  • A landmark of the French Quarter since 1840, Antoine's is a family-run restaurant as renowned for its hospitality as for its French Creole cuisine. Jamie Wax pulls up a chair.

I worked at Antoine's for years and it will always feel like family to me. I love this place with all of my heart. I ran into Miss Yvonne on the street day before yesterday and it made me so happy.

I could not imagine a trip to NOLA without dining here, it's a must do EVERY time. Perfection. I am in the restaurant industry for many decades and consider Antoine's the Grande Dam of all restaurants.

I went in August 2018 and they had a $22 lunch, my water was sterling armour and he was absaloutly fantastic!!! The bourbon bread pudding was so goo it made me cry!!! The shrimp creole was to die for!!!! The tour by Mr Sterling was 1st class!!! Even though I felt underdressed I was still treated with respect from a 1st class establishment

We live close to New Orleans and I wanted to eat here. I didn't know you needed to reserve a month in advance. I know Commander's Palace we did. Thanks for the info.

My wife and I visited here during our trip to NOLA recently. I’ll just say I never thought I’d use the expression “you’d think you’d died and gone to heaven” to express the quality of food, but Antoine’s is the exception.

We booked a balcony room for my best friend's bachelorette party, her fiance at the time (now husband) had an in since they sold them some wines. they treated us like royalty (as I'm sure they do all their guests) our waiter had been a patron since childhood, as well as his family who had been eating their for years and worked their as well. He must've been about 50-60 years old when we went several years ago. A few of the waiters/event managers even gave us a tour and a private wine tasting in the cellar afterwards too! And of course we got the famous baked alaska!
Definitely highly recommend coming here to anyone and everyone!

The atmosphere of a top restaurant is part of my
memories. When we moved to New Orleans, my dad took us there and when we asked him what was in the oysters Rockefeller., he looked puzzled. “Spinach?””
My other favorites were Tujaque’s my first Martini and Shrimp remoulade, Galatoire’s jambalaya , but my dad was Navy and loved Commander’s - the pianist would play “Anchors Aweigh” when we walked in.
Arnaud’s is another top restaurant-bananas Foster!
I never had a poor meal in any restaurant but I am so bored as videos show people go trooping to the Cafe du Monde for a beignet. Phyllis Jordan started P.J’s Coffee with the most delicious coffee and pastries. It’s a chain now.

Your bitterness comes right to the surface doesn't it? It must be tough carrying all that hate with you. You're trying to impose today's norms on past times and norms. Society is not static. It moves and changes.

bthor76 and further more they were welcoming here. One of the few places at that time where it truly didnt matter. I was born and raised just across the river on the westbank of New Orleans and we know all the storys. Blacks and whites got along through food and mardi gras and music and always will.
