All my favorite NOLA videos are from both your channels! They’ve been on repeat since preparing for our first trip to NOLA this past May and going back again in October so they’ve been playing non stop. While I love the Vegas content too, y’all need to make another trip cause I can’t get enough of these videos! Thank you for all the great content!
We were in New Orleans right before Christmas. Thanks for going to all the restaurants we missed. We were only there for a few days after our cruise, so it was hard to fit everything we wanted to do into two days. We did hit Mother's which was amazing. Great food tour!
I love New Orleans; I’m going down this weekend with a trip to Biloxi. My go to restaurant is Antoine’s. The potatoes soufflé there are like eating fresh McDonalds fries in the best possible way. They are known for inventing Oyster Rockerfeller so that’s probably the place to try those. The Baked Alaska is amazing too, and it has a similar vibe as Galatories. Keep up the good work.
I loved watching this video! You went to 3 of my favorite restaurants, I’m a Louisiana girl, through and through!! Commanders and Galatoire my top 2!! First trip to Galatoire was at 7 yrs old. So 50 years ago!! Trout Meanure almondine and soufflé potatoes the best! Everything there is true old New Orleans. Commandeers is my top hard 2nd! Always get pecan fish and turtle soup!! Y’all did amazing! Grab some Pepcid and head on back!! I live in north Louisiana but NOLA is unbeatable! So glad you liked limas! Thank you so much and trip down memory lane!! Blessings always!! 🎉🩷🩷🤩🥂
Wow thank you so much for the amazing compliments! So glad we did it right by someone who grew up there. So many classics it was hard for us to narrow it down to this list even! Love NOLA
Yay! I'm so glad you got to try the muffaletta and that you didn't hate it Josh. I'm sure that the pre-packaged ones aren't quite as good as the fresh ones at Central, but you got the gist of it anyway! And now, I'm hungry!
Muffulettas at CG are the bomb. I dream of them.. haven’t been to NOLA in more than 20 years..Need a trip! Thx for a video that will hopefully get my husband to want to plan a trip. 😊
My absolute favorite city ever!!! Working for Caesars Entertainment, we visited New Orleans a couple times a year doing promotions at Harrah's. Love that you tried some of the places I love. The red fish to this day is one of my favorites. One thing I yet to try is the alligator cheese cake at Jaque Imo's. I've had alligator bites at Pat O'brien's and they were delicious. Thank you for these amazing memories. Haven't been there in a while.
Thanks Johnny - We had some Alligator on our trip back in February at Cochon and it was really good. That Alligator Chease Cake sounds quite interesting!
Hi There, I checked out your tour. I am going next week for the first time. I wrote down the places you visited. I hope I will be as hungry as you were!!!!! Thanks for the video.
The food of New Orleans is great the sea food is great, can never go wrong in New Orleans with fresh food with great ingredients flavor and tastes, the ingredients flavor in the sandwich tastes delicious.
Great video! You have rekindled my desire to go back to New Orleans. Never enough time (or money) to visit everywhere i want to go. Thanks for sharing your trip. 😀
Hi Josh & Rachael, its Harley from Vegas. Just saw this video. Happy Belated Anniversary. Looks like you enjoyed another visit to New Orleans. LOVED the video. My son and I will be there in March for his birthday. His 2nd time and I've been coming since I was in my early 20's (almost every year) :). I always enjoy your videos. Don't forget, on one of your future NO adventures, to go to Irene's or The Pelican Club. Let me know what you think. Going to try Sofia's and Lola's.
Gala-Twars if that helps. Love watching you guys. I'm born and raised in the city and still live in the area. Despite growing up here, I've never even tried many of these places so I'm getting to see much of what I've heard about. I ride in one of the Mardi gras parade and will definitely be trying some of this when we're down there for parade weekend.
Ahhhh!! Nawlins food 😋😋😋!! I love little spots like Damilise’s …it looks so good and my kind of dining style! Heck all the food choices every place looked so good! You guys tried so many great food choices and wow those fancy cocktails 🥃 yum👍!! We love New Orleans! Thanks for sharing!
Great video as always. My wife and I love your eating adventures. Commander's Palace is one of my top 5 restaurants in the country. If we ever make it back to N.O. we definitely want to try Willie Mae's!
Finally! I’ve been waiting for a good video on the classic NO restaurants and you nailed it. The first piece of advice for a first time visitor is don’t eat anywhere that’s less than 25 years old. 😅 Where do we eat nearly every trip? Commander’s for sure. Mandina’s for seafood and Italian, though we also like Fausto’s in Metairie for lunch. Acme and Drago’s for oysters. My favorite French Quarter restaurant is Tujaques. Thanks for a great tour.
Thanks you should go for sure. We actually just visit Vegas a lot for the good eats. Plus we get some pretty great casino comp offers to help us keep returning
Very solid tour. Full disclosure, I’m kind of a New Orleans travel snob. I’ve been their over 20 times and have been all over town. Initially I found your choices a bit obvious and cliched but as I remind myself that this video is for first timers, I realize that you picked all very good spots for a quintessential New Orleans experience and a memorable trip for anyone going there for the first time who follows your plan. On your next trip however, may I suggest the following: - Herbasaint - Toups Meatery - Cochon restaurant - Johnny’s Poboys - pesche - Jacque imo
You nailed it - we were going for only classics that have been around for ages. We actually did Cochon in a different video along with Restaurant August, along with some others. There are so many great spots in New Orleans, even after two trips last year we still need to go back for more! Thanks so much for watching and sharing!
Tina and I love New Orleans. I went once during the pandemic on my way out west, but before that Tina have gone 3 or 4 times. We have not been to Domilise's, but we did have really good Muffuletta's at the Napoleon House in the French Quarter. Tina had a PoBoy at the Acme House just off Bourbon Street. I LOVE catfish! Great shots of Bourbon Street! Awesome! There's the Acme House. We Loved the Acme house! You gotta go to Pat O'briens and order their Hurricane! OMG! Amazing. I had shrimp and grits and Tina had a PoBoy there as well - she loves sandwiches! Wow, those handshaken Pina Colada's you ordered looked awesome!! Hi from New Orleans, I love your Vegas vlogs. I disagree with Commanders Palace. The turtle soup is good but that's it. Meaning good authentic Creole flavor. Galitorie is just ok.
