I have eaten at Emeril's twice and have NEVER been disappointed. The food is amazing and the service is IMPECCABLE. It is somewhat expensive, but very well worth it. I never have a problem paying a lot of money for great food and even better service. Every time I go to NOLA I will eat there.
He NAILED it. I live Uptown and he hit all our favorite spots. That was a no fluff representation of New Orleans without the hype or tourist traps. Great job!

Kleiner Menzel perfect and you can avoid Marti Gras.... End of April first of May is Jazz Fest!! Bit warm and expensive... spent a decade there after Katrina.... no regrets!

I just spent a week in New Orleans - my new favorite city. The best Po boy I had ( sorry, didn't make it to Domillise's ) was at Parkway Tavern. Johnnies was very good too. Best dinners; K-Paul's, Bayona, Brennan's, and Carrollton Market.
No offense to Emeril, but Parkway Bakery is THE BEST poboys in New Orleans! (It's more of a bar or a house than a bakery)
Parkway is the best shrimp po boy for sure. Other places may do other po boys better.
I ate at NOLA when I visited. I had the best meal I ever ate. And the price was not extreme. Emeril is a virtuoso.
Emeril you amazing man! You completely changed the food industry and how the public looks at food and how we cook. An amazing accomplishment. Thank you so much for BBQ Shrimp! Oh my god great.

I prefer acme oyster house for poboys, deanies for seafood platters, dookey chases for gumbo, willie maes for fried chicken, neyows, little dizzys, cafe dolphin,Laura’s, go to tramain!❤

I've been to 3 of the 4 hot spots they landed and truly believe in those being the old and the new NOLA. Concluding with cocktails at the ACE hotel on the terrace, bringing back great memories.. and very, thumping headaches the next morning!

When he was talking about the humidity... when I lived in New Orleans, the humidity was the BIGGEST draw back to baking. I could bake a loaf of bread on Monday and by Thursday, the baking conditions would be totally different.

Pho Tau Bay was closed for two years because their original building on The Westbank in Gretna was bought out by Wal Mart... not "just cause" lol

Antoine is the oldest restaurant in America and the food is good and reasonably priced. But it is a senior citizen spot so it doesn’t get promoted often. You do have to go though the building is huge and they’ll give you a tour. And if you’re into wine it is the best place in New Orleans they have multiple somms on staff and have a dungeon of a wine cellar worth millions

I ate at Domilese's and it is hard to find then hard to find parking. Then the shrimp tasted old not fresh.
Morning Call isn't there anymore. Cafe du Monde outbid Morning Call and won the bid to run the building there. Morning Call is actually only 3 years younger than Cafe du Monde. Cafe du Monde has become the touristy place while Morning Call is more for locals.
Walking Through New Orleans I am visiting New Orleans in April and was watching a bunch of vlogs and videos to write down authentic places to eat. Morning call was at the top of the list and I was sad when i did my research and found out that they closed for good smh 😢

Hahaha. Silly tourist. Cafe Du Monde isn’t what it used to be. I’ve lived in or around NOLA most of my life, I should know.
He went to Morning Call in City Park for beignets at the beginning of the video. Morning Call has been around for 150 years. Cafe Du Monde has been around for 158 years. So they have both been competitors for that long, and both are great.
To each their own. I went in a few months ago at 530 AM and was served burnt old coffee and cold stale beignets. For a placeof that so called prestige, that’s horrible. I’ll leave that nonsense for the drunken fools.

@@midnyteblues I went to Morning Call in City Park the week between Christmas and New Years. Good beignets and cafe au lait. I went to Cafe Du Monde like a month before that and it was good too. Either you just happened to catch them at a bad time, or I just happened to catch them at a good time. Who knows.
I agree that Cafe du Monde is great, but Mothers is just 'ok'. They are a tourist trap. They are beyond rude.

Haven't tried kirbys, only place I eat seafood is Casamento's. It's always fresh, and it's absolutely the best! Soft shell crab sandwich is AMAZING! Try it out!

At the beginning of the video he mentioned that he worked at Commanders Palace. It's the flagship of the Brennan family's many New Orleams restaurants-the Brennans own more restaurants than Emeril. It's a must...just save your pennies!
Professional jealousy=== the top place for both food and ambience is Galatoire.s. My dad's favorite was Commander's. We lived in the Lower Pontalba, so TUJAQUE'S was just around the corner with the best shrimp jambalaya. Bon Ton had the world's best bread pudding ==and whisky sauce. Bon apetit!
No trip to New Orleans would be the real experience without staying at the Hotel Monteleone.

The Morning Call in City Park is now run by the Cafe du Monde. The quality is the same, parking is easier but, yeah, nothing beats the atmosphere of the original.

Such a shame they tore the horse/rider statue down. I never knew who it was, or who it represented, ..didn't care, I just thought it was very picturesque when I went there to visit. Hope their happy and it's "changed their lives". (yea right, I doubt it).

Why didn't you take her for authentic New Orleans soul food like Mother's, Dunbar's or the famous Dooky Chase by Mrs. Leah Chase. There was also the famous Gene's po-boys! This is why ppl in New Orleans don't really like Emeril. He trained at Commander's Palace stole recipes and try to say they were his! Casamento's Restaurant has been in business since 1919. It's a New Orleans LANDMARK! 100 years still run by the same family.. 4 generations now.

At the beginning showing him meeting the presenter, he has his shirt tails out, for a good reason. What used to be an energetic young chef on beginning of the Food Network in the mid-90s, has eaten too much, and has much more than a middle-age spread. He's fat.
