    I followed this to a T .. whatever item I used to measure my cornmeal is what I used to add the water 1/4 .. came out perfect

    My husband is Romanian and they also serve a cornmeal polenta with a whole fish with a bunch of garlic. They almost always have mackerel, which type of fish do usually use?

      I usually serve it with red snapper, yellow tail snapper, lane snapper or salt fish. My fellow Haitian’s eats it with other stew meats.

      Your welcome! The ratio is to every one cup of cornmeal add 4 cups of water.

    Ms.Annette thank you for this basic recipe it turned out great. Can you please do a video of basic (bulgar wheat/ble) I want to substitute rice from my dish sometimes and that starch can be rough on my body.

    How long do you leave it simmering ? Or should I just eyeball it until I see the water getting low.

      Let it simmer until it’s cooked.. You will have to taste it and see if it’s ready.

      There’s a big difference between toasted and burnt !! I have been cooking for over 30 years, I past the stage of burning garlic.
