    Wanted to add that I no longer support max yield bins because of the recent nonsense going on in the community with them and MICROPPOSE. If you weren’t aware already, Max Yield has decided to try and trademark MICROPPOSE before the true owner (Daniel) had the chance. This is super shady business and personally I regret taking my business to Max Yield in the first place. I have since became an affiliate with MICROPPOSE and soon you will see his new bins and products on my channel! This video was recorded prior to me being aware of the shady business that Max Yield was involved in. With that being said it appears that the application to trade mark MICROPPOSE from max yield bin INC has since been abandoned and it looks like for the most part everything has been resolved in that aspect. MICROPPOSE bins are great quality and I would argue that they are better than Max Yield Bins in every aspect from quality, to features to price. tmsearch.uspto.gov/search/search-results --this is the link if you would like to look into the trademark scandal going on (search MICROPPOSE). If you would like to purchase products from MICROPPOSE use my discount code GOOMBAGROWS for 10% off your entire order. Mush love everyone ❤️🍄

      I have both. I've used Max Yield Ben and I just started using Micropose. I haven't fruiteded yet, but my question is technical maxyield bin has a bunch of holes at the bottom unlike micro pose. What do you think? Do you think those small holes at the bottom are necessary? Have you had any success without them?

    Total noob here so may seem like a dumb question, did you just ignore the contamination? Like did you Chuck the fruit growing out of, or around it? I’m very interested to know, thanks!

    • @GoombaGrows
      @GoombaGrows  3 місяці тому +2

      Yessir, I decided to let the grow continue to see where it went. The fruits that come from this bin are still 100% edible. Most definitely though need to be careful when it comes to trich as it can be very irritable for family members and pets if they have sensitive lungs and immune systems. The spores can linger in the air and get into your growing area and living spaces. You also can notice cons such as much lower yield than normal when your bins are contaminated.

      I have one more question. I want to start growing shrooms in a monotub soon, and rn all I have is a small pre-prepared kit (very basic stuff pre-colonized etc). Can I use the colonized substrate of the kit to innoculate some fresh substrate for my monotub, even though it has been fruiting several times already? Thanks!!

  • @brian3739
    @brian3739 3 місяці тому +4

    Do you mist when u see primordia?

    • @GoombaGrows
      @GoombaGrows  3 місяці тому +4

      Good question! For the first flush I will try to avoid misting so I don’t over hydrate. Sometimes though if I don’t see enough water beads on the surface I will give it a light spray of water with my aerosol mister to assist with more mushroom growth.

    • @jonathanlallo4920
      @jonathanlallo4920 14 днів тому

      Misting after hyph with ape is a bad idea, they are prone too abort so letting them run is always best. Honestly misting is very nessecary, its the evap. That promots primordial knots. But everyone needs to find what works best, for them and the strain.

    in the video you dump 1 colonize bag and 1 substrate bag into the bin correct?

    • @GoombaGrows

      Yes! One 3lb bag of colonized grain and one 5lb bag of sterilized substrate.

    What’s a true casing layer compared to what you did here? Il subscribe after you’ve answered 😅

    • @GoombaGrows
      @GoombaGrows  2 місяці тому

      A true casing is applied after your substrate is 100% colonized and is peat-based. If timed correctly, the mushrooms should push up through the casing layer from the substrate beneath. Ideally casing layer should not fully colonize. When using a pseudo casing layer you are simply topping the cake with the same substrate you used to spawn to bulk. This in turn creates a better microclimate and keeps moisture retained. But it is most certainly not a true casing layer. Usually you want your casing layer to be fully non nutritious so instead of consuming the casing layer the mycelium will just colonize the casing layer. This is just from what I have learned so far and is my best understanding of the differences.

    • @GoombaGrows

      Ive been hearing about the nonsense going on between the two companies. I find it super shady that max yield thought it was a good idea to try and trademark MICROPPOSE before they even had the chance too. I actually just about a month or so back got a care package from MICROPPOSE, that included some of their products and I am a huge fan. The bins are great and come at a great price too. They also have innovative features that are simple to implement like hole plugs instead of having to tape them off every grow like you do with max yields. Wonder why max yield is so worried about microppose… it seems pretty clear to me. I will make some videos showcasing MICROPPOSE products in the very near future. Use code GOOMBAGROWS for 10% your entire order :)

      Do NOTTT toss mycelium outside! It will LITERALLY take over your ENTIRE eco system. The LARGEST living creature on the planet is a giant mycelium network in Oregon. As matter of fact...people being so uneducated on mycelium being it's OWN kingdom and will take over..is why it will never be legal like cannabis. Because you will literally toss it on the ground if it goes bad. The mycelium doesn't die when contaminated...it THRIVES outside. And nature will kill the contaminated cells and it will continue to thrive under ground.DO NOT DO THIS!!!
