The 2021 Charger GT is a gorgeous 4 door sedan that's available in rear wheel or all wheel drive and is powered by a 3.6L V6 engine.
On top of having great styling, the Charger has a pretty competitive price point for the performance with the option of sticking with the base 3.6L in the lower trims or moving up to a Supercharged 6.2L Hemi V8 in the SRT Hellcat. This car is great!

I test drove the 2021 GT and it ain’t nothing like any other v6. It’s almost like a V8.
It really is well put together. Plus if you want that v8 power a tune or supercharger will make it happen for a fraction of the cost.

i got a black one, but so far im super excited and happy with it. i have never owned anything close to this, its all new to me, anxious to see how the AWD handles Montana snow this winter. Snow tires werent cheap! I find myself making a lot more trips to the store for things I don't need, like a can of baked beans at 1030 last night 🤷♂️

best looking sedan available. Really want to buy one, as they are such good value in terms of dollar to performance, but that interior is so dated and lacking modern tech. Wish the infotainment screen was bigger. That being said, the looks, colors and design options are just unbeatable. Charger is a classic. Thank you Murica!
It really is a great car, especially with the great engine choices available for it. I think that if Dodge upgrades it to the new uConnect 5 it'll bring a whole new dynamic to the ride. Haha I think Murica will pull through on an update in the next year or two
I have the 2018 GT with the similar trim levels as what you test drove. My 2021 Gt arrives next week. I was so looking forward to seeing your face when you tried launch control. That'll put a smile on your face. No tire squealing, it just launches.
Nice! Do you normally upgrade it every couple of years? I’m looking for one with a few more km on it, ideally broken in, so that it won’t be too rough when I open it up. Was the 2018 your first Charger?
@@CarsWithSteve Mine has 36,000 on it and the stars just aligned and there was an opportunity to upgrade to a new one. Wasn't planning on it as there is nothing wrong with my current vehicle. I typically upgrade after 3-4 years.

Why would you go from a 2018 gt to a 2021? It’s the same car 😭 next chance you get. Get atleast a scat pack. You won’t regret the fun

I just recently test drove a gt also it is so fun when you accelerate quickly. I had similar reaction. It made me smile and laugh. Now I am buying as soon as it gets off the ship.

Gonna wait and see what they do with the 2022. Hopefully gets Uconnect 5 with wireless CarPlay. Would also be nice to get a Brake Hold button. Does the Charger have that auto start/stop every sane person hates?

@@JayoD14 No, you have to plug. Surprisingly most cars have not moved to wireless yet. You can do Bluetooth sure, but not “CarPlay”.
no upgrade to uConnect 5 in the 2022.. I've got the 2022 walk around coming out in July!
If you want it to sit like a hellcat put some 20x9 inch rims with a 275 40 20 up front and 20x10.5 with a 305 35 20 or 315 in rear.

Nice review. What you identified as an emergency trunk release is actually a hook for hanging grocery bags. The actual release is located in the trunk lid. It’s yellow.

You also don't boost from the battery in the trunk. There are positive and negative poles under the hood for that

@@CarsWithSteve sorry if that seemed like just picking on you. Good video just thought people should know as people in construction or other trades often have lots of stuff in their trunk and it's not necessary to unload it all to get a boost or help someone else in need.

This thing looks awesome. It has everything that a muscle car needs. It also has 4 doors and a big trunk. It is on my to-do-list already.
Quick question: What is the difference between a turbo charged engine and a non-turbo engine like this? Do they have different performances with the same horse power?
It really is a great car! There would be a pretty big jump when you get into superchargers and turbos. The 5.7L Hemi is 370 hp vs 6.2L SuperCharged Hemi is 717 hp
If you take the 5.7L hemi and throw on a supercharger - lets say the Magnuson 300c it would add on nearly 150 hp at the wheel

Thanks for reviewing the AWD Charger GT! I was going to get F8 Green but this red is looking better n better! But i also really like purple and suzuki blue are soooo niceI wish it could be had with suede headliner in a nicer dash material in this AWD. Got to have it for the snow.

@@CarsWithSteve o black roof for sure, ide get blk hood on a RT and up, they got the power yea. But i do them sport-bikes at the Dragon. So i got the power to n some more lol but it would be cool to see you do a slow lot walk and see a few different color options on the vehicle you are reviewing but I know in this day and age you can't find more than one car on a car lot so I get that but eventually when it does go back to normal that would be cool to see. If you wanna review a few more GTs I'll be here waiting lol have a great day!!!! Great review!!!

Test drove one last night, found the rear end quite twitchy on acceleration….. perhaps just me not being used to RWD..
If you're hammering the gas pedal hard that makes sense. You could look at enabling launch control for better stability in the rear end

Ahh I had someone point that out a few weeks ago as well. At first I was thinking of editing it out but then it would make the part of the video under the hood pretty short

21:48 its not the base as GT V6 will give you a sound. It surprises me at times still. Closer to a V8 IMO even though its a 3.6L V6.

The SXT/GT Charger have slightly less hosepower and torque than the EcoBoost Mustang but when you move up to the R/T it's a catch between the EcoBoost and GT performance wise.
The Scat Pack 392 has more horsepower/torque than the Mustang GT at a price point that would be close to a Mustang GT Premium

@@CarsWithSteve Is the 0-60 mph time of this car a turn off for some people who want to buy it because it can be beaten by a camry xse v6 or honda accord t 2.0?
@@jafp1617 Nah, they're completely different cars for a very different market.
The only reason why the civic has the extra .8 seconds on paper is because of the added torque from the turbo (273 in the Accord vs 264 in the Charge GT) and body weight (3,217lbs in the Accord vs 4,063 in the Charger)
You could do a ton of things to the Charger to either reduce body weight (remove rear seats) or give it a power boost. Stage 1 ECU would give 50hp/lb-ft torque, turbo or supercharger would add 100+, even an upgraded intercooler would give you extra points to bring them more on par

I was looking for this comment because I’ve driven both because I rent chargers and challengers a lot and the GT is noticeably faster the SXT!
I test drove a GT yesterday..man that engine had 0 sound, so i had to leave it there..
Aftermarket exhaust system could solve that.. try out the R/T or Scat Pack 392 if you're after something fun
