- Auf der Maur performing Followed The Waves on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Sorry for the poor quality but this is the only format I was able to find this in.
I have a feeling this was louder than a typical Tonight Show audience could handle.
Nothing sounds like THREE SGs on one stage.

Saw her twice back then in Paris (Elysée Montmartre, and opening A perfect Circle at Le Zénith). I also met her at a radio station, waiting outside, she was super nice and radiate something mystic.

I had visited Montreal in June/July of 2004 for a business trip, and bought a couple of souvenir shirts there.
Later that year, I saw her at the State Theater (now misnamed The Fillmore) in Detroit. I wore one to the show, and I also swiped one of her posters off the wall of the lobby. She had finished her opening set and was meeting fans out in the lobby. She was so nice to talk to. She signed my shirt “I (heart) Montreal”, and also my stolen poster.
She looks 8 feet tall on stage with her boots and bass, but I was surprised she was barely 5 feet tall in person. Very sweet person.

Theyre really good. I remember this album being sort of promoted, but... kinda feel like she didnt get enough recognition as a solo artist.

I do recall this song in 2004 and I liked it, even thought the video was cool. I think you're right because after this song I can't recall ever really hearing about her. Kind of sad, I think, she's pretty cool!
As a vocalist she was superb backing Courtney Love. Excellent bassist. I liked this group and she really is a looker!

Hi, there isn't a video but there is a full audio recording of the show! I don't have it uploaded and I don't have access to it right now though. It's an amazing sounding show, if a little bassy! (but that's part of the charm).

Kim Pryor is the woman on guitar, the guy in the baseball cap is Steve Durand who knew Melissa for a long time and was in the band Tinker with her where she debuted Real A Lie if I remember rightly and I forget the name of the final guitar player sadly but I think his name is Andrew? I'm likely wrong though. It's been a while.

This song is extremely well written. Pure power and atmosphere. As a vocalist herself, honestly? - not that convincing to me. I don't like writing that, because I like her so much. I get the impression that she is not eccentric enough to achieve long-term success as the front woman of her own band. Like she's not feeling comfortable being in the spotlight...* Might be wrong. Very interesting personality.
As far as I know, the first album she did that this is from was all stuff she had banked and worked on over a few years with other people but her second album was more her and had more of a theme. She was very confident when I saw her live on the tour this video is from but I think she came into her own more on her second album tour because it was more intimate so I think you're right about the spotlight thing. She did all those shows in the 90's with Hole and Smashing Pumpkins in huge arenas and festivals but she wasn't the one in the spotlight there. There's a really good interview with her somewhere on UA-cam where she talks about some of this stuff.

I said thank you, it is very interesting, reading from another person's perspective. We are going to see Lydia Lunch tonight in Berlin Germany. It's an absolutely obscure time at the moment. I live in an mainly Arabic settled district of Berlin and since war in the Middle East, they were rioting against the oppression of the Muslim people...there's cops just all over the place.
