@@Mortimer_RS The US sound track was also trying to tell a story, and it succeeded to us 90s kids. I would never have loved this game, nor become the Sonic fan I am today, if my first experience had been the JP/EU soundtrack. I wouldn't have been humming the cheesy 80s cop chase music for Stardust Speedway at Scout camp back then the way I was belting out the US Bad Future. The US soundtrack was heavily inspired by SatAM and the explosion of electronic and rock music that was prevalent at the time. My biggest gripe is that the time crunch limited their effectiveness, leading to several tracks being split into segments to play on different time states instead of being properly remastered to be unique.
I understand that the US version of this soundtrack is the iconic ELECTRIC GUITAR, bro the US electric guitar is a tremendous bomb to make rock music for a video game like Spiderman for the Sega CD (I recommend listening to its soundtrack is a gem)

I think that Collison Chaos Present and GF in the JP are better. The US Versions don't sound unique enough and the US Present really is kinda dark to begin with. However I do still enjoy the US versions. Where the US in Collison Chaos shines though much more than JP is the Bad Future. The JP is cool but it sounds hollow and empty. On the other hand, the US is perfectly dark and melancholy.

I try to switch between the two versions. Begin with US for Sonic Boom, JP and then back to sonic boom ending credits. With that said listening now the US version really has it’s own unique sound different from all the other classic games thanks to that heavy bass and electric guitar.

Finally, some appreciation for the US soundtrack! Been listening to it a lot recently, love the atmospheric tunes. I don't really have a favorite song from the US ost, because I think they're all really great! Also useless fun fact time, the Windows 95 version of the game is technically the only version of the game (besides the US Sega CD version of course) to exclusively use the US ost.
What I love about this game is that both soundtracks are great to listen to in their own right and can tell the tale in different nut equally compelling ways.
The reason why the US OST is so slept on is because the US copy of Sonic CD is literally only in America and nowhere else. Most people grew up with the Japanese/European soundtrack, that's why they're not used to the US OST and just don't like it as much compared to the JP OST. I say this from experience because I was like this before, now both Sonic CD tracks are just awesome.
you say that but the US OST does have a bit more exposure then you say it is not as much as JP especially nowadays but it has gone beyond US ears. if you played the Gems collection that was on GC and PS2 then they have cd use the US track which I own and I am not even american

QQ good future bangs
YES.
Great soundtrack, without a doubt
The US ost really does have some good bangers in it. No matter the version of CD you play there will be a group of bangers
3:34 nah goofy earned it😂😂😂😂
Stardust Speedway G mix = 🔥
What I love about this game is that both soundtracks are great to listen to in their own right and can tell the tale in different nut equally compelling ways.
Ok but the Game Over segment actually made me shiver, so many unpleasant memories, truly perfect
2:15 John is on point, Garfield would be proud
The reason why the US OST is so slept on is because the US copy of Sonic CD is literally only in America and nowhere else.
Most people grew up with the Japanese/European soundtrack, that's why they're not used to the US OST and just don't like it as much compared to the JP OST.
I say this from experience because I was like this before, now both Sonic CD tracks are just awesome.
Also the PC/mobile ports have JP soundtrack set as default, so it also just gets more popularity
it's also in other countries in north amercia
@@lebollsong You serious?
you say that but the US OST does have a bit more exposure then you say it is not as much as JP especially nowadays but it has gone beyond US ears. if you played the Gems collection that was on GC and PS2 then they have cd use the US track which I own and I am not even american
The US Soundtrack is only in the USA and Canada Version and also the NTSC Brazil Version.
Underrated OST.
Tbh I don't hate the American version of these soundtracks, I actually like some of them (title, invincible, speed up, etc) although I still personally prefer the Japanese version. But hey, good job on including creepypasta games including sonic exe in the game over clip.

I just had the craziest Mandela effect, I had to come here to double check, when I used to play this game on my iPad as a kid I remember CLEARLY US palmtree panic had a unique past theme and it was a rendition of green hill I LITERALLY REMEMBER HOW THE SONG WENT WHAT IS HAPPENING
this was the first game I ever played. right on my Packard Bell Intel MMX with 3dfx processor on windows 95.
