Many of you have probably heard of Midnight Racing Tokyo on Roblox, and how it's a great FREE online street racing touge drifting game. But can it beat your typical racing games like Need For Speed, Carx Drift Racing and Forza Horizon 5? Well, in this video, we're going to put it down a gear, step out of the simulator and see just how good it actually is.

if u wanna use a Manual trans in this game I wouldn't recommend you to use the Q and E hotkeys for the shifters change those hotkeys to other keys like the arrow buttons

You can press "V" to use hood cam and get a more sim experience.
Using a controller lets you precisely adjust your throttle and brakes.

For people with small or single monitor setups, sure, because as you said it gives a larger view without needing to change the FOV
But anyone who has a big screen or multiple should use the cockpit cam

If you ever wanna play this game again, some things to keep in mind: M changes into sequential and manual, you can adjust keybinds in the settings, and by pressing v there are different camera angles
The dedication they put in recreating the maps & customisation for cars makes it one of the best racing games on roblox.
It’s 100% better than those “racing” games in the front page of roblox,it’s all straight lines and “high speed corners” in those games lol

imo mrt have the very nice and very bad physics at the same time
-friendly for beginner
-very well implemented physics (compare to other games in roblox)
-relatable for grip and drift
-some cars are too understeer or too oversteer (even civic is less understeer than 180sx and s14 lol)
-instant input
-weight transfer is too less effective

Nah I'd say the weight transfer is pretty spot on. Try coasting then suddenly turning in, or even better just drive the 964. Unless you transfer weight smoothly and effectively the car just sounds and loses time or spins out altogether.
@@AKAGIRDSNS for some reason weight transfer exist here but the suspension wasnt spot on so the wieght transfer isnt precise honestly its basically a very stiff suspension for me

Press "T" to turn off TCS (red means it's off) for drifting
Also, u can change the key bind for all controls

This game is an amazing underrated game! It’s physics are good and visuals are amazing! Also ‘T’ is to turn Traction Control off and on and ‘M’ is to change the transmission (Auto, Semi and Manual). ‘V’ is to change camera too.
Also there is a cool community for this game, with different types of cars and people. It could have 10,000 concurrent players and I’d say it isn’t enough for this game!

out of every game, roblox was the last one i expected a hardcore sim racer to play. but it was a great vid, id love to see more of this

Midnight racing is better experiened with the hood camera, the game was updated recently and suspension, fitment, camber, and transmission tuning options were made available in tuning shops.
The game is great and I'd definitely recommend it. The physics aren't exactly realistic at a 7/10 at best but it doesn't detract from just how fun it is!
You can even perform a braking drift in the AE86 and fully weeb out initial D style.
Its been 7 minutes and i have yet to see him switch transmission modes

It took me a whole 2 days to learn the basics of the game and this guy just did it in like 10 minutes.

You can actually press M to change to manual transmission. I remember seeing your car in a server, glad you enjoyed the game!
They have the Z31 in there which made me very happy
I came here looking for a free game like Midnight Racing Tokyo but offline but nope, you actually did a video on this wonderful game lol.
Note:
M = switch between auto/semi/manual
shift = clutch
V = switch camera position
H = horn
J = turn off the engine
K = free personal radio
L = lights
G = leaderboard
T = switch traction control on and off (red means off)
Z/X/C = indicators
shift + C = free cam
you can set up custom key binds but you have to leave the game to save them
I used to clan race alot in that game 1-2 years ago and the physics are all simulated well mostly if you checked how the cars are actually made (just search roblox slots) then you will see everything is practically simulated to the abs (which every car has which is weird) theres also traction control tyre wear which they dont show and the ATTESA system for the skylines if i remember correctly. These are currently slots 1.4 which is more primitive than 1.5 but they are also 200-300% less laggy since of how many parts are calculated but if 1.5 ever saw the light then this would be as realistic as assetto corsa. Ive seen some devs actually make 1.5 cars realistic cars soo you could actually brake drift or clutch kick. There's also a slot community which is basically where you make cars yourselves in the roblox studio and make it yourselves tho i don't actually recommend going into that community since there's lots of "problematic" people over there and they scream at you or ban you over something like an obj (ripped from a game) when mostly the maps are actually objs lol

some of the cars dont have abs. I think ingame the detomaso pantera doesnt have abs.

Midnight racing tokyo is really impresive game for a roblox in terms of map and car models
The 22b subaru in Midnight Racing is actually pretty quick on the mountian touge. I usually use it since its awd and pretty nice. GTR is nice as well
It's just a standard GC8 sti. The 22b is a coupe (2 door) which has different bumpers and has wider fenders.
u can actually hook Roblox up to a steering wheel since one of my friends play it like that and thankfully that this game has been getting the attention it needs. :D

I basically tried every single touge video of yours in mt otsuki or ichikawa in this game and played it even before your first touge video (i think the gutter run was first).
I get this video is a year old, but there is so much you missed that makes this game much more fun, you can use manual transmission, and its even possible to hook up your sim racing setup to the game.
RWD cars are great for drifting, although you need a bit of IRL drifting logic like turn-in point, countersteering, when to countersteer, braking, weight transfer, etc.
I didn’t notice u were a youtuber I was the 350z!

Finally, some more publicity for MR:T
Some tips from a MR:T veteran who has been playing this thing since free release on 2018 for all of you who are interested on the game.
- Don't waste all your money on bodykits.
- Start with RWD's, you will learn most with them, AWD's help your corner and grip and FWD's help you do that faster.
- The FD RX-7 is a great RWD starter car.
- The Evo VI is a great AWD starter car.
- The Acura Integra (Tier 2) is probably the best FWD in the game.
If your down for more roblox then I can recommend Touge Legends which is a full blown initial d game and $olitary which was only a drift game up until recently when they added an expressway type map and the ability to turn on TCS (by pressing t) so your car doesn’t constantly drive like a drift build. Roblox is fun whenever I get bored of AC and other proper sim games.
Fun fact: you can listening to the radio for free just hold H and move your mouse to select the radio and also you can swap your transmission to manual by pressing M
If you're looking for FiveM servers, give No Name Drift, Hot Version and Hashiriya a try. No Name Drift has great drift physics and I used to play it regularly. Hot Version is my new favourite server and has the most realistic touge handling out of the servers I've tried. Hashiriya is the only one I haven't played, but it looks good. It's more of a highway racer server like wangan midnight. I think a FiveM series would be pretty cool.
yep, I've been playing it recently because of how great it is even with the couple bugs it's got. All around really fun especially when playing with friends.
Off-topic, but I for one think Kaido Racer 2 aka Tokyo Xtreme Racer Drift 2 is one of the best Initial-D-like games. Lots of style, lots of references, good car selection, and decent physics imo.
Try it on an emulator sometime.
r to turn on mouse steering, left click becomes throttle and right click becomes brake, your car follows where your cursor is pointed, can be used to fine tune and hold steering angle, it also puts your handbrake to left shift, which is closer to your shifting keys (w clutch, e/q shit up/down), overall better experience than using wasd for driving

Btw you can press M to cycle your transmission settings from A/T, S/T and M/T ;3
if you press V you can change camera's and if you press M you can change you Transmission to Sequential and manual
the game has many sorts of tuning now, ecu weight reduction suspension and wayy more body kits, you should try it out again
Dude! Just from looking at the thumbnail and title I knew it was gonna be this roblox game!. I also couldn't believe how this is a roblox game but amazed by what these roblox devs can do

FIvem has a cool Touge server called Dragon Drive 2.0
The thing about Midnight Racing is in Otsuki it has allitle bit of complicated method that was used for Otsuki, Ichikawa, and lastly the forgotten map Shirakawa and also this method was called P-spamming or tapping it was used for meta or aka op cars like the Evo, Impreza, Skyline, and all tier 3 cars except for tier 1 or 2 and also you just need to not crash to a guardrail so you can get the pb of 2:56 - 3:10 so that's all I gotta say also I'm a Huge Mr:t player so I know alot of things in that game lol

You have no idea how much time I spent learning to slip angle with the 86 in MR on Mt Otsuki
You should do one more video on it an use mouse steering and Manuel transmission and turn off TCS and ABS, because in my opinion it is way better with mous steering and with manual transmission.
Haven't played this game in almost a year, I last played when the Tokyo City map was added. It was way different back then, good to see some good progress in this game!

If you want rouge racing, try out initial D: touge legends. It is quite realistic and fun to race, there is manual transmission and you can turn of abs 💨💨💨
If you want a real JDM Vibe try FiveM Hashiriya server, touge, drift tracks, Shuto and much more
You can probably make a series with all the recommendations in the comments lol, might actually be a good idea to check out what your community is driving and tell them what impressions you got and how it compares to AC/other games.
Also if you do make this into a series, my recommendation is Initial Unity, you can get the link on the games' discord, just watch the "Initial Unity out now" video on yt and check the description.
midnight racing tokyo is such an awesome game, the ichikawa region is probably my favorite map.

As you mentioned FiveM, I'm pretty sure theres a few touge servers where you can choose between grip/drift

By the way performance upgrades are coming, since the game is still in Demo stage
if you press H it opens the radio menu (only works when ur inside ur car)
You can customise you need to go to the bodykit shop it should have a place where it can teleport you there or look on the map they're soon going to add tuning
They're mod shops for performance in the game but u cant use them yet so I'm guessing that means performance upgrades are probably coming out sometime soon
Even if the 850CSi isn't that great, I found it still fairly quick and fun to drive in highway maps
There are touge servers in FiveM that are also surprisingly good
You should try the Hot Version server, cars handle realistically there
you could have switch to semi-auto(manual with auto-clutch) or full manual mode by pressing M, also evo6 was an ak47 machine in the past now its not.
Because evos dont come with antilag system in stock

Tokyo Xtreme Racer Drift 2. The best PS2 touge racer, up there with Battle Gear 3 and Initial D Special Stage.
mrt is truly underrated and it’s so fun. Provides a less serious touge experience.
Hashiriya on fiveM is essentially the same thing but with slightly better graphics, more customization and a much bigger map for highway racing, I recommend it if ya have GTA V
