Many thanks for posting this video, Martin! Like some of the others mentioned below, I too found that it's not really necessary to remove the set screw. After the first couple of plugs, the rest seemed to go faster & faster. And I even discovered you don't really even need to fold the wire back against itself to hold it in place. I discovered that by accident, when I was moving right along, not really thinking about the steps, and after tightening the set screw, I realized I'd forgotten to bend the wire back against itself, so I pulled and discovered - voila - the wire was snug and in place just fine. But for the sake of consistency, I pulled it out, folded it and tightened it up again. Probably the thing I discovered that was the most helpful to me was I had to stop trying to hold the plug AND sleeve together, allowing no shifting. That's what was causing my wire not to hold when tightening the set screw. Once I pushed the wire in, and allowed the plug to push forward as far as it could within the boundaries of the sleeve, that made all the difference in the world.
I googled CE banana plugs, and your vid was one of the first things that came up. Thank you, I might have figured it out eventually, but this saved me quite a bit of hassle. I thought I had to loop the wire through the larger hole, or something. Great tutorial!
Thank you. I like your idea better. One other user folded the wire back onto the insulation and made the set screw puncture the insulation to stay in place. Both yours and that other users idea looks very good.
I found that it's not necessary to strip the wire at all. Just back out the screw until the tip is flush with the cylinder wall but not removed seat the speaker wire in the cylinder all the way then tighten the screw all the way. The screw will pierce the shielding on the speaker wire and you're good to go! This is what worked for me!
This was incredibly helpful! But after struggling with the screw a couple times I realized I could take out the setscrew only most of the way to clear the barrel of the plug and then blindly put in the loop and then apply the screw. So much easier and it worked most of the time on the first try and at most 2 to 3 times…
Jesus Christ Lord of Latter-day Saints! Thank you so goddamn much. I usually invest in the much more expensive banana plugs, but this was for a tiny cheaper set up in my non Theatre room. I had thought these cheap ones were mismanufactured. Thank you for your video!
Thank you man! I was trying everything. This worked first time and you are right it's in there right it's not going anywhere, I guess I should have read reviews I am used to having the push fold over screw together type but these are sure not that. Again than you so much was so easy
You can magnetize it yourself. Just drag a magnet along the tip. Or wrap a coil of wire around the tip and momentarily attach to a battery. It will stay magnetic for a while.
Thx for the help. Couldnt figure out what the bigger hole was for! Still seems like a not-tight connection after finished .Put f-ing instructions on the package!
I don't understand the female sockets. The bannana plug terminal sockets. I've not had the opportunity to inspect them in person. What I am confused about is in the pic on eBay of the terminal......it shows the bannana plug connecting to a hole in the middle of the center shaft from the side. But I was assuming they plug in from the front. Are there sometimes two ways to connect a bannana plug to the female terminal? These sockets I got look as though they might plug in from the front....but a pic shows the front of the terminals screwing out to reveal a hole on the side. I don't know if they work both ways. I just want to install the terminals and plug bannana plugs into it the normal way. Not from the side. I also plan to use them for a bench variable power supply positive and negative terminals.
The hole on the side allows you to connect another banana plug. So..... if you only have one port on your device, but you'd like to connect 2 cables (with banana plugs).
I just want to show you my appreciation for your help, there aren't many videos on UA-cam showing how to use this kind of plugs. Thank you so much!
Glad I could help!

Thank you sir you are a gentleman and a scholar

Glad my video was able to help. 😎
Thank You! I was in your exactly same situation, was very funny to hear you! Thanks for your help
Thank you for this , I was pulling my hair out trying to attach my speaker wire to these plugs . Your advise was spot on , Thanks .
Glad it helped!
Thank you. You've saved me a tonne of time. Your intro described my morning. cheers.
Thank you. I've been struggling with these all day.
Adding a well deserved thank you! I didn’t think such a short space would hold the wire nor did I know what the larger hole was for. Bless you!
Glad I could help!
Thanks for this video it saved me so much time and heartache!!!!!!
Glad it helped. Cheers!
Thanks Man! You just saved me a lot of heartburn and high blood pressure spikes!

This was a big help to me as I was about to toss these banana plus for something easier to work with. Thanks man!

Thanks man! I think your method is the right one. I tried it and it works.

I came to the same conclusion. Don't remove the screw! Just back it out a bit and shove the hooked wire in and torque it down good.

Paul Scharlau LOL! You're quite welcome. Glad this video is turning out to be useful.
Thanks. This was a great video. Assembled them the way you did and they work fine. No soldering needed.
You saved my sanity today. Thank you very very much.
Thanks! I was just about to take these back to the store, but your vid was very helpful.
Glad it helped!😎
Nice, I don't think I would have thought of hooking the wire like that.
you would think CE Tech would provide directions??? Thank you!
Thank you so much, this was a great tutorial!

I was just getting ready to throw these out when I thought I would try UA-cam. Thank you thank you thank you. I was pulling what hair I had left out.
Perfect. Exactly what I needed. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful. 😊
Dayyyyaam
Works great,,,,thank you
Thank you!
Where do I get the magnetic screw driver with different bits. 👍
I have a non magnetic one now.
Any hardware store has screwdrivers with magnetic tips. Just ask.
You can magnetize it yourself. Just drag a magnet along the tip. Or wrap a coil of wire around the tip and momentarily attach to a battery. It will stay magnetic for a while.
I love that hey if it's yours go crazy! Oh yeah here that's to home depot review.
Your tip helped me
Works great! Thanks!!!
Thanks for the video 👍
Thanks, bruh!

use 16 or 18 ga. wire works good that way.
Thank you.
Thanks! I was about to turn them.
Thank you Sir, I will pull them out of the trash now :)
Wow!
Can’t figure it out either !
Thank you SO MUCH!!!
GOD FORBID that HomeDepot would actually provide any INSTRUCTIONS!!!!!!
I guess though, that they'd probably DOUBLE the price of the plugs...right?

Really the hole in terminal is used to insert the speaker wire directly and screw it down.
@@AndrewLupton Nope.
Amazing it doesn't play with out buffering this video I wonder why just this video
?
Thank you! Geez this sucked
Wallah! ???
