew BB 🐝 ! (Unless I missed that one, but we watch ALL his vids. ) The black is one continuous "corkscrew" around the yellow marble, from top to bottom. It is the only one I have like it (those colors) and it's in great condition! 😃👍 Thanks always for watching and commenting! -Cathy💖
Absolutely love the military eagle buttons! Another great episode!
Hi There! Always love finding an eagle button! I had to re-think the last find though... Not what I originally thought (not as old, and maybe not even a button 🤔). Thanks for watching! -Cathy👋😃😎
The Akro corkscrew is just gorgeous, Cathy! The buttons are awesome, some real pieces of history saved there!!!❤
Thanks Cynthia! Looove that marble! 😃
Next video will be a cleanup effort, (with some interesting finds, of course!). You won't believe how many buckets/ bags of trash we removed, just the two of us, in one afternoon! 😁😎👍🚣🌞💖
Cathy that marble is marvelous! You knew what kind of marble at first glance! An awesome find, so exciting :)
Hi Rita! Yes, there was no mistaking that Akro corkscrew marble! (But I was a bit too quick maybe, on my ID of the last find... Not as old as first thought 🤔) It was a fun day though, and some history was saved. 🙂💖
Great buttons! Buckles too! ❤
Thanks Angela! I put pix up on our community page, of the large dandy button. BTW, we got rained out, pretty much at the CT bottle show 😬🙄
But I will get a video up sometime soon anyway. There were some great bottles there, despite the conditions. 💖
I like the buttons almost as much as finding marbles! You two got some good ones! I haven't found a set of buttons that are the same even though they come from the same spot. Like marbles... Thankyou for sharing. See ya on your next video!❤😊
I wonder if the button finds are so random in dumps because people kept odd buttons around the house, in a jar or sewing basket for years.🤔 You may find matching buttons if an entire shirt was discarded, but a whole set would be fantastic! (Of course we have tons of those plain, white milk glass buttons!)
Akro Agate Bumblebee. Some cool buttons and relics found
Yes! An AKRO bumble bee, not a Marble King! 😃💖 (Not that I mind finding MK 🐝's but this is better!) -Cathy😁
Loved the nod to "Not Thursday"😊
Haha 😄 YES! Two great metal detecting channels: Not Thursday & Stealth Diggers
I never miss an episode! We will be showing some metal detecting on our channel soon! (It's been a while). 😃
Hi Cathy and Drew, did you have a good time last weekend? Great finds! I love finding buttons myself and todays favourite has to be the silver ball button, it's beautiful! It must have come from something expensive. The marble is a beauty, I love the vivid yellow. Fab video, hope all is well with you both 😀💖x
Hi Amanda! We got pretty much rained out at the show last week 🌧️ I gave up and packed up.. Drew persevered. I did shoot video anyway, and bought stuff.🙄
The button day was fun... And yes, that little silver ball button is gorgeous.. didn't take much to clean it up. I am rethinking the last find though.. it may not be what I thought.🤔 We did our annual river clean-up (a month late) and some metal detecting. Weather is changing (cooler) here now. I am almost looking forward to the off season, so I can get caught up around here! (Almost 😄). We're doing o.k. Hanging in here! 🙂😎💖🎃🍁🍂
Oh no, I really hoped you would have a good show! I guessed you would buy stuff lol. I am looking forward to the video and seeing what you bought. 😀💖x@@massriverpickers
Nice finds!
Thanks! 😃😎
Hello Cathy and Drew. Awesome video and button finds! (Love the black&yellow marble to!) Lew and I liked the pre WW1 Navy anchor button , round decorated silver button, and N.Y. fire dept. buttons the best. That dandy button found at the end of this video was really nice to see you find. We have never found any of those here in Haverhill MA. We hope to dig soon or on 10/15/23. We hope to anyway,LOL Lew works a lot now and loves his job at Burlington Coat factory. He loves his bottle digging hobby to though. 🙂I have been doing that hobby since I was eleven years old and Lew was about ten when he started going with me bottle digging.. We wish good luck & health to both of you and we are looking forward to watching more of your videos. Take care and happy hunting to the both of you.---Jeffrey Hull Jr. (Jeff & son Lew)
Hi Jeff & Lew, Hope you got out to dig this weekend. Last week we got rained out pretty much, at the CT show. It was terrible, but we still came home with a few nice bottles and marbles. We are supposed to set up at Richmond RI next Saturday, but right now the forecast says rain again! If that is the case, we will not be going. We did watch your digging vids.. (I need to go back and leave comments). We've had a lot going on here.. We finally did our annual river clean-up (a month late) The water was still higher than we like, but we managed. Got a couple of keepers in the process.
That's always nice. Yes, there will be a video! We got a lot accomplished (trash removal) too! Best to you,
Cathy & Drew👋😃😎👍
Been enjoying your videos for a while and didn’t realize I wasn’t a subscriber, just did and gave you a thumbs up 👍 ty
Hi There! 👋😃😎 Glad you're enjoying our videos! Thanks for the sub and 👍.
More videos in the works! -Cathy😁💖
Wow!!! That "dandy" button is pretty freaking cool!!!! Very old!!! So, how did all those buttons get there? Were there a bunch of clothes thrown out, or just household throw aways?
Hi Anthony! Many clothes (uniforms, etc) were recycled or burned, or rotted away, leaving behind the metal buttons, buckles etc. I have posted more photos (and some questions 🤔) on our community page just now. Hopefully we will get some discussion going! 🙂💖
Hi Anthony, Hope all is well. Haven't heard from you in a while.. are you getting our notifications? -Cathy
@@massriverpickers - No I'm not! Damn UA-cam!! I only get notified for 3 or 4 of my subscriptions. I don't know whats going on. I'll go to your home page and see what I've missed.
why are you not cleaning up the river as you go - it helps the earth and that positive energy comes back to you!
Apparently you do not know our history. We have been cleaning rivers for twenty years. We have a cleanup vid going up next weekend.
You folks are great stewards of the land. ✌🏼💚✌🏼💚🙏🏻 from Vermont
Thank you! A great cleanup vid is going up this weekend! 🙂😎🚣🌞
