I tried this at a Haitian family in Montreal, years and years ago, and it was delicious 😋 . My craving for it never changed. I'm so happy I came across this recipe @ 11pm , like now. I had coconut milk 😃 and I added kale instead of spinach and all the other ingredients . So herer I am making this delicious recipe.
P.S I...I used the Ethiopian berbere spice because I didn't have tomatoe paste, and their berbere spice has a lot of spices in it., so I didn't need to add extra spices except for garlic salt.
All have to say delicious best Mayi Moulin I have ever made thank you my Forster kids love it and they are American 😁😁😁
Happy Saturday!!!!! Be sure to get the video to 100 likes

I always mess up my Mayi because I’m always unsure how much water to add. Well I did add 2 cups of coconut milk. Super delicious and creamy. Tasted amazing with the zaboka. Mèsi
I just started the video but I'm on board. LOL I love smoked herring. You know I noticed that some of the dishes that you prepare are similar to Jamaican dishes. They're not exactly the same but similar.
kie mc yeah I've seen some Jamaican dishes they are very similar to Haitian food
Watching this as I make it right now. Job well done 👏🏽 I'm about to sauté the smoked herring & already the entire apartment smells of it. I'll be adding frozen okra but girl I didn't buy any spinach or basket vine (Liann panye)😩 but I hope it comes out delicious 🤞🏾😋

Delicious! Glad you're not using maggie cubes :)
That looks delicious😋can't wait to try it. On another note, please have your nails checked by a Dermatologist. I'm in the medical field, and a vertical black streak in the nail bed can be an undiagnosed health issue. Stay safe and thanks for the amazing recipes❤

@@tonyareese4045 NO
I’m craving this rn
What do you eat Mais Moulin with? I don't know Haitian food lol. Is this a side dish or a main dish? Veggies on the side? Meat on top? Beans? Rice? Would love to try this recipe.
You can pair it with sous pwa with is bean sauce add avocado. It's a main dish in our culture you can also eat it with meat on top if you like preferably beef OR the smoked herring instead of adding it into the mais moulin you can add it on top.
When you First added the herring to the pot, it already had red onions etc. What did you Add to it??
I said it in the video the smoke herring I used is for a chiquetail video that's why it already has the red onion in it.

looks very good your house is going to smell very bad.
I love the smell of smoked herring. It brings back memories from my childhood.
Smoked Herring does NOT have the same smell as salt fish.
Love aroson...and I am American. Making this today for my Haitian hubby and family!
