Glad to see how much happier you seem lately after starting to film and show what you WANT to show, instead of just pushing out motovlog content. Super excited to see all these builds finished. Happy to see you continue to grow, and I’m sure a bunch of other dickheads are too!

Of all the project videos that have been occurring on this channel lately, there has been maybe one where you can find a similar video on youtube.
Epoxy gaming table. Maybe. But not even close to as cool as his. And none are as well produced/explained as Dan's video.
Dually frame swap? Or anything that went on in the dually build series to be honest. Good luck finding a video(s) as detailed.
    Epoxy Center Console? no results.
    73' Camaro custom interior? nope.
All of this original and well formatted content has been an absolute blast to watch Dan. In fact, seeing you tackle these projects almost makes me feel like I could get it done with the right tools.
I cant wait to see what else goes on here in the near future. Keep killin it Dan!
Edit after finishing the video: Door panels looked sick, but probably need to be redone to accommodate for the window switches and new door handle, so thats understandable. Otherwise, absolutely HYPE for the engine swap. GL!

If I might add aswell.. I had a tattoo removed and one place did it weird af. The next place I went to had it down pact. You need to have your skin fractured first. Just like a tattoo removal laser machine, but it just puts holes in your skin (less painful than it sound) that worked twice as quick as just laser.

Hey Dan, love the fact that you continue to get outside your comfort zone and try new things. While I don't have much experience with car customization, I do have lots of experience in carpentry and woodworking and I have one small peice of advice. When using your skilsaw, never cut between 2 saw horses like that. The board will always bend towards the centre and pinch the blade. This can send the saw flying back into you. Always have the cut off hanging outside the sawhorses. Love the content as always and keep up the great work!
    Jay.

I personally like the longer videos versus the shorter videos. Something about the longer videos, with regard to a build series, shows that you're taking time in what you're doing. Plus they allow for a lot more detail. Camaro is beautiful (both of them). Keep up the great vids!

  • @TURTLEscooterking
    @TURTLEscooterking 5 років тому

Dan I really appreciate your attention to detail and for your first job tackling those door panels it was a good one. As in you putting in a engine and actually tearing into it. Please take my advice and have an experienced mechanic there with you. Engines are very easy to have one little thing out of place and then its catastrophic engine failure for the whole thing, it would be a wipe. Also its known you never ever do an engine by yourself just for the simple fact of safety. Motors kill. Jackstands are only as good as you place them. Cars especially old ones are very heavy and personally I dont want you going anywhere. Great content Dan.

Just like you, I want to build everything in my shop, which I'm also in the process of building. Just a little 16x16. I thought about starting a a YT channel just for the car and call it "Dirt Floor Garage". That's all I have at the moment. The car is sitting in my yard while I work on it. seeing this was on a door, why didnt you use pink insulation foam board instead of the mdf?the foam molds easier than the mdf its lighter and you can fiberglass over it making it just as durable and more waterproof.not to mention saving those door hinges from warpage. door hinges from the 70's are well known for warping because the doors were already so heavy from being as long as they were. that being said the door you made looks awesome ! keep it up !

I'm super glad I watched this. I had no idea making custom door panels was a thing. I have the tools to do it including a sewing machine. I was about to spend $500 on door panels on my 1985 f150. I'm gonna waite till the final product is out tho. Any tips and suggestions would be extremely helpful. I'm stoked for things going your way🤙

Those handles are SICKKK! And the pannels, I can see where you were going, I can't wait to see those when you're done! You did far better on them than I ever could, that's for sure.
As far as the mechanical work, let me know if you need anything. Advice, help, etc. I'm not far away! Keep at it, brother!

If you are wanting to learn about tuning at all for the engine (that is if you go efi) the vcm editor that hptuners uses is a free software and comes with example tunes that you can hunt through to help familiarize yourself with a base tune and all the different things you can adjust with it.

Love to see you doing what you actually want to do and I also like the fact that even though you don’t know how to do everything you come right out and say that but you give it your best and try anyway. Gives me inspiration to do my own custom shit to my own cars and bikes. Keep up the good work

Not gonna lie.. feeling pretty inspired by how you just jumped into it, (researched obviously) but you made these look really good and you should be proud, I’ve never met you and I’m proud of you..
I left the channel when you gave up on the Harley.. but I realized that was ridiculous and re-sub’d. Glad I did man, keep up the good work Dan.

I got a little worried when you pulled out the MDF, but you killed it! It looks great and I'm excited for what's to come! The only thing I don't like about the car is that pointy front bumper, but I know you said that's the important part for you. Keep it up man!

You’d be amazed at how well simple & fairly cheap mods like as solid body bushings, subframe connectors, a rag joint eliminator kit, etc. do to this car. I also highly recommend checking out Pro Touring F Body when you get around to the suspension.

good on you man for learning to be somewhat self-sufficient. Sewing is not a skill I've yet picked up. Would come in handy when changing patches from vest to vest though...
Tip with the file, especially on aluminum, to get ride of tooth marks. Draw filing. File flat on the surface, perpendicular to the direction of stroke, slide back and forth, saves sandpaper.

Love the video :D I have a 76 El Camino Classic I'm working on and this should be a huge help!
One door is still complete but the other has the panel in 2 seperate pieces (factory design, one [upper] half is fabric and one is plastic) I could buy replacements or just do this
