Usually these fall in the 14-18 awg range for handling anywhere from 5-20amps or so (smaller awg numbers equate to higher current max, places like caltestelectronics give current ratings for each wire and insulation choice)
My used RC 36 bell record o phone uses these for the phono payer output.. I need a banna jack to RCA adapter, it is Mono.. so two jacks.. 1951 bell record -o-fone..

what kind of cable do you use? 26 AWG?

the smaller the number in AWG unit, the thicker the cable and the more current it can conduct.
