Wow! This very well may be your best one yet! The song keeps the tempo of the present tune, but still incorporates motifs from both of the Future timelines. Around 0:18 the song transitions into the main melody of the good future track (“The past is beautiful isn’t it? So much brilliant architecture in the background, all different types of plants around, this is truly wondrous!”), continuing on until 0:50, when it takes on the bad future theme (“Good as it may seem, Robotnik will still take over. Destroy the generator or all will be lost.”) Almost seems like an “echo” of the bad future reminding Sonic what’s at stake. In the background, it’s similar to that vocal bit at the end of the present track. Great piece!
Also in regard to people comparing this to Bouncy’s rendition, his seems more like just a remix of the present using a similar compression to that of the past tracks. Yours seems more like its own unique piece, and would work better in a game overall. Both of you are indeed talented musicians in your own rights though!
It's interestant because Good Future and Past versions of the stage have circular loops, and Bad Future and Present have loops in a different format. (Sorry my english is not that good, I'm Brazilian)
This fits the atmospheric and psychedelic nature of the US Soundtrack so well! This has to be my favorite Past US song that you've made so far, I love it so much!
When I first clicked on this theme, I was half-expecting an original tune, since Stardust Speedway is unique in that its US soundtrack is a collection of melodies rather than just different variations of the same theme. But THIS!!! I love how you seamlessly fused all three Stardust Speedway US tunes into one while simultaneously creating a new track! I could never have asked for a better "P" Mix for Stardust Speedway US.
That's the case for all the stages in Sonic CD but 1 or 2. That's why I feel like this should be an original tune: because Collision Chaos was the only one that wasn't thst.
This music kind of has a romantic and calming feel, like your thinking, "Hey, this is a very beautiful place, let me take awhile and appreciate this with you." Which also kind of makes sense because in this stage, you find and race Metal Sonic to save Amy, who is in love with Sonic.
This is probably my favorite past track of yours. I love the way you incorporate the present, good future, and bad future into this one so much, and I only just noticed the bad future part as I was writing this comment. Just goes to show that each timeline melody doesn't sound shoehorned in and instead all feel very natural.
I love how the calm atmosphere perfectly blends with the melody of the Good Future, hinting at the good things to come. This makes you realize that there’s still a chance to fix the evil doing of Dr. Robotnik.
One of my favorites in this series that you’ve done! I’m thinking of getting the Steam release and modding these songs in for a US soundtrack playthrough, it would be a cool new way to experience the game. (Ideally, it’d be best if someone could make a mod that uses these for the US soundtrack but keeps the originals for the Japanese soundtrack- in other words one that can be kept on permanently so I don’t have to turn the mod off every time I want to play with the Japanese soundtrack! I have no idea how realistic such a mod would be, though.)
Sounds really good. I honestly like Stardust Speedway Bad and Good US Futures better than the Japan versions, so this sounds really good. This honestly sounds like an 1980’s night track of some sort.
Woah, the key change in this past theme works wonders! I personally would've gone for a more Roman or Greek feel for the stage, but this peaceful jungle-esque sound works as well. I like how you took most elements from the present SS US theme, which is my favorite of the bunch.
I am going to write an entire manifesto to Sega demanding that they implement these into the US soundtrack on Origins. It's complementary, not insulting, to Nilsen's work, since his work was restricted by the hardcoded nature of the Past tracks, which I'm pretty sure are not PCM on the actual ports anymore.
Wow, you gave it a vibe that fits the Japanese version, that "funky night" vibe, but using the US motif. This is the definition of a good take! Makes me like the US version for once.
I really like the pads and bass in this one. The bridge at 0:50 is both soothing and powerful. I just wish these remixes sounded more accurate to the originals (8-channel MODs/XMs are your friend).
I listen to this and remind myself of how far I’ve come since I was born and how much I can still do... I don’t know if this is nostalgia anymore, it feels like something more...
You had big shoes to fill making a Past version of the best song in the US soundtrack, but you pulled it off…REALLY well 😂. Even with the way you made it hopeful. That’s not easy to do and this is good. Adding to the list!
It's a bit more present t and good future tho but I did notice that part from 0:50 to 1:00 it does sounds familiar to BF giving the fact that Eggman is sure destroying the zone
This is so good! It's so serene, and I love the call forwards to the future versions. I'd easily play a hack that had this in the game. The other past songs you did are quite good, too; I hope you'll do all of 'em! I'd be really excited to hear how you handle Quartz Quadrant especially, as that's probably my favorite zone. ^v^
Sonic runs through the grassy landscape of the past of Stardust Speedway, there are not many badniks here, sonic jumps up to the grassy solid platforms above him he searches for that machine which is making the future look bad, it’s always night out and sonic doesn’t rest for even a bit, he tries to jump to platforms and speeding around the area trying to find a way to find metal sonic, a church is in the area, sonic looks at the church after he destroyed the machine and realises that Robotnik destroyed the cathedral in the present and has nearly finished a statue of him that is complete in the future. Sonic knows to never give up even in the darkest times of little planet, he has courage to take the lead in the race over in the future and to defeat Robotnik once and for all….
Past: The Speedway is still barely full of Badniks, and the stars have a Stardust appearance, but the hedgehog must focus on beating Metal Sonic and going to the Metallic Madness Zone.

5th best past concept. Every time the xylophone hits the major 7th, it puts itself at odds with the good future melody. Other than that, this fits the peaceful city at night.
Here we see stardust speedway in the past, egg man has not built his statue yet, it is entirely free now, you can run around all you like- but it won’t stay like this forever if you fail to stop robotnik, it is so close- the generator is in the past, you can do it- save stardust speedway!
