i never understand why people talk shit when artist develop , personally i think she grew up from the distillers > spinnerette > to her solo stuff now , if you've followed her thru the years you'd hear that , if thats the case , you make some music , try doing it , live up to the expectation's of your fans , its hard for an artist , so don't pass judgement , like everyone in this world everyone has different talents , I fucking love Brody no matter what she does , and I've seen and heard her music develop and evolve . can't appreciate it then too bad? , listen to something else.
Karen Cuellar Pretty much sums up my thoughts on this matter. I enjoy the sound and style of the Distiller era, and so, I don't listen to much of her new stuff. She still has talent and I do appreciate that aspect.I would also add this. If you like her new material then support her by buying her product. Too many people want free stuff and this hurts the artists.
Karen Cuellar I agree, I admit when i was younger i used to have a problem with alot of bands changing, silverchair, brody dalle post-distillers etc...but looking back with the maturity to identify it, it was fueled by sort of naive elitism and a narrower spectrum of taste and a sort of bigotry towards other social circles and i didn't like that my music might be re-engineered to appeal to others. If you just let yourself understand where they are as an artist and stop thinking about what you want to hear from them, and open your mind to allow a more diversified lifestyle and range of tastes, you can actually hear what they are doing and really appreciate their ability to grow like that and enjoy the songs alot, and be glad they did change to become that artist.
Very true. Although I really only like 1 song from spinnerate, Valium Knights, almost all of her other songs I've come to love. Besides, it's not our decision of what she does. Brody is her own person and she needs to do what she wants. Even if some people don't like it
Holy shit this band, every single member, I can't even tell who is more magnificent! Bass and drums deserve all the praise coming at them in the comments, r'n'r at its best. The song is great, guitars sound great, her voice is in its top form and she is hot as ever. Lucky bastards that got to be there at this gig.
Idk if it's the tone he's got on that bass or what but it totally gave me 'Yes' vibes! Killer intro. I just found this band a couple of weeks ago. Gonna keep digging through their albums for sure.
@@slickmechanical Started on the Distillers when I found this... 😊😉 Still haven't checked out much Spinnerette though. I really did like several tunes I came across from the Distillers' catalog when I crossed them a couple of years ago & actually added a few to my playlists. I dig the heavy, old-school, indie/punk bass lines & rhythmic structure of their stuff. I didn't know if it popped up from my oddball music taste & the YT algorithm, or from listening to Queens of the Stone Age on here, or what, but seems like I don't get as many recommendations for decent off the wall bands anymore, or not like I used to anyways. (Sigh! 😥🤣) If you have any other cool recommends kick 'em my way. I'd appreciate it & thanks! 🌟
@@Sera-Chelle you may have gotten the Brode Dalle recommendation because she was married to Josh Homme from QOTSA for quite a while. Check out Spinnerette. The album got bad reviews at the time but I think it was unfair. The songs are pretty good tbh.
The mix and the sound is completely awesome some of the best I've ever heard and I went on tour with these guys many many years ago this sounds awesome

Yeah somewhere in your 30s suddenly the same dark dye you've always used on your hair... You look in the mirror & go WTF? I'm 34 not 54!!! Generally your hair gets lighter as you age (white) , any decent hair stylist would try to talk you outta going single toned Dark Brown or Black.
A little quick appreciation for Cosmo here shredding the bass! Brody love her 💙
I was wanting to learn this song on bass and so I figured I'd tab it by watching this live, on second thoughts I might give it a few years 😭😭

Rain driving that bass hard! Rock on brother
Brody Dalle is a fucking awesome rhythm guitarist. Eighth-note down strokes at 188bpm is hard work and she nails it. The slide up at 4:07 is sweet AF.
This 👏
I thought I was the only one checking the BPM😂. I tried to learn some of those drum fills at 75% playback speed. Not happening.
@@Pigsandpies1984 🤣🤣
188 is reasonably mild in the world of punk downstrokes.
