The shrimp collection continues with this little nano tank for my Rili Neocaridina shrimp. I saw these bubbles on amazon and thought they looked cool and I'm so glad I got them because I love the final look of the the tank. Hope you like it too and is something you are interested in giving a go :)

I just made a version of this for my neocaridina shrimp, and I love it almost as much as they do! I've used shades of blue/turquoise gravel in the bottom of the tank, and each bubble. Then glued Java moss to white quartz and black rocks to put into each bubble. I haven't decided whether to glue moss to my faux coconut shell hideaway (no back door, only front, and top). Also have corkscrew bendy stick with Java moss on it (bought at local fish store). Added cuttle bone fragment for calcium (as recommended by local fish expert), an algae wafer in the corner, and it's a real party! They swim around, hop into the bubbles, hide in the coconut, eat from the moss and the wafer... THANK YOU for this wonderful idea!!! Can't wait for the babies!

The shrimp look amazing in the setting with the contrasting colors of black, green and orange the use of shape and the natural elements. I can see others really getting inspired by this. You've brought keeping shrimp in tanks as much more of an option as I always enjoy seeing them cleaning and interacting. You must be doing something right with the amount of shrimp babies you are getting in so many different colors.

I was looking at those clear planting bulbs for my mum's tank. She has a gravel setup and wants plants however she 100% gravel-vacs the substrate to clean it so I needed something that would allow the plants to be easily moved. Ended up going with just terracotta planting pots, but I like how the bulbs turned out in your tank. I might try something similar with them for my own tank in the future here. I'm so jealous of your self-sustaining shrimp population.

these small shrimp tanks look cool. Was not aware of some of the needs for these animals. Have seen the leaves and sticks in fish stores before and understood they change the PH, so these shrimp need that. Was also not aware they need mineral rocks for molting. That all makes a lot of sense. I really like the feeding tube stick too that blends in with the glass. And to glue the moss and leaves onto rocks is also a very good idea.
    Perfect little project.

What a cool idea with the stick-on bubbles!! I'm going to do the moss on a rock trick next, it will prevent the need to roll it, and bottom die off.
A form of superglue is used in hospitals. I've used it myself with great results. It's good to seal off open wounds before playing in fish tanks!

Hi MD, great stuff as always! What I wanted to share is that I've made such ''floating islands'' but instead used some rocks & lava rock to which I've glued some suction cups & covered with moss & plants, FYI if you'd like to achieve a bit more naturalistic look. You can also hang lava rock from your lamp or cover on a fishing line to have an even more floating effect. Anyway, I'm glad to see such a nice creation!

*_Enough about me. I also have so many questions/thoughts for his_*_ _*_HUGE_*_ _*_studio tank..._*
    1. It has abt 4 in of sand all the way around IK that was expensive af! 😭
    2. I can't even imagine how long it would take to remove substrate if you were going to move or if you just wanted to do a new aquascape in it.
    3. How hard is it to clean & how long does it take to clean it?
    4. How are all your sand tanks ALWAYS spotless!

The alder cones are great I have a few trees nearby where I harvest mine from, they tend to release most of their tannins in one go but its still good to keep spent ones left to rot over time especially in heavily planted tanks with a no Co2 setup, as the plants will consume all the dissolved Co2 which will raise your pH to undesirable levels for alot of fish species.
The rotting alder cones along with wood, leafs and other debris will help keep the pH lower, I really struggle to keep my planted tank below 8 and its not even a heavy planted tank, has a ton of floating salvania though.

    Brilliant.
I actually had the same idea when I came across those suction cups while looking for a stick-on Betta bed. Nice to see you thinking the same thing and giving it a go. The tank looks great. Kind of reminds me of Azuma Makoto's work. Would be great to see it done on a large scale. A four foot tank with bubble pots everywhere in an otherwise epiphyte only aquarium would be spectacular, especially if the main hardscape was somehow suspended off the bottom of the tank.
    The possibilities are endless.
    Good effort

Como ya es costumbre en MD Fish Tanks nos ofrece otra bella entrega, franca mente este es uno de los mejores canales de acuariofilia a nivel mundial, solo lamento no ser bilingüe. Saludos desde Honduras en la América Central.

I’m addicted to shrimp. I only have 2 now and think one is gravid. I’m moving the fish to a new tank and want to have one tank just for shrimp. I’m excited to get it started!

MD! What an Amazing, Fun, Engaging Video. You totally pulled me out of my funk today. What a Fabulous 'Play Ground' for your Shrimp & Snails! The close-ups made me fall in love w/my Shrimp all over again, and the end where the Snail is 'surfing the wave' made me laugh! Mine do that ALL the time. Thank you!!!

Love watching your videos and it has inspired me to do my first planted aquarium and get some cherry shrimp, the moss balls will sink you just need to gently squeeze them in the water to get the excess air out.

md, have you ever thought of getting black spray foam and making a simple background for a tank? maybe just with plant holders and sticks in the foam, could also incorporate lava rock into the foam because it really blends with the black foam once it gets a bit of algae on it. piece of advice though, spray foam doesn’t stick well to glass. get plastic eggcrate, silicone it to the back, and then spray foam onto that and it’ll stick well. just think it would look super cool in a larger tank, maybe with a ton of small plant holders on the background with monte carlo draping down from the holders and anubias glued right to the foam

Such a pretty, interesting, and different tank! Love it. I learn so much from your videos and get so inspired. My cats also love your channel. Mostly when the fish swim back and forth, lol, but also occasionally things like dropping in those mini cone things. 😆😻

Superglueing cuts back together is what tradesmen on building sites do for first aid, I worked as a window fitter so suffered many glass slices to the hands and the super glue will fix a cut that requires stitching aslong as your care full not to break the seal for a few days.
